Crock--I think that's a great idea! 7 pages is nothin'...if people can write BOOKS on the topic, I'm sure it'll be a breeze to write the paper!

Kayley--you are more than welcome to my old job, although I'm not sure I could sit back and let anyone voluntarily walk into this torture chamber I call a cubicle

Zed--I, too, am a procrastination pro I should have had this talk with Jeff back when everything blew up (late Octoner/early November), but I just kept telling myself it wasn't a big deal and pushing it away. Now that I've come to realize that my stress over our relationship is likely the reason I'm not sleeping well and frequently feeling paranoid, I really need to get it off my chest!

Kayley, it took ages sorting out photos, but I will get hubby to look at the camera & try to send them to you again.
Crock, is there a theme/area you have to use in your paper? getting down on paper what the tutor wants then seeing if the criteria matches Mothman would be a start, don't worry too much, I ALWAYS leave assignments till the last minute. Mothman sounds really interesting, I hope it can be used, I'd love a read of it!
I felt elated the other day losing the weight I had but TOM started, so with the operation and TOM I feel really down and want to eat choccy, biccies, crisps (chips) in fact ANYTHING WHICH ISN'T GOOD FOR ME. I know I should not give in, typing this is all that stands between me & a HUGE lump of cheese!
I hope you are all doing better than me!!!
Zelma, glad you are easing off a bit, you look great and if in a few weeks time decide to lose a little more thats ok, but having some time to maintain is so healthy, not just for your body, but so good for your mind-set. You are a SUCESSS!!!!!
Jennilyn, I hear you! we are all hear for one another.
Melanie, I don't know how you kept your cool about the luggage! I hope the airline gives you some kind of recompense.
Garnet, well done with the loss!!!
Jilly, sorry work is getting you down, I hope that you get something better soon. I get so sick of my job too, but as its looking after my two boys and hubby there isn't much I can do!
Hope I have remembered everyone, take care & keep healthy.
xxxsharon

Talking

Hello all!

Should be working, instead I'm here! I'll never learn! It's especially important for me to catch up at work, as I've tentatively scheduled the surgery on my "girlie bits" for the first of May and the Dr told me to take a week off work! I didn't expect a whole week! Turns out my ovarian cyst is getting bigger and they want to drain it and biopsy it...not that they think anything serious is going on, but just to be sure. I said if they are going to be in the general area, may as well take care of the rest! So they are going to do the procedure to stop my periods (yea!) and tie the tube at the same time! I'll be glad, really, as I'm now having my second period in three weeks and it's worse than the first! SO tired of this...as many of you ladies on this board can sympathize with! I just have to wait for the Dr to get permission for the tubal ligation, as it's a catholic hospital...but as it's extremely dangerous to get pregnant after the endometrial procedure, he thinks they'll grant a waiver.

I had WI today and was pleasantly surprized to be over a pound DOWN! 245 on the dot! Guess the eliptical is not a bad thing.

Speaking of which - I did 10 minutes last night!!! I seem to have figured out how to work with the machine instead of against it...it's all in the posture and how you move. Not like walking at all! Think I'll stick to 10 for a while - wiped me out!

Crock: The Mothman thing creeps me out! I'm somewhat afraid of the dark anyway - all my older brother's fault - my parent's should have beaten him! He once put on a monster mask and stood outside my bedroom window until I saw him looking in at me! I was about 6 or 7 at the time. I was out of law school before I could be in a house at night alone and have the window blinds up! Anyway, sometimes when I have the dogs out at night they bark at nothing and in the back of my mind is that I'll see that darn Mothman! (Embarassing - 42 years old and scared of the dark!)

Jilly: Hope your talk goes well! I know that sometimes you have to clear the air. I wish I was better at it myself. My DH and I have our "serious" relationship type talks in bed with the lights out...only way I can say what I need to. It can be so hard, but bottling things up is never the best thing to do.

Kayley: I hope you have a better day than your mood started you out with...

Zelma: We don't mind a bit if you miss some of us! There are quite a few after all! But I love your "novels" so post as many as you like! I forget, did you ever say what grade you teach? I had a conference with DS's teacher yesterday - don't know what has gotten into my kid-but his teacher says it's a girl! He's 10! Apparently raging hormones start early!

Melanie: WoooHooo! Coming back from Disney with a LOSS!

Ammi and Honi: If your scale is bad, you'll never get on track by looking at it! I weighed forever! at the Dr office and only at the Dr office! I figured their scale was the most accurate I was going to find. Keep up those positive attitudes!

jennilynn: Forgive me if I missed you before and didn't welcome you! I know it can be awfully discouraging to see that LONG way to go! You really, really need to concentrate on smaller goals. You may want to lose 150 lbs...but wouldn't you also like to lose 15 lbs? Set that slider to 15 and when you get there, set it for another 15. When you are 300+ the numbers are just too big, you can't focus on the overall goal! You've lost 12 lbs. You certainly know you can lose 15. If you lose 15 lbs one time, you can do it 10 times! And you know...once you've done it 10 times you are there!!! Have strength! You are on the right track!

Well all, I know I'm missing a bunch of folks, but I'm late as usual and, as I said I've GOT to work harder or else! So I'm off! Have a happy, healthy OP day!

I am taking the day off from work today. Last night I went out with friends and just felt the energy draining out of me. I think my sciatica is acting up a little bit and I am a little stuffy. So I went to sleep last night around 11 amd woke up this morning around 11. Except for the pain I am feeling better already. I am totally dreading my WI tonight...but I know I have to go in there and deal with whatever the scale says and know that I can't blame it on anything but my own choices. I think that now that I have gotten past the wedding dress thing it's time to start over...sort of like phase 2 of my process. I need to go back to the beginning and recharge.

I don't feel like eating anything today...which I know is not good. I had a banana and 2 slices of turkey and some hot tea...but I don't feel so hungry. I want soup...I'll see what I can do about that.

Crock - I think that sounds like a fantastic idea! What class is this for? I have to write a 10 page paper for my psychology class, and I am going to do a psychological profile...going to do it on John Wayne Gacy...you know, the "clown killer"...should be interesting...

Jill - What is it that you do that you hate so much?

I'm feeling quite sick, and I have a class this evening. I don't even know if I'm going to go. I'm sitting here in the computer lab on the other campus, and honestly, I just feel like going HOME. I know I need to go, especially since Susan isn't going to be going, but I just CANT. I don't want to, and UGH. Still not in a good mood, sorry...

heh, I'm a technical writer. I don't hate writing (or researching or editing or proofreading...), but I am so fed up with the drama in the office. I work with a group that only has one guy and a ton of hormonal women, and the drama is just a bit much for me. I need new co-workers more than anything, but I am really bored with the contract I'm working on, too. I write stuff for Medicare providers (physicians, hospitals, etc.), and it just bores me to death

Congrats on the tests, Crock. I'm not having any trouble with the tickers.

I decided to just do it, and I'm here at the main campus, but my class doesn't start for another hour, so I'm down here in the computer lab wasting time. I wanna go hoooome. *whines like a 4 year old*

So, no, I haven't talked to Jeff yet...my night got somewhat interrupted by A JOB OFFER!!! I got the call a little before 6pm, and I figured it was kinda after normal business hours, so I assumed it was just my sister calling my cell phone, but it was a woman calling to offer me the job I interviewed for last Monday...the one I actually really wanted! So, not only will I have a better job with a new group of people, but they are also starting me at $10,436 MORE than I make right now Sorry for the lack of replies, but I am just SO EXCITED!!!

Amber - dont feel bad about the daybed. The bed I was using was the one my dad bought when he got out of the airforce in the 50s.

just got back from the gym a bit ago, had a shower and logged in. The stupid scale said 279 today with my shoes on. I know my shoes dont weigh 3 pounds, 1.5 maybe. So scales are just whack. Too many fluctuations in our space suit for any reliability that is why we pick a day to weigh and make that number count or we would never get anywhere. Then we work program and hope next week's number is lower than the previous week. Which is hit or miss as we are finding out.

Kayle = Thanks :smile:
I usually get in the bed by midnight but i stay up reading and messing with the cats. I am a night owl and a late sleeper. bad habits, I know. But If I dont eat after dinner and I sleep away the day, that limits my eating time so I eat less. Of course, I guess I burn less calories too. I have been working out every day though...

OOH jill - good luck on finding a meaningful job for yourself. That would be so great for you. It is apparantly a hard job market right now because my son still doesnt have a job.

Good luck with Jeff, that stuff can be so stressfull!

zedaus - the bed is very comfy, thank you, just like baby bears bed except strong enough, I wont break it. I drink enough water for all of you, I think. Everyday I fill up 4 1liter bottles of water and carry them up to my room. Well I leave one downstairs sometimes. By the next day or before I have to fill them all up again. That doesnt count the liter I fill up and take to the gym. I am a waterbug unless of course I sleep all day then it is just 2 liters or so plus the one for exercise.

Crock - I know there was a movie or something but I am not familiar with Mothman. Sounds like something spooky which would probably make a great paper.

sharon - voodoo - Get some of that willpower dust and pour it over your head. You can beat these cravings!! Find something lo-cal that you can stand and eat that until the craving passes, like (ugh) celery or something. Or do like me and stand in front of the mirror for a while. At the gym tonight I had to take off my glasses because of the sweat making them slide off and I was there walking along on the treadmill when I noticed someone really big wearing blue and black across the room. Trying not to stare, I was watching her and thinking to myself, well, at least I'm not that big...well, of course, when I put my glasses back on I realized it was my own reflection in the mirrored wall...so I guess I am that big...ha ha ha sorta funny in a sick way, mostly sad, but mom got a good giggle out of it so it was worth it. I dont get to make her laugh too often.

Lilion - I hope you get your surgery since it is your body and your money and your choice! Really chaps my *** when we have to get permission for any type of procedure concerning our reproductive system. I was 19 when I had my tubes tied and it was the smartest thing I ever did but I had to literally fight with the doctor overit and he insisted on permission from my husband and a whole bunch of crap. It was my insurance, my money and my body but I had to go through **** to get the procedure I wanted done. Tried to tell me i was too young to know what I wanted. Ignorant man, I wasnt too young to have the baby I was having or to be married or to go to war (not actually involved with war but still I was old enough). RANT RANT RANT

Congratulations on the loss!

AND the 10 mins on the evil elliptical.

Christine -

Julee - I know we say it is bad to skip meals, but then they say only eat when you are hungry and then they say eat 3-5 times a day and then the next article says cut out between meal snacks so who's to say what is healthy???

somehow, I doubt that the cavemen at several times a day...I bet they were lucky to eat once a day sometimes. For what that odd comment is worth.

Kayle - do you like serial killer books? I just finished one on signature killers. It did not say much about Gacy but several others and especially Ted Bundy here and there turns out he was a a necrophile.

Crock - you are red hot!! an A+ and a B, that is great...look out math test!!

JILL - WAY TO GO, THAT IS WONDERFUL NEWS!!!! Now send some of that job hunting savvy to my son.

On Sunday we took the puppies to the a park about a mile from our house, you hike thru the woods about 3/4 of a mile and you come out at the Gulf of Mexico. The tide was in but they still had a blast!!

Click and watch my little video of them, at 17 seconds in, Sadie gets wiped by a little a wave and its tooo funny!!

Ammi – It is totally about the health, and if you are doing the right things the weight will come off. A bath sounds lovely. I still don’t think I will fit in my tub yet, but I suppose I could try. I also agree with Valerie about the accuracy of the scale. That just doesn’t sound right.

Tracey – That is totally the way to do it! I also tell myself that I can stop after 10 minutes if I want to, but now I almost never do. Once I start it really feels good.

Jennilynn – It sounds like you are the one watching and expecting yourself to mess up. Don’t give yourself that excuse. At the same time, if you are going through rough times then cut yourself some slack. Don’t try and do everything and be perfect – no one can do that. Find small things you can do that will feel like mini-successes and start to build your self confidence.

Kayley – Way to go on your exams. You must be relieved to be mostly done except for psych.

Melanie – At least you finally got your case back, but that sounds like a stressful way to end a vacation. That is so great that Disney was tons of fun and you also lost a half pound. How cool it that?

Garnet – I have read elsewhere on this board that you are almost always heavier after working out – something to do with how the muscles behave. So don’t weigh yourself after, always before!

Amber – HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! Hope you got something special.

Jill – Sorry to hear there is a major issue between you and Jeff. That sounds like it is going to be one tough conversation.
. . . but congratulations about the job. That is SO fantastic!

Zelma – Boy I wish there were more teachers out there like you. The fact that you spend your own time searching for activities, especially for your weak one is very touching. I am sure there are many dedicated teachers out there, it is just so inspiring to hear the way you talk about your class.

Crock – you want to talk procrastination? Early on in my college career I realized that on average I needed one hour to write one page of a paper. So, I would figure out when the paper needed to be in – ie 9 am, and I would count back in hours the number of pages. So if I had to write 7 pages, I would start at 2am the night before. Towards the end this changed when I had two huge term papers to write that included a ton of research, but that is how I got through most of college.

And I knew you would do well on those tests.

Sharon – Keep typing! Hopefully your cravings will pass.

Lillion – Sorry to hear your procedure will take so long. I was told on Monday that if I get either of two procedures I wouldn’t be able to drive for 2 weeks, so I can definitely sympathize. Also, your 10 minutes on the elliptical inspired me to keep going tonight and instead of 5 minutes I made it to 7!

Christine – Those kind of things always make me feel so silly when I realize them. At least you didn’t think it was broken and go buy a new one of something like that.

Julee – Good for you to take a day off to rest since you needed it. It is so important to take care of ourselves at the onset of anything, rather then get even more run down and really sick.

Countess
– Those puppies are TOO cute. Thanks for sharing that link. You must have your hands full – good exercise though.

For me, I have got to get more focused at work again. I find myself here a LOT and looking up articles, reading other things about diet and health and not concentrating on my job. I am getting by and getting the basics done, but that just isn’t like me. I am starting to be afraid of getting caught too, which is a horrible feeling. This is compounded because my coworker (our editor) has been working these crazy hours because she has gotten a lot of work dumped on her. It makes me feel guiltier for not even putting in a full day of effort. So as of tomorrow I am only allowed to come here at lunch time! Why does it seem that when one area of my life is going so well that another one has to suffer?
