If you don't mind, I think I will jump in for the remaining month of July.

Let's see...It is July 15th. For the remaining month of July, I hope to get in 360 minutes of exercise. That is 6 days/week of 30 minutes each day.

hpnotq -- Way to go on meeting your goal! I guess you're just going to have to set a higher one for August, huh?

45 for me today... 30 min lifting at the gym and 15 min bike ride. Hubby and I both can't believe how much easier it is for us to tolerate the heat now!! Whether it's the reduced fat around us or the fact that we're in better shape, I don't know, but I don't feel like melting!

Spent the day at the fair grounds at a horse show. Not lots of aerobics, but I got around during the course of the day. I wish I knew how many calories braiding horses was worth LOL. I'm going to give myself 2o minutes of exercize credit, but it feels like cheating.

Managed a couple of walks with hubby yesterday and today. 50 mins yesterday (poor hubby wasn't up to walking at a fast pace for any longer) and 80 today along the river. Today we went in the morning, but yesterday we went in the afternoon, after spending the morning walking around a few malls, so maybe that made a difference to hubby's stamina. We kept up a good pace today and probably covered over 5 miles.

Personal Goal... 370 - 130 = 240 mins left of July's goal of 1200

Group Total... 7601 + 130 = 7731

Ok - my convalescence is officially over, and I am back!! I did 20 minutes yesterday of walking which bring my total to 35. I am going to go for 700 minutes for July.

The group total is now 7,771 + 20 = 7,791

Nancy -- Welcome back! Take it easy on yourself!

Val -- I know what you mean about cheating counting walking around minutes. This is why I keep my pedometer on -- it tracks what it calls "aerobic minutes" which are at a certain, steady pace (though it lets you take short breaks, like to tie a shoe or wait for a light to change). It doesn't count them unless you walk for at least 10 minutes. So, now when I'm out and about, I record these aerobic minutes as exercise. It often motivates me to keep moving a minute or 2 longer than I might otherwise!

I had another great treadmill workout. I was thinking about how I am really able to do a more intense workout than I used to. Today I walked over 2 miles, but I did a lot of it at an incline, and I'm working in intervals of jogging. It used to be that I couldn't keep up at 4 mph, now I can choose to walk or jog at that pace and try to jog at 4.2 mph... and I'm working it up... I also used to have pain in my hip and back when I tried to jog, so I stopped. Now it's not there anymore!

Anyway, 40 min for me.

Group total ~ 7791 + 40 = 7831 minutes!

Over the past two days, I have gotten in 7 HOURS of exercise...in aerobic walking, and swimming!!!! :) That's like HUGE for me! I love the summer!!!!

Heather... LOL the pedometer also often "makes" me walk a bit longer as I am not going to go for 8 or 9 minutes and not get to count it. :)

I just did 20 minutes of dancing and 80 mins of water aerobics for a total today of 100 minutes.

Total for July = 1211
Goal 2000 - 1211 = 789 still to go

Group total 8281 + 100 = 8381

I just did 10 minutes of warm up (dance) and 60 minutes of weight training. It was hard not to be a bit discouraged by feeling I had fallen backwards from my time off. I just had to keep reminding myself that this will more than likely happen more than once in my life and the most important thing is to start back at it. I should be able to quickly work back up to where I was before, but I will be smart about it and not hurt myself. The last thing I need is an injury! That brings my total to 105.

The group total is 8381 + 70 = 8,451

Okay, as for me, only 25 min yesterday: walked the dogs and abs/back. I intended to do more but ended up spending many hours shopping for and cooking healthy food... such a struggle to keep the balance!

I did 30 minutes on the elliptical yesterday. I felt like I could have done some more, but I didn't want to push myself too much. It was a good thing too because I was REALLY sore this morning. That brings my total to 135 minutes.

Misti - That has to be water! Give it a few days and it should go as quickly as it came.

It is amazing how easy it is during the backsets to start thinking it won't happen and the loss will stop, etc. :) But I am NOT about to give up!!!!!!!! :nono:

LOL now you are all going to crack up at this... but this is SO HARD for me and I am going to count my minutes, no matter how pathetic they are! :) But I have a horrible time getting up and down out of the floor so I am practicing. I wanted to do 5 minutes but could only go 3... so I have 3 minutes to add! :) (Besides being so fat I have a "tricky" knee so this is NOT easy LOL.) If I don't count these, as small as they are, I won't do it... and I NEED to accomplish this goal!!

So 1363 + 3 = 1366
2000 goal - 1366 = 634 still to go

Misti, too funny. I just finished my Push.tv session and the biggest gripe I have is that he does floor exercises and then standing exercises and then back to floor. He is in the middle of the next exercise before I can get my body up and/or down, lol! Maybe I should practice too!

Misti -- You are so right that backsets can be debilitating... I think the mental game is such a big part of this whole process and that sounds like what you're talking about. Just know that those feelings WILL go away and we just have to push through it!

As for the exercise, I think counting those minutes IS something you should do! Anything that motivates us to do something healthy like that... I count my back exercises a couple of times a week. They aren't cardio or weights but important for my physical health, so I count it. I wouldn't want to count a ton of minutes a week for that, but I put those in the count too!

Got in 40 min of walking today -- it was in chunks, but a bit of heat was in the nasty humid heat.

Group total ~ 9606 + 40 = 9646 minutes
