Talking All around newbie

Hi. I am new to the forum and to the IP Protocol. I have been on the IP since Monday, Oct. 1, 2012 and feel great today. Tuesday was horrible!! headaches and so tired. yesterday was much much better but still felt bad but this morning I was AwSoMe!!

I also had my first challenge today! A co-worker had a birthday today and the office got her cake...red velvet with cream cheese icing...yum!! I tried really hard but had to have something sweet so I had a SF jello with them I was VERY proud of myself

I weigh in Saturday and am excited to see how it goes. so far i have only had one of the packets that I didn't like, but other than that, I think I can do this!

Some personal stuff: I am 48 and live in alaska with my husband of 16 years and our 4 kids. my goal is to lose 65 lbs. to get to a weight that I havent been at since i was in high school. Once I get there, I will see how I like it and deside if its good or if I need to do more!

I hope to get a lot of good information and encouragement from you all and hopefully I will be able to support and encourage others as well!

Happy Thursday!!

I was watching Glee with her the other day and people were picking on this woman because she was fat. Turns out it was one of the girls mom. I asked my daughter if she gets picked on because of my weight and she turned her head. Breaks my heart. How could I let myself get this big? It's not good for me and obviously not good for her.

I have at least 100 lbs to lose. But my first goal is 10.

Any suggestions for tomorrow?
Neast, just look at all the support you just got from one post!!! Take it all in, ask questions and follow the plan! Come back here as many times a day as you need too! This is where you belong and this group will never let you down! You can do this!!!

Had a great day today. I am down 3 lbs this week for a total of 13 lbs in 4 weeks!

I have been trying to buy a new vegetable at the grocery store every week.....now what to do with a leek ??

Love reading everyones post. Congrats to all for the loses. I am going to go make my snack and get things ready to make muffins for breakfast in the morning. So excited to try new things!

I noticed your post earlier saying you didn't think you lost any weight. I was hoping you would check in! So excited for you!!!

In Phase 3 you have to eat all of it, all at once, in one sitting. Read through the handout I linked to HealthyAngie (recopied below), and it explains why. When I do P3-ish days now in P4 I still follow the basic plan, but sometimes forgo the grain depending on what I am making.

You are doing awesome! And love the post, one of the hidden gems is trying out all the new veggies...it was like a new delicious world being discovered. And being prepared is key to success!

Thank you so much Liz! I had read this but did not remember the part about 1 sitting. It makes sense. Thanks again!

I work from home mostly. I have not been in the office for a couple months, but today I went in. I have to laugh, I've lost 70 lbs (will be official tomorrow's weigh in). I've had my hair cut (used to be down to my lower back, now above my shoulders) for the last two office visits - yet today the comments were "Nice Haircut!"... too funny. Maybe when I'm down 100 lbs they might figure it out. I'm not sad or dissapointed at all, this is something I'm doing for me. LOL I guess the hair cut was a pretty big change. I just take the comments to be "hey you look better!"

Halfagain, I can totally relate!!! I get sooooo many compliments on my hair!!! Everyone is saying how they love my hair!!! Wow, it's always been short, but I think they're noticing now. I dunno. It's funny though. One lady asked me when I get it cut. I said 10 years ago, it's just the 60 lbs I've lost this summer that you're noticing. LOL!

Welcome! We are very close in age (46 for me) and our goal. I started earlier in September. I live very far away from you - Eastern Canada!

And have dinner together! And now I have to be at work. Bah. Oh well, this too shall pass and we have a nice long weekend to look forward to.

My big news is that I'm starting to phase off in less than two weeks! Insanity!

I'm still 22lbs from my original goal so not quite there. BUT...I had planned on phasing out in time for Christmas and have decided to push that forward a bit.

By the time I hit phase 2 I should be about 15lbs from goal and am hoping to be 10lbs away when I hit phase 3. I know a few pounds will return while I'm on 3 and 4 but that's okay..this is a 'for the rest of my life' kind of thing and I'll always be paying attention.

The plan is do to phase 4 for the last six weeks of 2012, then go back for a reboot/finishing time in January of 2012. Then I should have anywhere from 10-20 lbs to go to get to goal, but I will have had a good rest in between which is super important for my mental state at this point.

I seriously feel like a switch is about to be flipped and that I need to be done. I've been at this for seven months and have been (thankfully) very successful - but I need to taste cheese, fruit, wine and toast again. Note that I said taste...I have no plans to scarf down everything in sight, but I feel like I need those things back, ya know? It's been long enough. I know so many of you understand!!!

So I gave myself permission to not have to do this all at once and I'm so happy about my decision. My coach is 100% behind me and is quite supportive because she's gotten me to a point where I'm ready to be in this for the long haul. So that's good.

October 17th will be my first phase 2 lunch and Halloween will be my first phase 3 breakfast. BRING IT ON!!!!!
Congrats to you. You have done fabulous! Have a glass of wine for those of us still on IP!

It's great to read all of you and all the successes, but then I read replies from a certain person here, and it makes my brain fight this...

I guess I'm PMS-ing... sigh! Sorry about being a downer today...
Keep reading this forum - it has gotten me through some rough days. Just think of all the fabulous clothes you will be able to buy when you get to goal weight (I love shopping in Montreal!!!).
