Are you all getting ready for Easter? I need to pick up some treats to hide in plastic eggs today. Hopefully, stuff the kids really like and that I don't!
Still just trudging along. The burrito event is over. I thought I'd just be eating a small, but DH bought me one with BAV written on it. Big A@# Veggie. Seriously?! I didn't finish it but I stuffed myself good...it was kinda sickening.
We got the real estate agent over and papers signed. Waah! I hate trying to sell the house. Stressful and depressing. I get so anxious because the house is never perfect.
Hope you are all doing well. Mrs. Snark are you still drinking? (just kidding!)
Hello, ladies! I've been really busy lately. The kids are keeping me on my toes, and my husband was out of town this weekend, so it was mom duty. I'm feeling really tired. I had physical therapy today, and wow, my back was in bad shape from all the housework I have been doing. Can you say 100lbs of laundry? Hopefully the massage and exercises got some of the kinks out. I was practically crying on the table as she poked and prodded. We are deep into spring cleaning here, my son is doing the lion's share. I have been slowly chipping away at my closet - what a mess! I have like, 5 different sizes of clothing. Hard to know what to give away - am I an optimist or a pessimist? I have 2 bags of things to give away and I haven't even gone through the hanging things. One thing I have noticed is that I have given away almost all of my high heeled shoes. I guess my shoes are reflecting my age, because I am a flats gal now!
Hiya, ladies. Is it cool if I jump in here? I used 3FC to lose weight about 5 years (??) ago. I have been putting on about 5#s a year since then so I am back. Right now my big plan is just to get back to the gym for my own sanity.
Guacamole- I'm sorry PT hurt so much Pain reliever beforehand next time? That's great that your son is helping with the spring cleaning! I need one of those type of helpers! I have a bunch of stuff to donate too--mostly kids clothes. I had been keeping it in a box in the laundry room and the kids keep grabbing clothes from it. (((shaking head))) Can't they tell that the shirt doesn't fit as they struggle to put it on?
Hi ya Horde & NinersChick! Jump right in!
Do you go to the gym for aerobic classes or weights or machines or all of the above?
Well, I've got all my Easter eggs stuffed with chocolates, candy, gum and wee toys. Only sampled a few treats, so I'm pretty happy with myself. LOL! (I still bought too much though) But the left overs aren't treats that would call to me like chocolate would, so I should be safe.
Oooo, you have more will power than I! I couldn't even have the gross candy in the house. For some reason my brain still thinks eating sugar when I am tired will give me energy. How many kids do you have?
My favorite thing to do at the gym is weight lifting. I go late night/early morning so I have never taken an aerobics class. I use the cardio equipment also since it will be too hot here in AZ to do much outside. Do you go to a gym? Do you have a favorite exercise?
NinersChick- I have 3 kiddo's. They are all elementary school age and they are counting down the days until Easter! Do you have kids?
Nah, I'm not a gym person. I need to get back exercising regularly--last time I was on a weight loss kick, pilates was my thing. Years before, I did the couch to 5K running, but I cannot run on pavement only dirt trails. I would love to try paddle boarding someday--ha, says someone who could never skateboard and is not so great in a canoe...yeah, it maybe an accident waiting to happen
Well, you could record you on a paddle board and become a YouTube star.
I am with you on the pavement thing. I read somewhere that asphalt is better than sidewalks because it's softer. I have been tossing around the idea of doing to C25K again. It made me feel enpowered to be able to run for 30 minutes.
I have too many kids. My oldest is 24. My youngest (right now) is 8 months. He is my foster son.
I agree, it was awesome to be able to run (slowly) for 30 minutes. I was never able to do that as a kid, so actually succeeding as an adult was amazing.
Too many kids! Oh no! That's a big age gap-24 and 8 months. Life must be chaotic! (I'm kinda happy to be out of the baby years.)
Nope. I don't work outside of the home. I don't have childcare around here to do that. If we move, I might like to get something part time.
Well, the kids are off today since there's a freezing rain warning (buses wont run). Lucky monkeys! March break and then another 5 days off!!! Glad I bought extra snacks this week!
Have a good one everybody!!!

Just popping in to say hi to veggie, niners, and horde! Thanks for keeping the thread going for those of us too scatterbrained to post often.
I'm still working through my closet (it's really not that big, but it's a small walk-in where every inch of space top to bottom is used). I filled another bag of old pajamas, exercise clothing that is worn through, and old stretched out sweaters. So many old clothes that I haven't worn in years! I basically am saying to myself that if I haven't worn it in over a year, there is a reason, and it goes in the donation bag. I think as I get older I have to really stick to doing this each year, otherwise I will be prancing down the street in 1980s florescent gear just because it's in my closet and I don't want to be wasteful. It's been at least 2 or 3 years since I last organized and weeded out my closet, so if I start doing it every year, it shouldn't be as big of a job as it is now.
Wow, Guac. I should weed out my closet too, but I just keep waiting till I lose a bit more to get rid of my bigger pants. Did I ever tell you guys, I have a piggy bank, and put 10 francs in for every pound I lose? By the time I'm done, I'll have about 1400 bucks to buy myself a new wardrobe
Veggie, I'm doing the c25k (again.) and am on week 5. I think it took us about 8 weeks to get here, though. Things keep getting in the way- for example, we were supposed to go jogging but DH wanted to go for a walk- which is great, but after a nearly 3 hour walk, no way are we going jogging! I think we've been going about 2x a week instead of three
Hello Niner's chick! Spring is the best time to try to get active. I have such trouble doing stuff in winter. My hibernation instinct kicks in
Happy egg day, everyone; we're losing an hour over here, but at least we have a four day weekend to do it on!

Magicsusan - what a great way to save money! Surely a motivation to lose weight and get some nice new clothes! I walked/jogged 4 miles last week, and boy was I sore! I really envy the people I see who are jogging the entire time, with no slow down time. I would love to get to that point!
Still here. Still doing pretty good. Gym twice recumbent bike at home once. Found a few more yummy low-carb meals the fam likes.
Guac, yay for you!!! 4 miles is nothing to sneeze at!It's nice that the hubs encourages you and participates. I LOVE purging! Makes things so much simpler! Your weight-loss stats are impressive!
Magic, hi! Yes, I love the idea of rewarding yourself and getting a new wardrobe! Is your profile pic a picture of you or just one that you liked? It is beautiful!
Veggie, we could start the C25K together if you're interested? I honestly am not a huge "baby"person either. My foster son should be going to live with his grandma in the next few months. I'm not sure that we will continue to foster after that. We are praying about it. I'm sure I will be a huge baby person once I get grandkids.
I have to tell you all that I am doing something a little crazy on Saturday. I am getting my eyebrows tattooed. They have gotten pretty thin as I have aged. I NEVER wear make-up so I thought getting them done would help my appearance. I am investing in me a little. I am terrified though. :/
Hi ya Ladies!
Survived the long weekend and got the kiddo's back to school. It was a struggle. I always wonder about families with children love to go to school and are eager to go back during summer break. I must be doing something wrong. LOL
I'm stressed today because the photographer is coming tomorrow morning to take pics of the house. DH is gone back to work and it's all on me to have everything looking good. So much to do and I just want to stomp my feet and whine about it....and play on the computer .
NinersChick-I don't think that I can handle doing the C25K right now, even though I'd love to. You are brave to get your eyebrows tattooed! Cool. (But, have you Googled "4 eyebrows girl" ? Oh geez. )
Me too, Guac. I want to be able to do it, just for me, not for anybody else, just because I was always the fat kid and haven't run more than a couple of meters since I was literaly about 8.
Wow, Niners! How are the eyebrows?! Yes, those are my feet in my forest
It's a little browner than that at the moment, though!
Veggie, good luck getting everything done and no, you're not doing anything wrong. All three of mine hate school.
