Yippee! March! About to change the clocks. Warmer weather, ahoy! I am giving my dogs their springtime shave down. They all look so much thinner after being groomed. I wish I could do that to myself.
Woo hoo! Magic - so glad you liked the zucchini! Mrs. Snark - you can do wonderful things with zucchini and mushrooms!
I made a slow cooker Mexican vegetable quinoa dish today. Really tasty, and the texture kind of reminded me of the bread stuffing I love so much around Thanksgiving time, but healthier. I also made an awesome sesame noodle dish - using spaghetti squash. This is the second time I've made it, adapted from my recipe that uses actual pasta, and it's gotten good reviews from my family.
So great news - I think I mentioned in the February thread that the supposed ovarian cysts/endometrium were a misread. Today I got the news (from the head of MRI radiology of the hospital I go to) that a supposed nodule found on my lung was a shadow and nothing more. Can you say relief? I'm in this weird place where I'm pissed nothing was really wrong because I've been worried sick these past weeks. Isn't that messed up? Of course I'm thrilled that everything is normal!
So now that I'm not dying quite yet, I can move on to the not so pleasant work of scheduling spine surgery this summer for a lesion that unfortunately is NOT a shadow and must be removed - but it is benign - so once it's gone I can forget about it. I'm starting physical therapy for my back next week, so that I can be in the best possible shape before the surgery and possibly help my recovery along after surgery. I have disc degeneration in addition to the surgical issue, so it's all piling on at once.
Anyway, enough about my medical saga!! Hope you all had a great day!
Oh, Guac, lols at being pissed at the much ado about nothing, but I'm so glad it's just the *cough* straightforward spinal lesion you have to deal with. We'll be here to cheer you through PT and recovery!
Holy Guacamole! Spine surgery?!!? Eek! That's one of those spots that make me cringe--hearing about operations on the spine or the eyes (although, I'd love not to wear glasses anymore). Glad to hear it was just a shadow on the lung scan.
Things are going well here. Ate fine yesterday, checked the calories on those little cakes on in the freezer and they aren't worth it. The kids will finish them off tonight, and I know not to buy them again. Too much temptation. It's hard because I don't want them to suffer, LOL. That's so warped! They don't need the junk either!
I don't go to bet hungry. I eats lots of bulky foods, (fruit/veg) and whole grains that take a long time to digest, so it's fine. I don't go to bed stuffed, though! That never works out well. I can't sleep well...
Sad morning. I was sure I'd be posting that I was at 190lbs today. But I ate 3 oatmeal chocolate chip cookies yesterday and gained a couple pounds. (SERIOUSLY?!) I'm not sure what is me and what is the scale but that sucks. Waaaaahhhhh! (not that time of the month or anything...)
Get right back to it, Veggie, you got this! And remember those things also pack a lot of hidden salt which will make you retain water. Let it go and keep to your program!
Thanks MagicS, I will get back on plan. 'Went out and walked today for about 40 minutes--I'm trying to start exercising again. DH is going to put some music on my cell phone since my MP3 player is pretty old and the batteries die quickly.
One good thing happened today. My son had a dentist appointment this morning because his teeth were bothering him so bad that he was sent home from school. Ends up that it's just molars coming in! Phew! I was sure we were going to have to do some sleep dentistry on him again. I'm so happy!
Ok. I'm determined to get out of the 190's this week, darn it! Time to get angry! Grrrrr!
You deserve a WHOOSH down, Vdawg, fingers crossed you get one soon! I swear my body likes to randomly retain water out of spite.
Great job Lexi! Way to commit to your plan!
I have to go shopping today for stuff other than food. I dislike shopping for stuff intensely. I just want the same stuff I have had for years to be available so I can get exact replicas - shoes, clothes, towels, sheets. I want what I already have, just new. I would honestly wear the same clothes every single day if people wouldn't think I'm crazy.
Mrs. Snark, I don't enjoy shopping either. Well, that's a lie, I do like online shopping. LOL "What? A gift for me?!!? Delivered to my door?! How marvelous!"
My daily uniform is a v-neck t-shirt and jeans. I have v-necks of many colors.
Maybe you ladies are right about the salt. I did have a "healthy" meal with a bunch of sliced olives, maybe I went overboard. I'll watch out for that in the future.
Way to go Lexi! And I love your biking/wine trade off!
Ok, a new week. I ran to the grocery store already so I'm set.
Oh, do you all use coconut oil? Has it made a difference, do you think?
Switzerland is rapeseed country, plus this close to Italy, olive oil so I can't comment. I just try to go as lightly on the oil as possible.
Lol on the uniform, Mrs Snark. All I can think off is Adrian Monk, wearing the same thing every day. I don't mind shopping, but I understand you. Sometimes I just resent having to think about that stuff. I want to use my brain for other things!
