Welcome Matriska!! You are going to really enjoy it here! Ok ladies I am up again at 4:30 and getting ready for school! All is well but since I am so short on time I can't do any personals. I am wishing everyone a great OP day! I am taking my lunch again to school today. I find that this helps me stay OP. Anyway you ladies are simply wonderful and I just needed to say thanks to all of you for the support. it has made a huge change in my life! Take care ladies!

Hi All,

Rats, rats, and double rats Beth came home from her dad's on Sunday and she was smothering with a cold, and guess who's getting it now? ME! Yep, just in time for my trip to London too. It wouldn't be so bad except because of my stupid immune system when I get a cold I get it and want to hold on to it. Oh well, I shall just dose up on lots of vitamin C, lots of hot drinks, and hope that the worse will have come and go by the time I go away

Brenda - that's great news you had a loss, how much was it? It's great that the scales are on the downward trail.

So sorry to hear about the camping trip, it was a bit of a disaster thanks to the weather wasn't it that storm sounded dreadful, and I can totally relate to having to spend the next day in a damp tent. Yuck. When I was 12 I went with the school on a camping trip. My mum packed my ruck sack, and had the frying pan packed in such a way that unbeknowns to me it was rubbing against my back for the whole hike to the camp site. You should have seen the wound I had, ouch. Then it rained for 2 days on and off. The teachers were all there under their canopy with a fire going cooking their food, while us kids had to fend for ouselves in the rain. Good job mum packed me some already cooked sausages!! The girl I was sharing a tent with didn't bring a ground sheet or fly sheet, so our tent was soaked, as were we inside it. That was one weekend I never want to repeat, in fact it put me off camping and I have never been since!!!

Newsnerd - your party sounded wonderful, and not only did you enjoy your home made pizza, but you had the joy of knowing MIL was going home

Well you have proven something haven't you, you can have a treat and then you can get right back on track with the diet and exercise. Well done.

Thanks for the congrats on my weight loss, I don't know how I will do this week now that I am feeling rough. I shall try to perservere with the exercise at least

Kenya - I bet you were smiling from ear to ear, kind of like the Cheshire Cat when you were shocking all the people in school with how much weight you had lost. Best kind of NSV there is

Kimberly - yes you are very right, slow and steady wins the race That's great news about the job interview, that you will hear soon that the job is yours!!!

A huge to you now for not giving in and going out for a good meal as you had already made a few mistakes with being OP. That's always been one of my downfalls, and ruined many diets, thinking oh well you have gone over your points now anyway, why not eat what I want and get back on track the next day. Only half the time the next day never came, not diet wise anyway. You did so well not going for that burger, I am really proud of you

Matrishka - hello and You have definitely come to the right place to be amongst people who will encourage you all the way with your weight loss

You certainly have a lot to deal with health wise and you should be really proud of yourself for not letting it be a reason to give in and stay overweight. I can't say I have seriously thought about being able to cut off my fat, but I sure as heck wish it was as easy as going to the docs and having it all cut off. Still it would be just like WLS wouldn't it, unless the mind changes too the chances are the weight would just pile back on. So it's diet all the way for me, well for all of us here, and I am sure over time we are all going to reach our goals.

What a relief for you that you no longer need to be on meds for diabetes, that's one less obstacle for you to overcome.

I have a friend, not from this site, that is following the glycemic diet. She says that although the weight loss is slow, if nothing else she is feeling so much more energy than she used to, and sleeps better too. Personally, as much as I want to lose weight, I don't want the effort involved in having to work out what food I can eat with what, and having all those rules and regulations. I am much happier on Weight Watchers where I can eat what I want as long as I stay in my points range

By the way, you don't sound pathetic, you were open and honest about your life and what you have been through. You are so far from pathetic though because you have come through all that life has thrown at you and here you are trying to lose weight and take control of your life I am sorry hubby isn't more supportive of your trying to diet, but I am sure you will get more than enough support from all of use here!!!

Sue - some people can deal with and enjoy weighing daily, sometimes more than once a day. I am not one of those people and it seems you aren't either. So good luck in resisting the temptation to weigh. Also I think it's a great idea for you to get yourself measured, because yes, on weeks where you don't lose, or don't lose as much as you would like, it does help a LOT to see at least on the tape measure that your body is getting smaller.

Congrats on one of the best NSVs apart from people noticing your weight loss, lol, you didn't cave in when you wanted to. that's fabulous.

Angie - wow half a lean cuisine filled you, I wish a whole one would fill me lol. Actually I don't eat LC but I do have the occasional WW meal and I could always have at least another one and some chips (fries) with it Guess my tummy still has a fair bit of shrinking to do

Missy - how did you do on your WI today, I hope you lost the -2 you hoped for. In the mean time you can be really proud of how many inches you have lost Another pretty fantastic NSV.

Jen - well done and big congats on your 2 lbs loss What a great way to start the day, seeing the lbs coming off EDIT EDIT EDIT....I just saw that Heather read your post PROPERLY and you didn't say you lost 2 lbs, but that you ARE IN TWOTOWN!! So a much bigger is in order. Congrats!!!!!

Sharon - how's all the packing etc going, I bet it's hard to pack for the boys, they must go through a lot of clothes so you need to pack plenty

Hope to catch you on MSN later, got to go exercise when I am done here, but when I am finished I will be back and will put MSN on.

Kayley, Annie, Crock, Nancy, Lilion, Valerie, Jill, Zelma, JuleeC, MariaLucia, SueMarie, Catherine, Mel, Xena, Esmeraude, Juliet, Brandnewme, and everbody else I have missed hope you are all doing well.

Hugs,

Ammi

Jen--CONGRATS on getting out of the 300s!! Isn't it a great feeling...great enough to motivate you to never get back up there again!

Ammi--sorry to hear about your cold I'm the same way with illnesses...they grab hold and just don't want to let go! Of course, it doesn't help that I can't take many medicines because I am allergic. I can only take Tylenol, and even Tylenol Cold doesn't do much for my symptoms. So definitely keep up the Vitamin C, hot drinks, maybe some hot soup, long hot baths/showers...and hopefully you'll at least feel improved, if not completely better, in time for your trip!

Kimpossible--ugh, you're making me drool thinking of Sonic Lucky for me, we don't have Sonic around here, but we did have them all over when I lived down in Va Beach. Now, whenever we go to vivist my sister in Va Beach, a trip to Sonic is always on our itinerary! Great job to you, though for resisting!

Melissa--I love thinking of things in fractions...saying you're 1/5 of the way there sounds so much better than saying, "ugh, I still have X amount to go!" I think it's a much more positive perspective.

Matrishka--welcome to the group! I've been on this site for about a year and a half now, and everyone is soooo understanding and helpful, rather than overly competitive or snooty as I've seen on other forums. Glad you found us!!

As for me, I stuck to plan yesterday and am starting Day 2 of this cycle on the right foot as well. I've already lost 2 of the pounds I gained during my 3 days off, and should lose the rest pretty easily since it's likely an overload of sodium (like Nelie said). I have increased my water yesterday and will do so again today to help flush some of that crap out. But so long as I weigh less on the last day of this cycle than I did on the last day of the first cycle, then it's still a working plan, and even with the weekend gain, I'm still down multiple pounds from when I first started Of course, I know it would all be easier if I would incorporate some dang exercise into my routine...maybe once I've completed this second cycle and am sure I have a firm grasp on controlling my food intake, I'll work on adding exercise as my next goal
