Default Hey!

Im new, and almost 40, so i figured i belonged here lol.
Ive been losing weight for about a year, and i am still losing and looking for people to cheer on, and who can cheer me on. Im a mother of 4, i have a wonderful husband and family. I started losing weight March of last year, when my weight was at an all time high of 334.6 and as of Friday its 264.6. I would like to weigh 240 by June (any time in june is fine, earlier would be nice!!) and then my next goal is 195, hopefully met before next year. After that im thinking if i weigh about 175 i will be ok, but we will see! I have one more pound to go before ive lost a total of 70 pounds! My 4 year old weighs 40 pounds so ive almost lost two of him! i just cant believe it lol. Looking forward to "meeting" everyone.

Hi, Ksails, how did you lose all that weight in one year? What was your method?

Annleslie, I started counting calories. At first i ate about 1500 calories a day, maybe a few more i cant remember. I doubled my daily amount of protien. lowered the carbs to 150 grams a day, and ate as much fiber as i wanted. I lost about 7 pounds the first week. Then we joined a gym. My husband wanted to get a membership, he is very fit and he wanted to lift bigger weights than was safe to do at home, so we joined. the first week i went twice a week and walked on the treadmill about 15-20 mins, and just about died lol. My goal was to be able to walk a mile in 20 mins.. and it took me about 3 weeks to get there, from there i just started exercising more and more until now, i walk on the treadmill at least 5 days a week for a hour, i do at least 3 miles a day at various inclines. I try to switch it up, to give me some variety. I also strength train with my husband (i bench press 30 pounds each arm he does 300 LOL) Im almost ready to start running for 2 mins every 15 mins on the treadmill.. right now i do 30 second jogs lol.
I have lowered my carbs even more now, i try and stay under 100 carbs every day. I try to listen to what my body is telling me, and give it what it needs. If i cramp, i drink more water, if im hungry more meat and veggies. ive got about 70 pounds left to lose, but i know i can do it!

Welcome and congratulations on your success so far!

Doesn't it feel great to get in better shape? I've recently started jogging again too, after many years of not. I can now jog 4 minutes on, then I ride an incumbent bike for 4 minutes, then back to jogging.. and I can go for 30 minutes like that. I'm amazed at myself!

I'm so thankful to at least have that fitness marker to judge myself by though, as I've been plateau'd for about 3 months now. Not doing anything in the weight loss department, but my resting heart rate is now below 60.

/anyhow, nice to meet you and keep up the great work!
