Got to the gym this morning...didn't want to again, but I'm feeling pretty good right now. Gotta work at 1 and don't really want to. I'm hoping I can kick this blah feeling soon...cause it stinks. We're supposed to be going to the movies tomorrow...I'm excited about that one. Maybe that's what I need to get outta the funk. Went to bed relatively early last night and slept relatively late compared to my usual. Not sure if it's just my body freaking out cause this is my first week of substantial exercise regularly or if something else is going on. For now I'm counting it as my body not being used to so much activity. Hope everyone has a fabulous day!

Ammi -- Don't worry about the threads changing. I think I'll be okay with it!

As for sabotage, I'll have to see what happens as I get lower. I deliberately have set a "goal" that is just out of obese, but have no idea what happens after that. Kayley's right that maintenance is a whole nother thang, but I am trying to start thinking like a maintainer (whatever that means). Not sure whether that's really possible or not. All kinds of things to look forward to!

I'm glad to hear you enjoyed your lunch. It makes such a difference when we like and love what we eat!

Melissa/villandra
-- I think you have the right attitude about the exercise and whatever you burned being gravy! I was thinking of giving swimming a try, and maybe it will burn a lot of calories away!

silentarctic -- an elliptical! I've tried them at the gym and hated them at first, but they have surely grown on me! congrats on your loss -- you'll be in the 200s in no time!

Annie -- DOWN 5! and you tried to slip it in all casual-like! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!

Well, I had some time off last night and before studying I decided to read an article by my hero, one of the greatest riders ever to through a leg over a horse, George Morris. Usually such things inspire me, but this time so many things went over my head that I ended up totally bummed out. There is SO much I’ve missed learning by the mistakes I’ve made and the life I’m stuck in, I just felt terribly sorry for myself….

So I decided to go exercise! I walked for a solid hour and was feeling better of course, when I discovered a 24 hour grocery. (It was 1:30 am in Sauk Center, Minnesota.) I started to browse and discovered the Natural Foods section. I spent a delightful hour choosing some flaxseed oil and a few other wonderful items, and then carried everything over the hill ½ mile back to the truck stop. It was wonderful!

I’ve been reading The FAT FLUSH PLAN that my girlfriend found at a garage sale and gave me. Anybody else ever read this?? It makes SO much sense, works perfectly in with SB, plus has a strong emphasis on Liver (and consequently Gall Bladder) health, which is of great interest to me. The flaxseed oil is one of the things the author recommends, so I was tickled to find it and I started on it today. She says that all the healthy Omega fats in it are necessary for the Liver, etc., to flush undesirables from the body and burn fat more effectively. I’m giving it a shot!!!

WELCOME SILENT ARTIC!

VILANDRA – Great NSV!!! I, too, suffer from back pain, although not as much as before. I remember that first full 10 mins, and it was a struggle! Keep it up! I promise you it’s worth it!! It sounds like you’re doing GREAT with both eating and the Pilates. I haven’t tried that yet, but I’d like to. I’ll have to check out the pic page and get back to you…

IDRIL – Have a GREAT rest of you BIRTHDAY today… and tomorrow it’s back OP

MARY B – LOL, I love your #4! “If I bite it I write it!” Go girl!!

MISTI – Congrats on making your 50 pound goal!! I understand about you NOT being into fantasy. That’s how I feel about romance novels, but I have a good friend who LIVES on them.

AMMI – I hope Darren’s Op appointment went uneventfully.

VooDoo – Sorry that the scale wasn’t being friendly. They can be SO fickle! Have a great visit with the folks…. Any chance you’ll see the Fell pony again?

CC – I’m with you on hoping my boobs deflate cuz they get in the way! And yes, Lane Bryant is the only place I’ve found comfortable bras. I just gave the puppy an old Wal-Mart slingshot-of-torture to play tug-a-war with. I certainly never intend to ever put that thing on again!!! Now, I hope your back OP and doing well. For me the first week or two is the hardest. We just have to jump back on when we slip.

WYLLENN – SOOOO proud of the way you handled your Blues cravings the other day!! Keep up the great exercise. You are, after all, QUEEN and head cheerleader of the weight pumping, bike peddling, mile walking, sweat beading, muscle flexing, heavy breathing, calorie burning Exercise Thread!

RKRS – Isn’t the zoo a great place to get exercise?! I’ve never been to St. Louis’s zoo, but it’s renowned for being really good. I can’t remember the last time I went, but I’d love to! I’m sure the kids liked it too.

KIRSKKA – The ginger pork sounds so good! I love ginger anything. As a matter of fact, last night I bought myself some citrus & ginger bath lotion – Divine.

ANNIE - <hugs> on your mouth problem – you’re in my prayers! I see you’ve dropped a few more pounds again. GOOD JOB!!

NANCY – I think you’re right about Wheel of Time slipping a little, but he still has me hooked. I just have trouble keeping track of ALL the characters, I even keep notes. It’s definitely a complex plot. I don’t really like Rand’s character all that much anymore, but, oh heavens now I can’t remember her name…. the young woman he’s involved with who had been a warrior but became a Wise One – I LOVE her. I’d name a daughter after her. 

PATTY – I found some kind of “Heart Healthy” popcorn or something recently that was far lower in carbs, cals & fat than most popcorn, and it was ‘kettle korn’ too – my FAVorite! I haven’t been able to track it down again, but when I do I’ll let you know.

HPNOTQ - Sorry you’re feeling blah, but GOOD JOB staying so O.P.!!

KAYLEY – I’m glad you had a nice visit with aunt & uncle. It would be cool if you and Andrew could vacation down there with them. Enjoy the joust!!!

Good to see you, CROCK. ZELMA, where U B? Hi to JULEE… getting closer to the Big Day! What’s up, JILLYBEAN, ROSIE, LUAN, BRAND NEW ME, MARIA LUCIA, TRACEY, SUE MARIE, XENA and a host of others we’re missing lately. If you’re lurking, just pop in and say Howdy, lest we think you’ve gotten too good for us.

Annie - Check out your second ticker. You must have added an extra number in there or something

Hello everyone. The humidity has finally lifted here in NY. Thank the Lord!!! We should a relatively humid free weekend. I'm hoping it is like this on Wednesday too when I want to take Mikayla to the zoo (okay, okay I admit. I'm the one that really wants to go.)

I am seriously PMS'ing right about now. Unfortunately during this time I love to drink soda, preferably Coke and I haven't been saying NO. So between PMS and soda, I am retaining some water. I probably won't weigh myself for the next couple of weigh-ins. I gain much weight between PMS and TOM. I've been going back and forth as far as whether I am going to do South Beach or not. Or rather whether I might not just skip ahead to Phase 2. I don't want to feel like I am depriving myself in any way because then I tend not to stick with it. Oh, I don't know. Next week I get money so I'll be going food shopping so I'll have made my decision by then. We'll see.

Thank you! I LOVE your description! You know what? A year ago if you had told me that someone would tell me this I would have never believed it. Yes, I did exercise occasionally, but I had never really managed such regular exercise before! I still frequently grumble about doing the exercise, esp when I'm putting on my shoes to go. But I made a promise to myself and so I keep on going. It's not bad once I get started, and if it helps inspire others, all the better!!!

Sounds like you're coming back to a better place again. Exercising while on the truck, reading healthy books, finding healthy food... and WOW, you have lost 50 pounds!!!! Think about it!!!!! 50 pounds!!!!!

YOU ARE GOING TO TO THIS, VALERIE!!!!! You have to believe it! I KNOW you can!!!!!!

Just a quick post before shopping.

Thank you for worrying Patti. It is lovely to know that so many people care and are keeping an eye out for me.

Things have just been very hectic this last week or so and I have been REALLY tired. I am not really worried that the B12 shots are not working, as EVERYONE at school has been walking around like zombies for a while. It is just the usual 'end of term' thing. I am on two weeks' break now, so I should get heaps of time to post.

Catch you all soon. I have SO much I want to comment on. That shouldn't be a surprise to anyone.

Take care,

Zelma

Hi All,

Well I think I am learning more and more about how this 'diet' really is a change in my lifestyle. Tonight I was toying with the idea of having something that was 2 WW points, but having it would have gone 1 point over my daily allowance. I tried to convince myself that it was ok to have it, and that I had a spare point from yesterday. But I didn't want to do it. I then couldn't help thinking of all the other times I have gone over my points on previous diets, it wouldn't be by 1 point it would be by at least 10. Now I don't want to even go over by 1 point. Amazing

Crock - glad to hear from you and that everything is going well. I am glad you got to have Mandy and Austin overnight, though I bet he wasn't miffed that he couldn't be the Hulk to your Spiderman, or visa versa depending on his mood

Have a great time tomorrow on the Powderpuff ride, I hope everybody has made the effort to make it a great one. I am looking forward to seeing the photos.

Silentarctic - I can't stand berries, so have never been keen on even trying the berry Special K. The Vanilla one really does sound like something I would love, so that it will be brought out over here soon.

Patti - I have never taken a liking to tumblebees, it get's me too worked up lol. I like Poppit and love Vaults of Atlantis slots, they are cool games. I like to play Spades, Canasta, PoppaZoppa, Jungle Gin, and Tri Peaks Solitaire the best. What video games do you like? Daren is totally hooked on Everquest.

Annie - woohoo, on the 5 lbs lost. I am really happy for you, onwards and downwards you go

Hpnotq - I am sorry you can't seem to lose the blah feeling you have. Kudos to you for making yourself still work out though. You are determined to get the weight off, now if only you could lose the blah feeling it would be so much easier. I hope you will go to the doctors to have a check up if you continue feeling like you do

Heather - I have every faith in you that when you get to goal you will be able to maintain that weight. You have come so far, you won't want to go back to the old you!

Rkrs - good on you for making the decision to lose weight not just for your sake, but for your family's as well. Your kids are at such a lovely age, no wonder they get so much enjoyment from seeing you dance around the house. Do they join in too

I love to hear about people who marry their childhood sweethearts, I think that is so romantic. I hope you will have a lovely long life together. Do you want to have any more children?

Valerie - good on you for going out to exercise when you were feeling down. That is so much more productive than comfort eating. You should be really proud of yourself.

Thank you for asking about Daren's appt. It wasn't the best news. He has signs of glaucoma and will either need surgery or will need to use eye drops for the rest of his life to stop it developing further. We are waiting for another appt for him to go back to the hospital to find out which he has to do.

Tracey - great news about the humidity levels dropping in NY, it seems to have taken ages hasn't it.

Sorry that you are PMSing and drinking to much soda. Do you think you will be able to substitue that for something less calorific in the future. It won't be nice for you if every time you are due TOM you put one weight through the bloating and the need for soda.

You said that when you diet you don't like to think you are depriving yourself of anything, have you ever tried WW? I think it seems like the best diet around when it comes to being able to eat what you want. You can even have soda as long as you count it in your points!

Zelma - lovely to see you posting, and that all is well. I am glad you have two weeks off now and I look forward to a nice chatty email and of course to see you posting here lots. Of course you will have to squeeze in lots of visits to the zoo, and the mall, and all the other great stuff you want to do Any news on the competition yet?

Well everybody it's time for me to go to bed now. Take care all and have a wonderful weekend!

Hugs,

Ammi
