Zelma- Wowsa! You look great in all of those! I'm with the group on the jeans'black top combo, but I don't think you could go wrong wearing any of those!

Ammi- sorry to hear about problems with you mum. Hope it all works out.

And I know exactly what you mean about clothing sizes. We are built very similar and although my clothes have become a little baggy, they are far from being too big. I was hoping to move to at least a size 24 by now, but I don't think I'm there yet. And, like you, I think I'd have to weigh 100lbs. before I could fit into a 12 again!

Ayanna- So sorry to hear about your brother-in-law. You and your family are in my thoughts.

Kenya- WTG!!

Valerie- Loved the icing story! I'd have laughed my butt off!

Brenda- Hope you get to feeling better soon!

Nightkatt- Good job bypassing festival food. oh! just the smell of some of that stuff is enough to make me gain a few pounds!

Well, not a lot happening around here yet. Hubby is still sleeping, which is unusual, but he bought Guild Wars over the weekend and has been playing it non-stop. I'm off to do laundry and take a walk.

Hope you chickies have a great Sunday!

Zelma -- I love the dress with the wrap -- it's hard to tell about the beading from the pic. But I also agree with the others -- go with the "smart casual" choice!

Kenya -- I'll say it again here -- WOOHOO !!! on the 100 pounds lost!!

Ayanna -- I think it is so important to reflect on WHY we got here and consider how to make changes. This isn't just a physical game, it's very much a mental one!! Sounds like you're making some connections!

I have a scale victory to report. I weigh at the gym as well as at home. Typically, I weigh about 9-10 pounds more at the gym (middle of the day, clothes AND shoes on...) and it's a nice check on my home scale. Yesterday, I hit Onederland at the gym! Actually, the scale said 197.1 pounds! Looks like my weigh in at home tomorrow is going to be productive too (maybe 188!). What's cool about this is that my home scale is an old "dial" scale. No digital numbers. The gym scale is digital, so it was the first time I saw a "1" in my weight!!!

Actually, I didn't want to go to the gym, but 2 things motivated me to go: 1) I owe it to my new smaller body to lift those weights and 2) I suspected I might have the "1" experience!!

Kenya, congratulations That is really awesome.

Brenda, hiking is awesome. When I first started, it was very difficult. After doing it a few times, it became easier. I remember one day a 3/4 hike uphill killed me, I had to take lots of breaks. Now I do hikes with uphills and they aren't as big a deal as they used to be and I can do longer distances. During my 5 mile hike yesterday, I took one break.

I do have some good unofficial news to report. I use my scale at home to gauge where I am but I don't use it for my official scale because I can't get an exact weight on it. It usually is a few more lbs heavier than my official scale. This morning, my home scale read 265! I can't wait to see what happens when I weigh on my official scale.

Heather - That is an amazing amount of exercise! You should be proud! You really are inspiring with all that energy!

Kenya - 100 lbs in 365 days! AWSOME! You also have a bunch to be proud of!

Ammi – Okay, again the differnce in the English language comes out. What is quorn and what is mince? My guess is veggie burger vs. hamburger?

Valerie – Think she was getting back at you for chucking that last container in her room?

Zelma – I agree about the dark top and gray pants. Are they silk? They look it and look lovely on you, especially for ‘smart casual’.

Ayanna – I’m so sorry for you and your family! What a terrible, shocking loss.

Well all, I did go to dinner with my old friend last night. She’s 8 lbs from her goal on WW and we did Applebees and had the WW menu. It was so nice to catch up. We’ve known each other since we were five! That’s 38 years! Amazing that we are still friends, although perhaps not quite as close as we once were. People change. I then went shopping for some food I can actually eat without guilt and then rented A History of Violence. It was quite good, although I didn’t get started on it until 11 p.m. so I didn’t get to sleep until 1 a.m. I almost stayed up until DH got home – Almost! So I slept until 10 a.m. Now I need to get some stuff done! I NEED to go to the office and I may…but only long enough to grab some work to work at home with. DS is at a friends and I need to be home when he gets here.

I hope you all are having a good weekend – well, as good as you can under some of your difficult circumstances. Sending : good vibes to all who need them!

MISTI, You’re right of course, if I’d just kept my fingers out! I took her little notes out and put in there. She laaaaaaughed at me this morning! In truth, I thought is was very funny, and I’m greatful to her that even though she hasn’t yet decided to really change her lifestyle, she’s trying to support me in my change. She does try to make little changes, we just don’t have the same level of commitment. …As I type she’s making pancakes for breakfast. They smell great, but I turned one down and at least she doesn’t argue anymore. I had a protein shake and an apple with peanut butter.

HEATHER! That is SO cool about the progress you can look back and see. eeeek! {squeal of excitement for you} how awesome about the gym scale?!?!?!!!

KENYA! WooHOO and Big WHOOP WHOOP as well!!

To KENYA & HEATHER both - Sometimes the road ahead looks so long, but time flies… faster all the time! It’s what we choose to do with that time. Here you are with that time behind you and WOW, what you’ve done with it and have to show for it! BRAVO! And THANK YOU for sharing with and encouraging us!! What a difference a year makes!!!

AMMI, I have NO idea what any of these is {quorn, mince, Bolognese} but considering they all are in the food category, I’m sure I’d love them. I hope I get a chance to try them sometime. You’re right about scaring the FFM away with that frosting. I started dropping weight really fast when I first came home, but now I’m settling into the rhythm of eating well and exercise and she’s just LOOKing for a reason to abandon me. Frosting would do the trick, not to mention make me miserable with cravings.

ZELMA, It’s the truth, you look simply smashing in all of those outfits! {Insert whistle smiley here!} I have to vote for the gray slacks and dark top I think. You have such lovely taste in clothes, in addition to all your other talents and gifts. I bet that last skirt & top outfit swishes and feels incredible just to move in. I love the wrap, too.

LILION – yeah, as a matter of fact she mentioned something about it. (Icing can in her room that is.)

Go Nelie! Go Nelie! Go Nelie!! I’m looking forward to hearing your official reading!!!
Off to the barn to play horsies – Woo-Hoo!

Yes Nessa - We've been friends for so long, but haven't talked in MONTHS and haven't seen each other in over a year for various reasons. So we've not been supporting each other thru this and a truely supportive friend is both wonderful and rare, which is something that she and I discussed last night. When she began WW, with a group of ladies from work, they said they were all serious. She's the only one who's stuck with it and now everyone is trying to tempt her with goodies. When my office did the "Show-Me Shape Up" which was a State program, I felt like I was the only one in the office that was serious. The 15th of each month is "snack day" and I'd bring FF muffins or bean dips or WW cake and the other ladies would bring Krispy Kremes and Queso dip. TICKED me off! My best friend SO needs to watch her weight. She's a bit bigger than me at the moment and diabetic to boot and at only 39 has had a minor heart attack. She eats any thing she wants and complains about her wieght. She also tries to feed me every chance she gets. Won't listen to me AT ALL. Refuses to even switch to 2% milk instead of whole! I fully expect my best friend to die young and it hurts me so. But she won't listen and I'm tired of trying to talk to her about it. I've thanked God daily that my DH is doing this with me...because I don't think I could have done it without him with all the sabotague.

Well- the dreaded happend- I'm up 5 pounds!! I deserved it with how bad I've been eating. I hope that I'm looking at mainly salt intake, and that with good commitment I can be down by friday- my official weigh in day. I guess seeing that scale go up really hit me when I was at the gym today, because typically I just do the weight lifting class, but today I also did 35 minutes on the elliptical. I hope that put a good starting dent in recovering. I hope that on Friday I can not up my tracker- that it will be at least the same, if not lose some....how did I do this to myself?

okay- I have to run, got franky still and need to eat lunch- I'm having a salad!

Lilion.. I know that my husband and I started on SBD because we were so afraid of dying. His dad and grandfather are insulin dependent. His brother has a blood sugar of 600 if he does not watch it.

My dad has diabetes and a heart condition. eating better is critical to us.

I find it easier to not tell folks we are on a diet just that we eat better.

Kim, you know it has to be water mostly since it takes 3500 calories to make a pound and I DOUBT you had 17500 calories EXTRA this past week.

Hi all,

Zelma, I love a fashion show, so I couldn't resist jumping in with my opinion. You look great in all of the outfits. For the contest though, I like the black ruffled blouse and gray pants best. You look so tiny in it.

Kenya, Congratulations on 100 lbs gone. That is such a success!

Ammi, Sorry to hear of all of the problems your mom is having with your brother. I have a brother who is mentally ill and lives with my mom. He is such a trial for my mom when he won't take his medicine. I know it must be extra hard for you due to the distance. I hope contacting the police will help.

Kimpossible and Ayanna, I'm so sorry.

Valerie, I had to laugh at your story about the note. At least she's not leaving the cake out now.

Things have been so busy lately that I took the morning off from church while my family went. So I had a couple of hours in the house by myself. A rare occurrence. I went through my closet and tried on clothes because there were a lot that I knew didn't fit anymore. I ended up getting rid of 33 tops, 6 pants and two dresses. I don't have much left that still fits. I ended up keeping some things that were really too big just to have some things hanging in the closet. I'm going to post them on a freecycle website later today and hope that I can swap them for some size 18/20 clothes.

The scale was down another lb today. I haven't exercised yet today, but I bought myself a new toy last week - a Creative Zen Vision M (digital music and video player) and I've been busy adding music to it to take walking. So I have lots of incentive to do my walking after it cools off today.

Hi to everyone.
