Ammi -- *hugs* on the weight gain -- I gained a pound too this week, and didn't do anything off plan! Possibly last week when I was sick I was really well hydrated and this week I retained more water... oh well. I'm expecting that in the next little while that pound will go away... and take some friends with it.
Kayley--those dreads are sweeet! You remind me of a song from the 80s..you may be too young to remember it..."just you and me, punk rock girl!"
Tasha--Love the hair, girl!
Melinda--Girl I started out weighing more than you and this is not even the heaviest I have been! I topped out at over 360! My Dr never suggested surgery (not that she probably didnt want to ). Good for you for trying it your own way first. It cant be easy w/your doc and hubby pushing for surgery and it seeming like a quick fix. Sounds like you are going about it very healthily and making lifestyle changes is the way to go (I think...I've never lost a bunch of weight before...hee hee!!)
Ammi-- sorry about the weight gain. I have faith in you!
I lost another 5 lbs this week making 10 lbs total in 2 weeks! Yeah! I cant remember the last time I was below 340 so this is really awesome for me! I thought it was only 3 lbs but then I realized that the scale at Curves weighs me 2 lbs heavier than the scale at Weight Watchers. All I know is it initially weighed me at 348 and now says 338! Since I am not weighing at Weight Watchers anymore, just Curves, I changed my ticker and stuff to reflect my starting and current weight by the Curves scale so in the future I wont get confused! (AS easily at least!)
Way to go, AMY!!!!! That's kickin', seriously! Keep it up!!
How are you liking Curves? I'd like to join, but there's a lack of money/time on my end, so I just do my cardio dance as scary as that is!
It is fun....I'm just hating feeling myself jiggle all around...but that's to be expected, I guess...and there's less jiggle than when I first started, that's for sure!
Yeah, I know about the jiggle! I thought I lost my sports bra and about panicked! I have a hard enough time finding regular bras, much less sports bras!! HA!
I just noticed how VERY close you are to the 2's!! Dang girl, you rock on wit your bad-a$$ weight losing self! 46 lbs total..that is awesome! If you dont mind me asking, when did you start?
Go Crock and Tracey on getting into the two’s! And Kayley you are so close!
Melanie – Glad you had a good time in NYC. It is a great place to walk. It is so funny about the pizza – I am not that much of a fan of NY pizza. I would totally love a slice of Greek (spinach, tomato, feta) pizza from either Mellow Mushroom or Savage Pizza in Atlanta.
Kayley – Sorry to hear about your computer – that really sucks. But your dreads look too cool. Can’t wait to see the whole ensemble put together. Also, your new avatar pic is really cute. And don’t you dare feel guilty for eating a salad – that is just nuts!
Tashabella –Your hair looks really cute. Very nice!
Mindy – Welcome! I totally know what you mean about needing a non-structured plan. For me, calorie counting has been great because I don’t have a list of foods to remember. I know what you mean about the cost of healthy food – it seems so much more expensive sometimes. But then a lot of the packaged stuff can add up too.
Ammi – After the battery change my scale is showing a gain too, which I just can’t understand. I haven’t been PERFECT, but I have been pretty darn good. I am still retaining water though. My legs swell up and they haven’t gone back to normal. Hopefully another day of a lot of water and not sitting in the same position for 5 hours (long car trips are so bad).
Wyllen – Sorry to hear you are in the weight gain club too.
Amy – I remember that one - the Dead Milkmen. That came out while I was in high school I think. . . boy that brings back memories. Way to go on the loss – that is amazing.
Well, not that I feel the need to look like a celebrity, but if I were to look like someone, I think I would like to look like Zooey Deschanel’s character Kit in the new movie Failure to Launch. She was so pretty and quirky. It was a fun movie. We went to see it over the weekend with my BF’s parents. They chose it because my BF’s younger brother is still living at home.
I ordered a heart rate monitor and it is supposed to arrive tomorrow, which I am really excited about. I will be able to monitor my heart rate on the treadmill without holding onto the bars at the front. I also got a pedometer (I must stop buying gadgets!) which I will try to start using tomorrow.
Nancy - Thanks! I'll have to actually pose for a couple of pics in the hotel room before the concert. How was the movie? I wanted to see it, but Andrew absolutely HATES Sarah Jessica Parker. And I have no girlfriends anymore, except Susan, and she can't just leave whenever, cuz she has a family. Blah.
I'm constantly looking at workout dvds...I mean, I guess it's better to buy all this GOOD stuff, right?!?!
Kayley - My Andrew hates Sarah Jessica Parker too! I don't mind her, but I am not a huge fan either. She definitely has a certain charisma, though. All in all it was a cute romantic comedy. It's not going on my top 10 list or anything, but it was definitely entertaining. I thought the supporting cast really stole the movie though. There was Zooey and her issue with the bird out her window, plus her BF. There is a scene where she goes into a gun shop that is really hysterical. Also Kathy Bates was in it as the mother, and I always really like her.
I know what you mean about not having girlfriends to go do things with. For some reason I have had a hard time meeting people here in NY. Too bad we don't live closer - we could have a girls' night out!
I was tipped that this site is awesome and I cam ejust to take a look... I've looked for 3hours now
I have tried loosing since christmas and -4lbs is the result I know it's motivation thing. I feel lonely and have no one to talk to about this or anything... I just feel blaah. sorry about whining....
I don't write very good english but try to cope, I'm going to be here a lot!!!!
Tell me how you motivate yourselves to keep on loosing or trying to...
Kirsikka, where are you based? I'm in the UK but most people are from USA.
I hope everyone is well, Kayley your dreads are great, my best friend had hair extensions in the 80's which were dreads, they hung down to her waist but she couldn't get a bike helmet to fit!!!!! They made her head so big!!!
I really must get some photos sent to u of the jeans, we have been so busy, and put the photos of me horse riding. I'm sure it will give everyone a laugh, my hubby said the look of relief on the horse's face when I got off was brilliant, I hope he was lying!
Nancy my hubby calls SJP 'horse head' he REALLY hates her, I don't know why.
Wyllen, it must be the time of year, I'm really struggling to get OP and feel pretty down, though the cold weather, rain and snow don't help either. Today is a new day and we must seize it and get healthy NOW!!!
Violet, big congrats on losing another 5lbs, I hope I can join you soon, having good losses, sticking to plan should help me.
