Default 300+ And Ready To Try Again....#1007

WELCOME

We are a group of individuals who weigh or have weighed 300+, or near there. This group was formed to provide a place for others like us to find support and hope. We are aware of the distinct problems that come with weighing over 300 lbs.

We want to invite everyone to join us in our journey.
We share laughter and tears.
We share what works for us and what doesn't.
We often use a "Topic of the Day" for discussion.

Motivational Monday
Tuesday Tips
Wednesday Wish List .. and What you are doing to obtain it.
Thankful Thursday
FUN Friday ... don't wait until you lose your weight.
Sit-up Saturdays - any physical activity
Share your Success Sunday

These are not required topics ...just ideas to share. We often find them very helpful. We also share heartaches and fears ... joys and celebrations.

We have several extra threads going on simutaneously such as Monthly Challenges, Weekly Weigh-ins, Recipes, Bios, and more. Please feel free to check them all out.

We have found this thread to be more than just a support group...
we have found it to become a home. We invite you to join us.

WELCOME!

I know you'll all agree that we are really thankful for the free services here at 3FC. The sisters offer all of this support and information with no charges to us. There are a couple of ways though that we can help out.

If you are thinking about buying anything at Amazon, why not help out 3FC at the same time? You can do this by clicking on the button for the Amazon "store" in the upper right hand corner of the screen on the PURPLE tool bar. A portion of your purchase price will be given to 3FC by Amazon. It doesn't increase your price at all, but it does help out 3FC. You can use any of the Amazon.com links that you see on the site in order to help contribute to the site.

Also, BTW, in case you didn't know it, you can view the message boards "ad free" for a minimal charge. I think it's like $15 for 6 months. A very small investment to be rid of the annoying ads and make your pages load quicker.

There have been some concerns expressed by the powers that be about copyright infringement. So please, if you are directly quoting someone else or printing an article in whole or in part, please give credit where credit is due!!!!

argh, these threads are flying by too quickly for me to keep up again...it seems anytime I am actually busy, I lose track on here because I can't come check in 5 times a day like I can when I am bored at work

Anyway, I'm alive and busy and down to 283, so I broke that pesky 284 barrier that had been plaguing me for a few weeks, so now I just need to take the next leap into the 270s...264, my arch nemesis, here I come!

Hi everybody...new here as of today.

NOT new to trying to lose weight, but fairly new to the 300+ category. I posted a bit about myself on the 300+/40 thread.

I'm looking forward to getting to know you and starting this journey to better health.

Hi All,

I forgot to mention before, though how I don't know, but my Gazelle Rider, can, amongst other things, tot up how many miles altogether I have done on it since my first turn on it. I was surprised to see today that I have clocked up 102 miles

Sharon - brilliant news on the 2 lbs lost, who knows, you might end up losing another one or two by the time you weigh on Saturday!

Glad you got a laugh from my boobs in the food comment

Heather - it's wonderful how your reflection is catching you off guard. I bet it's nice to surprise yourself at the new you

Don't worry, I will be shouting it from the roof tops the next time I can sit comfortably at a booth, or fit on roller coaster etc. At the time of doing either I think people will think I am drunk or something because the smile on my face will be so huge

Misti - I hear you on the dropping food on your boobs problem. Mine aren't as big as yours, but they always end up getting messy lol. Another way I end up covered in food is if I sit in the living room to eat my food. I put my plate on a tray on my lap, but as my belly takes up so much of my legs it feels like it's miles away from me. So food always drops on it's long journey up to my mouth

I am glad you have realised that you aren't ending up so messy now. I do have more room on my legs for a tray than I used to, so hopefully soon I won't end up being such a messy eater

I hope you are feeling better soon

Lilion - lol at your comment on a lot of us here having computer viruses because we feel 'poopy' I say us and we, but touch wood, I am feeling ok. Sorry to hear that you're not

That's fantastic how your size 20 jeans are baggy on you now. It's a great feeling when you have to keep hitching them up, well great because you lost weight, not so good when it's a pain having to KEEP ON hitching them up

Nelie - CONGRATS on the lb loss taking you to 99 lbs gone!!! just 1 more pound to go and you are at 100, that is absolutely AWESOME!!!

You will have to post a picture of you on your wedding day, and as you were when you first tried the dress on. I bet we will all see how much you have lost.

Sorry that you have problems sleeping sometimes too, and it's absolutely dreadful when it happens because you are hungry. That's one of the reasons I always make sure I have supper at around 9 pm. It's only a low fat hot choc, and perhaps some dried fruit but it's enough to make me not hungry over night.

Patti - back to your ticker weight, that is really brilliant!!! I wonder if the FFM will take one little lb more by tomorrow so that you are under your ticker weight when you have your WI.

I said it before, I'll say it again though, it's lovely to see your photo on here, now everyone can put a face to your name

Kenya - don't you just hate the term morbidly obese! It's true that it's hard to lose a lot of weight and still be classed as that. But we just have to keep on losing until one day we aren't morbidly obese, obese, or even overweight. We are going to be 'normal'

Valerie - glad that your eye procedure went ok, anything to do with the eye or eyelid even always seems so tough. I could never have laser eye surgery. It would freak me out. It's a good job I don't have a problem with my eyes

Brenda - that's great that you bought a new outfit, I hope you DO get hubby to take a pic of you so that you can post it here.

Jill - glad to see the weight is coming off, you really are back on track and doing great Like you said 264 here you come!

4MeNow - good to have you hear. I think all of us could say the same when we found this place, new here, but not new to dieting! What diet are you following? I might have to pop over to the 40+ thread to see what you wrote about yourself

Luan - aha, thanks for explaining about Orlando in February. I guess I will have to wait til then to get my romance story

Take care all,

Hugs,

Ammi

Sharon-I have lost 5 1/2 inches from my chest and 6 inches from my waist and 6 inches from my hips. In total from the places I have measured I have lost 30 inches. So I take up about 3 feet less space! LOL I didn't start with measuring all of me, like my calfs and ankles and neck so I have lost more then that, I just don't know how much. It IS actually really nice to have proof that I can see of how much I have lost. WHOOHOO ON THE LOSS!!

Lilion-I plan on keeping the dress around. I bring it out when I am having a bad day so I can see just how far I have come! LOL It is my little ego boost! And the male attention is flattering...even though all he wants is a booty call. Not exactly my cup of tea so hes going to get the brush off VERY soon. LOL

Dogpal- Glad you are back!

Ammi-Yeah he knew that something was really wrong and that something was in there. He gets his results on the 20th. Two days after his 30th birthday. I am hoping it is nothing serious. 102 MILES?! SO AWESOME!

trixiepixie- It is always good to have new people! This community is so supportive!

notthecheat-I have no idea what to tell you on the BF front. I am the one who has the spending problem.

Misti-Congrats on that NSV! I always get a little nervous about fitting in booths. I can't wait for that day when I am not scared.

Luan-3.4 LBS!!! WHOOT! GO YOU! :

Nelie-99lbs! That is AMAZING! You should be so proud! I can't wait till that day I can say that. You are in inspiration!

4menow-HI!! It is good to have you here!

Today is a stupid day. LOL TOM has come and she has brought her mean evil cramp trolls with her. I am in so much pain all I want to do is roll into a ball and cry but I have to work. YAY! So I can not do that. Oh and the mountain that I live by is ON FIRE! Like crazy on fire. The moutain is about 5 miles away from where I live. I am not worried that is going to get all the way down here or anything but my whole house now smells like smoke. Grrrr. I am whiney today! lol I think it is time I go take an asprin and lay down. <3333

Thanks everyone for the support

kenya - There are a lot of struggles when you have more than 100 lbs to lose but it gets better the more weight we lose.

Sharon - I don't think my dress will need to be taken in but it might. I don't mind one bit though.

2f4u - Nice avatar I hate cameras as well but I am getting better. Congratulations for getting back down below 300.

4menow - welcome

Princesspuffypants - I don't do anything formalized but I watch my portions and limit processed foods. I try to eat what are considered "whole foods" and high fiber foods. Basically a lot of vegetables, whole grains, legumes and lean protein. I also try to eat protein and carbs together. My exercise is a mix of weights, cardio and weekend hikes.

Ammi - 102 miles! wow. The best thing for late night hunger is go to sleep. I actually don't get hungry late very often, but if I do, I ignore it and try to sleep. I also eat at the latest at 8pm. I do know that if I go to sleep hungry, I usually wake up starving.

Nothing else to report for the day. I am looking forward to a good weekend and hopefully some hiking

Okee .. gonna try and catch up with the personals now .. here goes rofl ..

Valerie - Hunny I think youre a gem! Sorry to hear about the carp (being polite please think the the R and A around the other way ) that is going on with your finances .. dont give up on dreams tho hun ... dreams are just reality coming into being (oh that is zen for this time of the morning ... anything before midday is too early rofl). We have finance issues here too, but I know if they were really big ones that caused a lot of problems a marriage wouldnt even be on the books, for me anyway. I think you did great at the chinese restaurant .. Im in awe of those of you that still go to restaurants rofl .. I have the chance to go to Dennys in the city tomorrow ... but Im not sure Im willing to risk it while I still so close to the 300 lol .. maybe by Xmas I think we have Curves in NZ .. but only in the main centres .. I have heard its great too ... darn it!

Misti - I LOVE your NSV!!! That is one of my goals .. to be able to go to a restaurant with booths and slip on in there ... and not have my boobs cleaning the table as I slide in ... or should I say SQUEEEEZE in lol .. Oh Im sure you must have been very happy about that for sure .. I know its one of the things Im looking forward too (aint it funny how those small things make all the difference ) I hope youre feeling better today tho?

Zelma - not sure if youre still about to read this ... but GOOOD LUCK! I think youve already won it anyway ... at least to me you have (and the rest of the board Im sure) ... we will be thinking of you all weekend now! Huggies

Wyllenn - Great job you are doing .... be time for a shopping trip for you soon I would think with so many clothes feeling loose Excellent!

Angie - HIII ... hope youre doing well and keeping op

Luan - Well done on your loss hun!!! Keep up the great work!

Kimberly - Sorry to hear youre still in a funk .... hopefully the catch up on sleep will help you feel a little more in control ... huggies

Ammi - I definitely have that sleep problem, its annoying and depressing really .. you know you need sleep but your mind is saying .. no .. Im not ready right now .. then when it has to get back into gear its saying no Im too tired have a headache instead. I have found doing puzzles (my fave at the mo is Soduku) in bed helps my brain to wear out as usually its really my body that has just had enough and wants a rest while my mind is churning over everything I have done,,, what has to be done tomorrow etc ... doesnt always work mind you cos I get carried away and end up staying up later anyway lol but when I do finally go to sleep I stay that way!

Nope didnt stay rested for long ... but its great finally getting everything done and actually having the energy to do it all too! As you can see from my ticker Im down will add more info later in the post lol...

OMG - Im with you on the food boob problem ... esp when you lean over the table to get something like sauce or whatever ... you can guarantee something will be stickin in the gravy or mashed potato .. whatever is messiest! Not to mention when something falls off your fork it always lands on the protrusion rather than back on the plate ... messy bib treatment for me I think rofl ... I cant wait to hear you have gone "booth" on us

Great work on your Gazelle rider too ... thats like .. wow ... a looooong way rofl.

Sharon - WTG on your "so far this week" loss .. Im getting excited for you for the official one I must have missed the post about probs with other mums .. but Im sure if they are being B****Y then its just them trying to make themselves feel better ... those are the ones I think the FFM should be dropping those pounds off to when she takes them from us

Lilion - WTG on your jeans!! I have dug out a few clothes that I havent worn for years (if ever) in preparation for fitting into them .. lol ... I seem to be at that middle stage at the moment .. everything I have is getting baggier ... except the things I dont fit which are like 2 sizes away ... still ... at least I know they are there and will keep trying them on lol .. you are going to have to get yourself another pair of Fave jeans me thinks Well done! Hope you feel better soon too!

Nelie - Fab on another pound lost .. and sooo close to the 100 too! Im sure you will have no prob getting rid of that last lot you want gone either hun ... and I cant wait to see your official wedding photos too ... I think your hunny is a darling too .. lucky you! (and him!). As for the boxes .. in our case it was the other way around ... the majority of the boxes are Scoots lol .,.. My ones had mainly my collectable bears in (which I have to take a pic of soon to show you) and books ... which I had slimmed down IMMENSELY for this move knowing we wouldnt have the room we had at the shop for all our things to go ... we also have stuff stored in a storage shed!! Mostly his and lord knows what he wants it all for! PLUS .. at our rental property in the city there is another single garage full of his stuff!! I do try to point out .. hunny you aint used any of that stuff for 4 years + ... GET RID OF IT!! But he is a terrible hoarder .. I cant even get into the spare room for all his stuff in there and that is where we are supposed to be able to put all the linen shelving rofl ... looking forward to getting a new garage (he has picked out a double garage with workshop and office ... bet he will fill that up quicker than you can spit too! arrggghhh).

Patti - LOVE your piccy hun .. its always nice to put a face to the posts as it were WTG and HOORAY for moving back to TwoTown!! EXCELLENT!!

Kenya & Nelie - I dont know if Im looking forward to losing all this weight or not now lol .. I never really thought of how I appeared to others, I mean I know Im fat .. ok .. OBESE ... but I never really let it stop me from doing most of the things I wanted to do ... even when I get smaller I aint bungy jumping or parachuting ... but now you both have me thinking ... and is it just me or does that make the weight loss more terrifying or not??

Brenda - Hi hun ... how did your hubby and you night go?? Looking forward to seeing your new outfit

Jill - Glad to see you broke that barrier ... its always a buzz to get over an annoying hurdle isnt it? Well done!

Trixiepixie & 4MeNow - Welcome on in .. hope we see you on the boards more .. remember we are here for the bad as well as the good and Im sure everyone on here has had similar experiences to you in one way or another so we all know where youre coming from

Chrissy - Hope you get to feeling better ... Im not sure what hit me this morning (hopefully TOM isnt coming for another visit so darn soon after his last one!) but I was in agony this morning and couldnt even get up to feed the lambs at the normal time .., so they had breakfast a little late this morning ... but Im still feeling very tender like I have ripped my muscles apart in my abs or something ... so just gonna take it easy for the next few days .. dont apologise for feeling off either ... we definitely understand that feeling!

Okee ... hopefully I have caught up with everyone?? If not I do apologise and HIIIII

Okee .. just a quick update about me ... Im very sore today (might be TOM coming or all that lifting and moving of furniture I did yesterday), so just gonna go slowly ... still getting the washing done tho (so far 3 loads) and after this Im gonna go out and play with the dogs who have been patiently waiting while I was typing all this lol ..

As my ticker shows Im finally in TwoTown ... it was the best thing to see this morning when I got on the scales ... had to do it twice just to make sure I wasnt reading it wrong rofl .. so this week I lost 3.5lbs! Im a quarter of the way to my long term initial goal (I call it that because even tho I will still be overweight at 220pounds I want to see how I feel as to how much further Im willing to go down .. last time I got close to my goal weight which was in my "range" I was like a walking coathanger with bones stickin out everywhere and I hated myself ... so I figure if I start at 100kg and work my way down at a pace Im happy with to where I want to be I will be ok with that ) ... and almost half way to my Xmas challenge goal ... *happy dancing* ... ouch .. figuratively rofl ...

Tomorrow I may be getting tempted at Dennys ... but Im going to see if Scoot will take me to Subway instead (he is getting tired of Subway lol .. but I love having it on the weekend as my treat .... he says he is getting bored .. this from a guy that would eat steak and mushrooms with all the trimmings every night if he could!)

Have a great OP day all .. and I have noticed that a lot of us are getting into funks or just not feeling 100% .. hopefully this too will pass .. I have made an appointment at the doctors for me on Monday as well (I havent been to a doctor for about 4 years .. so I dont have my own one anymore lol) .. so chances are she will do some bloodwork etc just to make sure Im doing everything ok

Huggies
