Hello friends,
I need sleep but couldn't go to bed without posting...we had a fundraiser tonight at the school and it went well. I had a good eating day. No exercise today other than 8,000 work steps. I will wear my pedometer tomorrow when I go to the garden show...the bus leaves at 7AM. Good job on the bike OMW. You are being so dedicated. We will have so many new exercise options when the weather starts to cooperate. What happened on the biggest loser tonight? I won't have time to download it off the net and nobody at our house knows how to make the DVD tape TV shows. Make your Wednesday a good one friends....three days and one night until Saturday....make it count! |
I'm a newbie and haven't had a chance to read through a majority of the 36 pages (!) of posts YET....but, it's so inspiring to see all of the tickers that are there way down!!! I look forward to reading more about your journeys!

Welcome Back To Basics, I hope you find 3FC to be a helpful and friendly resource and support system. The people posting here have sure been inspiring to me.
Back from the garden show at Navy Pier today. The gardens were beautiful and it makes me wish for Spring more than ever. I think my new exercise program might have to be raised bed digging and preparation; does anyone know the calories for that one? LOL I purchased some new pepper, lettuce, and Swiss Chard seed. I have never grown Swiss Chard before. Signing off because I need sleep and a decongestant! Later friends... |
i agree!

great job ladies! your inspiring!:cp: |
WELCOME!!!!! The more the merrier! This is a great place for support and inspiration.
Pony, hope you enjoyed the garden show. I am also very ready for spring. Our weather here keeps moving up and down. A couple nice days, then a couple cold days. My spring break starts friday, I'm hoping it is at least warm enough to walk outside every day! Keep up the good work chicks! Sherindarelli and Back2Basics, you are both off to great starts. Hope to share lots of success with you! :cheer: |
Welcome Sharindarelli! I am glad you found 3FC. I came across this website completely by accident. Usually my accidents are bad but this time it was fantastic! I love the fact that I can post in the privacy of my own home, when I have time, and in a format I am comfortable with. I hope you enjoy the people, advice, and support as much as I have.
I am drinking green tea ... a hope for immune system stimulation to help beat this chest cold. I travel again tomorrow...taking extra drinks, protein bars, and healthy snacks for our journey. OMW - Do you remember when I was complaining about my dry mouth...I went to the dentist today and he said a vitamin B deficiency can cause such a thing and I should consider taking a supplement of extra vitamin B as well as my daily vitamin. Have you ever heard of this? As some of you suggested, he did ask if I was drinking enough water...unfortunately, extra water does not seem to make a difference. Best wishes through the weekend. I will not be able to post tomorrow but will check in Saturday night. Good luck everyone. |
Pony, I have never heard that Vitamin B deficiency can cause dry mouth. Can you take an extra B? I'm curious to see if things improve. I am also still fighting this cold. I have had some sort of drainage and congestion for the last 3 weeks. It's annoying and has kept me from exercising serioudly. I have done the Wii and some treadmill but not up to what I was doing before. I see your ticker has moved again! I am so proud of you!!!!!
My weigh in today, I'm down 1. Puts me back at 192. I feel like I ma back on track. That was scary for a few days. I felt like I wanted to eat whatever, one part of me wanted to eat, one part of me knew that would be a disaster. I feel like I am back in the right mindset and need to kick things up a bit for summer. My neighbor has been losing weight also. She dropped off a bunch of size 16 pants and capris for me. I am able to squeeze into some of them, it will be nice to have some "goal" pants to work towards. Got my haircut and highlighted this morning. What a nice pick me up! Have a great weekend! |
Good Sunday Morning BFFS,
Well, traveling was fun but resulted in a 1.5 pound gain. I need to get my mind back into the protocol and especially the exercise. I purchased B complex over the weekend so we will see if it makes a difference with my dry mouth. I wish it could be my appetite that was dry! LOL OMW - 16 is great!! I was glad to move out of the 20's and into the 18's. It sounds like you are back in the groove again. It would be so easy to slip back into old habits...I still fight the pull which seems to be stronger at times than others. Good job for not relenting. Do you have a list written down of all the reasons you want to lose weight? It helps me to read the list when I am feeling weak or down. Today we are driving to visit my folks, DD needs to build a birdhouse for extra credit at school, we need to collect maple sap for boiling, and check an old fence that needs repaired...busy day. Make good choices friends!! |
Welcome to our new friends; you have found a great group of ladies here that are a wealth of information and very supportive.
Mack and I went out to dinner last night and the scales went up for the first time since we started back in December. Considering what we ate and drank I'm not worried about it; I know it's not "real" weight. Pony - Mack and I have the same thing happen and we just thought it was from our water. FWIW we both take a B complex in addition to a multi, E, Flax, and TriFlex. I just did a search on this and found that this in not uncommon with vegetarians. Now I'm wondering if this is something I should research more; I just had bloodwork done a couple weeks ago and that was all fine, I'm not a vegetarian, and I take a B complex.... hmmmm something to think/worry about???? OMW - Squeezing is good; I have pants that I have kept for years that I couldn't even get over my thighs and now I can squeeze into them (can't button them up but they are on). It let's me know how far I have come and where I want to be. Speaking of clothes. I've been struggling with what to do with my "big" clothes. In the past I have kept most of my "small" stuff with the hopes of getting back in to them. Well I don't EVER want to be back in my "big" clothes but I can't seem to get rid of them either. |
Hello all....I was "lost" for a while, but I'm believing that posting will help me get back on track!
Glad to see the continued progress/successes! Keep up the great work. :) Welcome to all the newbies... |
Welcome back Forme01! You are always welcome here. It's great that you see the importance of getting back on track. We are here for you!
Cat, I donated a lot of my old stuff. I kept some of the nice things to give to my sister. I don't plan on being that big ever again. It felt good to clear them out of the house. Pony, I like the list idea. I'll have to work on that. What a great way to help focus on why I'm doing this. Hope everyone had a great weekend. Busy day here, church , soccer game then a little shopping for DD and DH. I'm planning to make do with what I have now to get me through spring, then I'll treat myself to some new summer stuff. Keep at it girls! We can do this! |
Just checkin in
Hi all,
I haven't forgot about you, I think of you often. Its just that I don't feel like I am pulling my weight! HA HA... I mean, I seem to have stagnated. I can't help but feel I need to really figure out the eating thing, but the gym thing, I got down. Lately I have been doing 2 classes in a row, my body feels firmer, just no weight loss. Oh well. Now I just have to figure out how to eat. I eat well, and low calorie, something about my body just does not want to let go. I am going to have to do something radical, and I am just not sure I am ready for that. Anyway... glad to see you are all still here and working hard. Will check in once in awhile. big hugs!!!! |
Hi everybody,
DMC, we miss you. At 5'2" and 144 you are not stagnating, you are maintaining! I notice you started at 148. Four pounds at your weight is a big deal! If or when you decide to radically change your eating habits we will be here to cheer you on, but if you choose to just maintain at your current weight, we are still here and are frequently inspired by you....so.....keep posting when you can!! Welcome back Forme01. I am looking forward to getting to know you better. CruiseCAT, I know the feeling associated with getting rid of big clothes. I truly plan to take OMW's suggestion and get the big clothes out of the house but I notice they are still sitting in a big pile on a chair where I set them two weeks ago!! I plan to put them in a big box and make a donation to Goodwill. OMW, thanks for the little pep talk. I always feel good after reading your posts! Warm weather has arrived...think short sleeves, toned legs, and firm arms....lets keep working!! |
Good evening BFF's!
Glad to hear from you DMC. I miss you! Check in when you can, I agree with Pony, 4 pounds for you is like 25 or 30 for someone like me. I have alot more to lose than you so it will be harder for you. As always I am inspired by your commitment to exercise. You'll figure it out! It was a beautiful day here. Got together with some friends for coffee and sat outside. I love the feeling of the sun on my skin. I know it's not good for you but I feel so much better when I have a little color. My friend had a variety of desserts, I am proud to say I went for the fresh fruit. I think I am back in the zone and that feels good! Pony, Did you start taking the vitamin B? Hope that it helps! Think spring friends! |
Happy St. Pats Day everyone,
I had a good day today. After work I took our dog, Hondo, to an obedience class. He was a good boy. The instructor said he was more motivated by praise and petting than food. Everyone laughed when I said I wish I could be like that (the class was full of good friends that know I am trying to lose weight). For some people, the obedience class was like aerobics as their dogs were pulling them all over the room. OMW, I started the vitamin B...I think it may be too early to tell if its working yet...I'll let you know. I am committing to 10,000 steps or more, every day for the rest of this work week. Life is good....keep working friends, fresh vegetables and fruits are always a good idea, and exercise is a privilege! |
