  • WELCOME !!!

We are a group of individuals who weigh or have weighed 300+, or near there. This group was formed to provide a place for others like us to find support and hope. We are aware of the distinct problems that come with weighing over 300 lbs.

We want to invite everyone to join us in our journey.
    We share laughter and tears.
We share what works for us and what doesn't.
We often use a "Topic of the Day" for discussion.

    Motivational Monday
    Tuesday Tips
Wednesday Wish List .. and What you are doing to obtain it.
    Thankful Thursday
FUN Friday ... don't wait until you lose your weight.
Sit-up Saturdays - any physical activity
    Share your Success Sunday

These are not required topics ...just ideas to share. We often find them very helpful. We also share heartaches and fears ... joys and celebrations.

We have several extra threads going on simutaneously such as Monthly Challenges, Weekly Weigh-ins, Recipes, Bios, and more. Please feel free to check them all out.

We have found this thread to be more than just a support group...
we have found it to become a home. We invite you to join us.

    WELCOME!

I know you'll all agree that we are really thankful for the free services here at 3FC. The sisters offer all of this support and information with no charges to us. There are a couple of ways though that we can help out.

If you are thinking about buying anything at Amazon, why not help out 3FC at the same time? You can do this by clicking on the button for Amazon on any page in the forum, or by clicking on the button on the main 3FC page at www.3fatchicks.com . A portion of your purchase price will be given to 3FC by Amazon. It doesn't increase your price at all, but it does help out 3FC. You can use any of the Amazon.com links that you see on the site in order to help contribute to the site.

Also, BTW, in case you didn't know it, you can view the message boards "ad free" for a minimal charge. I think it's like $15 for 6 months. A very small investment to be rid of the annoying ads and make your pages load quicker.

There have been some concerns expressed by the powers that be about copyright infringement. So please, if you are directly quoting someone else or printing an article in whole or in part, please give credit where credit is due!!!!
  • Hi again, Sugarkube!

Wow, guess we ARE neighbors. Since you have lived in Seattle you will be familiar with the area... so I actually live in north Bothell up towards the Mill Creek area! It's great having you here in the forum!
  • Hello everyone!

Well I am down a few more wicked lbs today. Thats good since I know I have been carrying lots of water around.

A big Hello to Katt and SugarKube. You ladies have certainly found a great place!

Today is payday so I have a few things to go and pay and there are groceries to buy. When I take my neice and nephew with me they seem to learn alot cause their mum fills em full of crappy processed stuff ALL THE TIME so when I buy things that they have never seen then they ask alot of questions. It may not make a difference in the way they eat at home but I can only hope that I make a difference in the way they may eat when they are older and cooking for themselves.

Tonight a friend and I are going shopping in the city. Steven is working nights and the kids are going to be gone with their parents. YEAH! It will be fun and I need to make a trip to get beads for more jewellry. I am going to try to make a line of Bling Bling for children (little women in training) I had a bunch of little ones drooling over the bracelets and earrings so I'm gonna try it

Anyhoo I am off and running for the day. Have a great OP one girls and stay strong.... We will win!

  • good for you brenda on your loss!
  • Tracey, I don't know about the big boobs thing, I only know about the big butt thing. My bottom is usually a size bigger than my top. When I went to get my bra sized at Lane Bryant, they told me I was a 42D, I was like uhh no. I swim in some C cups so I don't think so

I know someone asked about heat and weight gain. I know the heat makes you retain more water so the number on the scale may be slightly higher. TOM also makes you retain water. I just wish the heat would stop, really. My first summer on the east coast hasn't been the most welcoming
  • Well, I have a good start to my day!! I am down -3 this week even with TOM and the bloaty heat thing (ya it was me that asked about that)!

AND, I'm at goal #1 of 299 today! weeee haaaa

Misti I am just north of you on Vancouver Island so I'm getting the same weather and I know what you mean, usually it is NOT that hot here. It's usually a nice temp. Not too hot, not too cold. Last night it cooled off a bit so I'm happy about that!!

Welcome to Sugarkube! Nice to see you here. I know you can do it!! I'm glad you decided to post

    ~ Angie
  • Congrats to Angie on achieving her first goal!!!!!!

  • Hello all.... I finally have inernet connecion again. We never lost power like everyone else but the storm did shut down our phone lines and cable. Many places in S. Louis are still without power so we are very lucky that we never lost our power.

Angie- Super congrats on meeing your mini goal. I can't wait to join you in the 200's. I am very happy for you!

Zelma- thanks for looking a my pictures. Your kind words really meant a lot to me
Everyone who has los weight congrats and keep up he good work.
  • Hi everyone!

Misti: I know Mill Creek and Bothell. I'm heading up in mid-August for a wedding for a good friend of mine. They're getting married at the Shilshoe Beach Club but live in Mount Lake Terrace.

Thanks for the warm welcome, everyone! I'm so glad to be here!

I started out all right this morning. I got up early to head to the gym and right as I was walking out the door, my SIL asked me to watch her kiddo's for the day. Since I don't get to see them that often, I obliged. I figure I'll head over in the afternoon instead, despite the heat! Blech.

I got on the scale this morning as this is my official start day. Still the same but that's to be expected!

    Have a great day, ladies!!!!
  • Brenda - Hiya hun .. glad to see you here Definitely one of the best sites I have found for sure ... oh the joys of surfin!

Angie .. BIG WTG on reaching your goal hun!! Seems a long way away for me ... but I'll get there .. have my first weigh in tomorrow lol ..

Thanks for the info on the heat and TOM issue .. learn something new every day

Rkrs - welcome back .. glad to hear you got through the storm ok and that you are able to get back online and into the WWW

Oh .. just thought of something I want to talk about ... but will make it a new post lol .. topic I mean lol .. bbl
  • Thanks everyone for the congrats! I set my next goal to be 20 pounds total (so another 5 more to go) before my husband gets back in 2 weeks. After that I think my next goal will be another 20. and another, and another

I did hear on the news some people have no power and it's SO hot where that's happening. They must be just melting. It was hot here on the weekend but it's not as bad today. yay!

Everyone here is doing really great, awesome huh!?
  • Hello everybody... happy Tuesday! Yah this heat is something, huh?

Angie, wow this is so unusual, huh? I thought my thermometer must not be working right as one day last week it said 101...but a friend told me today that it really HAS gotten that hot a few times! But fortunately it does cool down at night most of the time. Right now I have two fans going and am getting a bit cold yay and am looking forward to crawling under my quilt and enjoy it while it lasts.

I am trying hard to get in what exercise I can though am way below my usual amounts. I put my water bottle in the freezer at work and take it with me at noon walks. LOL today I stuck it in the back waistband of my pants!! Hey, whatever works!

Finally did lose a pound today, yay! Have been in a slump lately so that was an encouragement.

    Everyone hang in there!!!!
  • Morning Everyone!

Boy its quiet here today. You all still sleeping?? *L*

Not much to report. My fav clothing store starts their big ole clearence sale today. 50% off of the 50% off. That is when I take a little extra money and buy some stuff that doesnt fit yet. I cant wait cause I use it as a great motivational tool especially when I can find awesome stuff that I really want to wear. Right now I am still in a 26-28 jean so I will buy some 24's to work on. Things will be much easier for me once I get back to work.

We went out for breakfast today. Thankfully eggs and meat are good ole SBD staples. I only had a bite or two of my toast and steve downed the rest. It isnt something that we do very often so it was a nice treat.

My friend is coming over to spend the day today. We are going to be making some jewellry as my stock is low and she is just getting interested in it so I will help her in the process. Time goes by quicker with a buddy.

There goes the laundry buzzer so I'm off for now. Maybe I will get a chance to update my blog today...

Have a good one girls. Stay strong and perservere!

    Brenda
  • Well I caught up with the posts I missed yesterday, guess where I spent most of Tuesday, the hospital. I was carrying a bucket of wet washing down the garden and I stumbled on some stones the boys had left on the grass. As I fell I kept thinking "oh no, not again" over and over; weird how time can be distorted in times of stress or pain; I'd broken my ankle the same way a year or so ago. The same ankle, in the same place! I shouted the boys to fetch me the phone loads of times, normally they can't keep their hands off it, but they kept running off, luckily our lovely neighbour, Derek, heard and I asked if he could help, "Was I in difficulties?" just a bit, lol!! I had to pull my joggers up a bit; from losing weight they are very loose!; and my t shirt down before he came. Luckily Steve was on nights so Derek just got Steve up for me. I had to crawl up the garden so the ambulace could get to me and the slabs on the patio were so hot I almost burnt my hands, as I'd done this all before I got up the garden pretty quickly though, the paramedics were really good, but the humiliation of being fat with a suspected broken ankle, I KNEW people in the hospital were looking at me and thinking it was my own fault for being FAT.The male nurse who dealt with me was horrible and I didn't even get the right size crutches!!!! But whilst I was waiting for Steve to pick me up I found a porter with some crutches he was putting away, so he swapped them for me and checked they were set at the right height. I'd had a migraine which probably contributed to my fall and because of this I hadn't eaten, it was now 5pm so he took me to a McDona**s drive through, ugh, it was vile, I ate some fries & drank my diet coke but the chicken was horrible. I got home & had some kebab & booze, I was just to upset, tired, in pain and pi**ed off to be OP. Today is a fresh day, even if I can't exercise I can eat right. There was no one to check my xray exept a nurse & he said it wasn't broken so I have to rest a couple of days and gradually start to walk again & move more.
Sorry for the moan, I am so fed up at the mo & huby is a rubbish nurse!!! I'm wating for breakfast, still!!! He's had to book a couple of days off & he's had enough of the boys already!!! at least he knows why I'm tired at 5pm!!!
    Hope you are all well,
    xxsharon
  • Sharon -- Sounds like a pain! (heh. literally)... but at least it's not broken! keep your spirits up!
