Last week, I jogged/walked 9 miles. As of today, Friday I have done NOTHING. PLEASE PRAY FOR ME IN MY LAZINESS AND NOT BEING CONSISTENT WITH THE BATTLE OF THE BULGE. AND IT IS BULGING!!!!!!!!
HELP HELP HELP HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How did you do today?? You can do it! just hop out of bed and take a run- you`ll feel so much better all day.
Elfinsnow - you know, it could be from all the salt in the restaurant food. I wouldn't worry about it too much. It was your birthday, you celebrated, and it's once a year!
You are doing AWESOME with all your workouts (hey, some of that weight could be muscle gain!) and you are sticking to your plan. Today was a new day.
And I bet next Monday you'll be down again... Don't allow this to cause a backslide for you. You're doing so well!
Thank you! I get so frustrated sometimes. I`m going to hang in there though. Gotta do it!! Thanks- I needed the support.
I don't know about role model, mickeysofyne, I feel like more of a fanatic, LOL! Thank you for the encouragement though! I need it as well. You are doing fine. Sometimes we need breaks but don't take too long of one as it is easy to get out of condition pretty quickly. Also don't be discouraged if one day seems much harder than another. Yesterday I really struggled a ton during my running and biking. Today I breezed right through. Not sure what the difference was but it was dramatic.
Went and had to actually buy new running shoes tonight. My old ones were getting pretty worn down from all the running lately. I love Nike and Adidas. My old ones are Nike. Tonight I ended up with some new Adidas. Tried the Nikes too but the Adidas were half price and more comfortable. I was definitely glad for that!
Way to go elfinsnow with your awesome workouts this week!! You rock!
Lessofmaur-Going up and down stairs is an awesome workout! I myself even running a ton have a hard time doing stairs so they will help for sure.
This week I was way off on my exercise because of my back/neck. I was going to run on Friday but decide to wait just to make sure. I'm back on the treadmill walking but won't run again until tomorrow. I'll make sure I get a couple extra runs in before the end of the month to make up the two I missed.
Cat- glad to hear you're on the mend...don't overdo it!
Sorry to be mia as we had internet troubles that resulted in us having to buy a new modem
I've been plugging away at the C25K- still on week 5. I can complete the 5 & 8 min run (did a 10 min run once too!), but can't get over the mental/physical 20 min run barrier, so I'm trying to build up to it gradually- maybe I'll make it by the mothers day 5k LOL!
So I did 213 min of activity this week for a monthly total of 574 minutes.
Keep up the great work ladies & have a great Sunday.
Week 1 - 195 min cardio
Week 2 - 125 min cardio
TOTAL: 320 min cardio
I have met 320/700 = 46% of my goal and the month is 15/31 = 48% behind me. I need to get cracking! Hopefully I can get in good exercise Mon - Wed of next week, and then take my 4 days in Florida as they come... I'm sure I'll walk outdoors a fair bit, but it's completely flat, not like the hills around Pittsburgh!
ETA: I also walked a brisk, hilly mile after I posted this, and also spent at least an hour doing yard work. It's not cardio, but definitely a lot of bending, lifting, pushing, etc. So now I'm 49% of goal with the mile walk. Yay!

Sat- 1 hr at the gym. cycled 2 miles, eliptical glide 30 min, then ran a mile. Then cycled to cool down. Followed up with upper body strength with weight machines.
Sunday- day off! Biked 4 miles with the family.
CanadaMel - I hope you're running is off to a great start this week!
Beemer - I hope your new shoes serve you well!
MickeySoFyne - (is your name from the song, hey Mickey your so fine, your so fine you blow my mind, hey mickey! -- Now I can't get it out of my head -- ack!) How are you doing? Have you found your groove again?
LessOfMaur - I hope things are all straightened out in your basement and things are back to normal again...
Glad to see everyone is doing so well!! I bet you are glad to be back to exercising CAT! That can be tough when our bodies let us down. Hope everyone has an awesome week working our butts off, literally, LOL!!!
I'm doing a happy dance as I just got back from my first 20 min run! I decided not to listen to the C25K podcast & just set the stopwatch on my ipod & used my music & it worked- Woo hoo!
That is awesome Mel!!! I think it is much easier to run when you are listening to or watching something you enjoy. It makes you kind of forget what you are doing. Congrats on the run!!
I did a 4-mile walk today that has 3 VERY steep hills that combine for 3/4 miles. I did this same walk on 2/10, right when I started this journey, and the hills were definitely easier this time; I was glad to see my fitness level has improved!
Heidi - I hate hill workouts; I still get VERY winded when we hike anything with an incline. It's nice to "feel" your hard work paying off. You are doing GREAT!!!
I did another 4.5 miles this morning and I really like the 15/5/15/5/15/5. It breaks it up in such a way that the hour flies by.
I guess I'll post my stats for the week since I'm going away tomorrow.
I've done 470/700 min. of cardio which is 67% of my goal. The month is only 58% complete so I'm in good shape. Even if I do NO cardio in Florida, the month will only be 71% complete -- which leaves me time to reach my goal. YAY!
Having this goal has definitely made me more focused.
