I agree... Valerie that is hysterical!!! Going a bit far? Wellllll... you neve would have KNOWN it if you hadn't been sticking your finger in the frosting can!
Hey! I just realized I missed my one-year exercise-versary. Last year on Sept 3rd I made a commitment to exercise regularly. I had started exercising before then, but at that point I began more seriously tracking my minutes. If my calculations are right, then since then I have exercised 9469 minutes -- over 157 hours, or 6.5 days!!!
on that day over a year ago my records show I got on the treadmill for 25 minutes -- it was my longest stint to that point in my weight loss effort and it looks like I walked about a mile (though maybe less!)
Today, I walked for 80 minutes to and from our downtown over 4 miles and in between lifted weights at the gym for 30 minutes!
Hey guys... just up for a chicken soup break and more nyquil of course! (For those that don't know what the is, a liquid green cough/cold remedy that taste like unmentionables!) I feel super awful but I will kick this so I will be ready for work tomorrow. I am just hoping that the I don't pay for this sodium too much
Lilion ~ Thanks, I needed a good laugh this morning
Ayanna~ Sorry
Heather ~ Way to go on SO much exercise
Katt ~ Sounds like you had a great time at the festival. Way to go on being so strong! I would have been all over that potato!
Nellie~ Someday I hope I can build up to hiking.... I think it would be awesome! Good job!
K guys, my eyes are closing and the soup is gone. Gotta finish my litre of H20 and head back to bed. I'm sure I'll be back later... Since my troat is so sore you all are the only ones I can talk to
Hello Ladies.... Well it is offical-- One year ago today I started living a healthy life. Eating better with a goal to make myself healty. Now I am so happy to say that exactly one year later on the nose I am 100 pounds lighter. So now to reach my first main goal I still have 100 pounds to go! I like the ideal for having to shed only a extra 100 pounds. Sounds silly doesn't it but when I first started the very ideal of me having to shed 200 pounds made me so sad. Now today I am not sad but confident that I will reach my main goal! I am going to start saving now for the Brest lift/implant I may need. I am not very impress the way my breast are looking but I am so happy for me
WTG Kenya! We are so happy for you too Its so comforting to me that we have the same goal (to lose 200) and you are halfway there. Keep up the great work girl!!!
It's Sunday, it's sunny, and I have just done MORE washing. But this time it was just our bath robes. The weather was nice so I thought they could do with some freshening up. Other than that I only have to cook tea tonight, and the rest of the day is my own. Daren made pasta bolognese last night, enough for last night's meal and todays, so that's lunch sorted out lol. He used quorn instead of mince and oh my gosh, it's still delicious, but with much less points than your ordinary bolognese. Just 4.5 points for a bowl of it with pasta!!! I like meals like that, filling yet low in points.
Heather - I know how it feels to be in bigger sizes than other people the same weight as you who are in smaller ones. I know it's all down to body shape and how much muscle a person has compared to fat, but it still tickles me how I can be in size 26 - 28 clothes when I weigh just 7 lbs more than Sharon who is in size 18s. Crazy huh The rate I am going I am going to have to be classed as underweight before I fit into a size 12
Happy exercise-aversary One year of exercise done and dusted, you made a commitment and you stuck to it, you should be really proud of yourself
Kimberly - how are you feeling today, are you still in need of lots of You know the best part about going off track a bit on a diet? Apart from how yummy the food is, It's the fact that we CAN start with a clean slate. Forget the bad week you had, and do what you said, wake up on Monday with determination to stay on track. As far as I am concerned it's ok to have little slip ups, as long as we don't give up altogether. Ok with slip ups we may take longer to get to our goal weight, but if we quit dieting, we will never get there. Every time I have dieted I have failed and then gained weight, right to the point that I got to 329 lbs. I realise that if I fail this diet I may as well resign myself to a life bed bound because if I can't take control and keep control of my weight this time I never will. It's good motivation to keep going!
Ok, let's hope you are just emotional post TOM and from being tired rather than being pregnant. Let's leave that til you have lost some more weight and are ready for being a mommy
I am so sorry that you have experienced losing your sister from a murder. You said it in a nutshell about them being stolen from you. It must be horrendous and I feel for you, Ayanna, your families and everybody else who have had to live with that
Nelie - your dress was $99 it looks far more expensive than that. How lucky to get such a gorgeous dress for such a bargain. November 19th, that's just 4 days before the date I got married. It's a lovely month to get married Our wedding cost around the same as yours, only our money included the outifts for me and Daren, the flight's to Vegas, the hotel for 8 nights and the wedding itself I know people like big weddings, but they can be so stressful, I think the way we did it is the perfect way
Ziggy - I must have missed some of your posts, where are you moving to? Is the move just so you are closer to your family or for other reasons too? Well wherever it is I hope you will be happy, and that when you get a new job you will be much happier there too.
Katt - well done on walking past all those delicious food temptations. I am always close to succumbing when I smell the fried onions that they put on the hotdogs mmmmmm As for the fudge, oh bliss, oh shhhhhh, stop it Ammi, no more thinking of such sinful food
Glad you got some lovely things at the festival. That soda syphon sounds gorgeous. Oh oh, is hubby a Trekkie? Daren's one lol. I am just glad when we got married in Vegas he was happy to have a traditional style wedding. Although he did say when we renew our vows he wants to do it Star Trek Style So if I have to dress up as Uhura, or in one of the more modern trouser (pants) suits, I have a lot of weight loss and toning up to do
Thanks for your comments about my mum's situation. As far as I know my brother doesn't have a record for his drug abuse, or of his violence. As for him legally not being allowed to stay there, mum told the officer that and was pretty much told oh well you'll both end up on the streeet then!!! She owns a mobile home, but leases the land it's on, and why that means she can't have people living with her I don't know. Anyway the owner of the caravan park knows the situation now and apparently is going to speak with their solicitors. Now if this is to get rid of mum, or to help her get rid of my brother I am not sure. I just pray it's not the former
If she can get him out then I know she want's to get some kind or restraining order on him, but he's not the type to pay attention to those, and I just know he will just cause more trouble and heartache for my mum. Oh well I just hope the police will answer my email and perhaps give me some advice I can give to mum.
Valerie - between you with your frosting story, and Misti with her water aerobics tales, I can't help but laughing. Your friend is so wicked writing those notes and putting them in the frosting containers Are you sure she didn't have a hidden camera set up to capture the moment on tape It's a good job those containers were empty of temptation though because that might have been the deciding factor as to whether or not you scared the FFM away I am sure she will still visit you now!
Brenda - I am sorry you are still feeling so unwell. Don't go forcing yourself to go to work if you aren't up to it. You will only set your recovery back and pass all your germs to everybody else. Take time to get better
Sharon - how is the eye today, hope it isn't looking too bruised. I hope you are having a lovely weekend, speak to you soon
Ok better go now, take care all and bye for now,
Hugs,
Ammi

Reason: to finish post :)
OK, I said I would post a few pics, and I also need your advice. Sorry for posting them here, but I don't want them to be missed on the pics page.
This first one is just showing off my new jeans. The sequins that you can hopefully see on the right thigh are also repeated on the bottom of the left leg. I just LOVE them and can't wait to wear them tomorrow.
These next three are my choices for what to wear to the Slimmer of the Year luncheon. Remember, I want to look SO good that they will be really happy with their choice if I have won, and they will WISH I had won if I didn't.
This first one is my first choice I think. The invite says "smart casual", so I think this one works for that. You can't really see how lovely the top is. It is a satiny (good word?) material with a ruffled neckline. It is a kind of 'steely' black, not pure black.
This next one is a deep chocolate brown colour and it has beading on the shoulders and under the bust. I tried it without the 'wrap', but it looks a little plain. I'm just not sure that the wrap works with the beading, or whether they compete with each other. I also don't know whether it will be too 'dressy'.
This last one is a little 'dressy' too I think. It is a skirt and top and I just LOVE it, but I'm not sure it shows off my figure the same way the dark top and pants do. It is my colours though, so I'm really not sure.
Any suggestions or favourites are most welcome. I am going to take a copy of the pics into work to see if anyone there has any ideas, but I really would value your opinions. I know that it is hard to tell just from one photo, but I would appreciate it if you could give me some ideas. I am going for the dark top and the pants at the moment, but I truly am a little unsure.
Thanks everyone, and sorry again for taking up space with the photos.
Kenya - wow 100 lbs down in a year, that is awesome, congratulations I bet it feels wonderful to say you only have 100 lbs left to lose!!! I am so happy for you, I hope you are feeling very proud of yourself.
Zelma - got to say it, you look fabulous in ALL of the photos !!!! Personally I love the second outfit out of the choice of three, but like you said it might be a bit dressy, so therefore I would chose the first outfit, BUT, why not wear the lovely new black jeans that you are wearing tomorrow, with the blouse from the first of the 3 choices. I think that would look perfect. Sorry, can't remember if tomorrows occasion is anything to do with the slimming comp, memory like a sieve. If it is then obviously you don't want to wear the jeans twice, so again I have to say outift one is a winner for smart casual I can't wait to hear what you do end up wearing
Zelma~ I'm with Ammi on both counts. I think the first one is probably the one that is the least "dressy" and you look super slim I also think that the new jeans would look nice with the top in the first pic....
Zelma the jeans are lovely and I think the dark/black-ish top would look lovely with them!
Ammi I stayed at losing the weight I gained on holiday, but TOM has started properly now. I spent over four hours yesterday mowing and strimming the lawn and I haven't done the bottom bit yet! I had to go over it several times as the grass was long and needed to dry a bit to get cut properly. My eye didn't go properly black, I have a light blue bruise in the corner and a lump under it, my glasses hide it and when I wear my contacts I wear make up, and after hiding bit spots a little pale bruise should be a doddle! The sun is shining here too, though at 7am it was so misty I couldn't see further than the top patio, it only cleared up this afternoon.
I have to go & do lunch, I will do some replies etc then
xxxsharon
Zelma, all of the outfits are gorgeous! However, since they said "smart casual" I would go with the first one.
Ayanna... I am so sorry for your loss... sending prayers your way!!!
Good morning to everyone else... as usual no time for personals. But I got up and went to the gym at 5 AM and spent my time there so I should be excused.
Tomorrow will be kind of fun.... I am meeting my first 3FC chick in 3D... having lunch with someone who lives close to me!!!
Thank you for your kind words regarding my brotehr inlaw. All I really want to do for my sister is help with everyday things like making sure her three small children are eating well and provide a shoulder to cry on. i am heading down to see them later in the month.
Ammi- I am shorter than many of the ladies here at 5ft 3inche. I find that I am in larger sizes at lower wieghts also. I curently wear size 24. I would like to post pictures but I have not gotten around to figuring it out yet.
Kenya- 100 pounds is awsome!
Kimberly- Thank you for sharing your story. It hits me in waves as I remember and think of all of the things that will never be.
---------------------------------
I seem to do lots of reflection on how i got to this size and how i can make this change a life style change. I just want to be stronger and healther. I am not trying to be skinny.
About a year ago I started driving after about 10 years of bus riding and walking. For the first time in my life i own a car. this has reduced how much i walk and it has changed how i eat. Driving i can jump in the car whenever i have an urge to eat something and go get it. So I now have access to all types of resturants and yummy foods. I am going to try to plan better to eat food i cook at home and carry healthy snacks with me like fruit, carrot sticks, and protien bars. i love to cook but now that I live alone and eating out is so easy i am struggling. Someone mentioned having one day a week to treat your self with a special meal. i am sorry i do not remember who is having success with thus but i am going to limit eating out to one day a week. This will be great for my budget as well.
It looks like rain here i better get out and walk before it rolls in.
Zelma- Gosh- it's so hard you look really beautiful in everything. I have to agree that I really like the dress with the wrap. however, the first is less dressy and will show off your figure a bit. Whichever you choose- you'll have the desired effect "Remember, I want to look SO good that they will be really happy with their choice if I have won, and they will WISH I had won if I didn't." I'm so excited for you!
I don't have time for personals because my weight lifting class is in a bit. I figure if I've been horrid with my food choices, I'd better at least stay 100% with my excercise. Maybe they can counteract each other? I hope so, I just don't want to gain, after how bad I've been.
Today is a new day...crossing fingers. I really need that new shipment of food to come & fast...
