Hey Gang -
Just popping in for a min before I exercise and settle in for the evening!
Barbg gets the credit for all the cute cartoons! I haven't had any time lately to find the cute things I use to track down.

So, Barb.g - fess up, where do you get all the cute cartoons?

Off to exercise before I get too comfy!

Well - its shaping up to be a good day - I went deep water walking this morning (I was determined not to stop because of yesterday) and then went to the dietician ... and I lost 2.6 lbs (1.2 kg), and lost 2 cm (bit less than one inch) from around my waist (only measurement I take each week). Every little bit helps!

Way to go Leanne on the loss, both on weight and inches. That is totally great!!

Just wanted to say goodnight girls. Tomorrow will be my official first day back OP all the way, including getting the exercise in.

Night.

I watched the Oprah with the 550 pound woman on it - wasn't it you, 2Cute who mentioned it back when it was ACTUALLY on - not via VCR?

I really loved her - she was/is so honest.

I have been doing good today - keeping away from binging. My one sister called and they are coming home for Thanksgiving!!!! UGH - I wasn't planning on cooking and having some quaility time with my cat. Okay, I wasn't planning on cooking. I just didn't want something else in my life to CHANGE right now.

I thought I was going to miss my Mike tonight but I see he is at the American Music Awards. Must have forgot to pick me up!!

Good luck weighing in tomorrow. I won't have good numbers but .. I will still be here.

Hey ladies Not much to say, I've been feeling so down and out lately.. hopefully getting back to work Tuesday will get me back inside of my mind.

I ate perfectly today and drank all my water, I havent worked out though. I'm probably just going to do some situps/leg lifts/ etc.. maybe my belly dance tape. Some days I just get in this mood of complete exhaust and bouncing around just isnt in my mood But belly dancing is so much smoother and I think it really tones things up. Plus it doesn't make as much noise when everyone's supposed to be sleeping.

Hope allof you hada great weekend

I did ok this weekend. I notice everyone says that they have the hardest time during the week, but it seems for me that the weekends are the hardest for me. That's my lay back and "chill" time and I don't think about things as much, so this weekend, I didn't get in as much water, though, the attempt was there. I probably had about 3/4 as much as normal. Food, I did fine on until dinner tonight, but it wasn't too horrible, seeing as I just ate light most of the day. Just some raisin bran for breakfast and lunch? Can't even remember. I was cleaning, and I think I just had some juice and a handful of raisins. Raisin day it seems! But I kinda blew it with a couple of beer brats on a bun with grilled onions and mustard. Not horrible with a side of beans and I grilled myself some yellow squash. Could've been much worse, right? I did my workout at Curves and tried a few rounds of an elliptical machine, but I apparently have no coordination for such things. Good thing I didn't invest in the Gazelle.

peekabooangel I love My Girl. That movie always makes me cry!! And speaking of housework, we started cleaning (DH and DD included--woohoo!) at 12 and didn't stop until 7. Does that count for a day of exercise? I sure hope so. Especially cleaning the tub! Blehhh.

Terri I'm having that same dilemma with the Thanskgiving day coming up. One with Curves being closed around the big day and two, those same old foods I've had for years but well worth the wait of an entire year to enjoy. I like your strategy ideas, though. I'm going to have to incorporate the tablespoons as opposed to the heaps as well, great idea! And definitely the tight jeans should do the trick. I WILL have to indulge in the pumpkin pie and sweet potatoes, though... I've already decided on those two being the ONLY two I do that with.

CD I know how you feel with the "blahhhhs" I call 'em. Hard to get energized to do something. Good for you for all your water and food! I didn't do so great with water today. I want to try one of those bellydance tapes. Sounds like fun!

HI guys Good to see our two Barbs are doing so well. Love ya

No preaching... no advice... no opinions tonight.
Just good ole replys and gossip.

Terri.... I was put into total shock when you mentioned our next 2lbs in 2 weeks weigh in is the Monday after Thanksgiving. I guess that will help us make wise choices. I liked your plan to wear a pair of tight jeans to keep you from overeating.

I am sooo happy you did not get hurt with your fall. Now I don't want you to go riding by yourself anymore. I am proud of you for getting back on. It is the best policy. Once my son went riding and his horse thought a garden hose was a snake and threw my son off. DH made him get right back on.... after they walked the horse past the hose. LOL

Michelle ... You are doing so well keeping those points down.
I can feel your determination all the way here.

Lucky... Yes... that dreaded word "Change" always pop up when speaking of recovering. I guess we might as well accept it... we have to CHANGE. I have to change everything about my old ways.

I was the one who mentioned to watch Oprah and that 550lb woman.
I teared up when she spoke about how hard it is to accept how many years she had wasted. That was right after I spent that afternoon crying at the pond about my wasted years. I am sooo happy for her.

The movie "My Girl" is an old movie that even made my husband cry.
I don't want to tell you many details because it would ruin the movie for you. Go rent it one night soon.

Speaking of movies. I saw a movie today on TV that totally surprised me how good it was. Lots of 'lifes lessons' in it. It was called "Paulie" I think.
It is a story told by a parrot about his life and search for his former owner.
I am going to watch it again and take notes. LOL Check that one out too.

Kat... The one SURE FIRE way to guarantee I won't get company is to have my house clean. If my house is a mess... someone will show up to surprise me. LOL

Leanne... I am soooo PROUD of you for going back and doing your water walking. Next year at this time it won't even be an issue anymore.
CONGRATS on you 2.6lb loss.!!!!!

Sandy... As I said earlier... "My Girl" is a tear jerker.
I am proud of you for getting back on program Monday morning.

Gail... A BIG CONGRATS to you too for getting that treadmill dusted.
You are going to be so glad you did.
I love your tinkertape goal of 10 lbs at a time. I may have to do that one myself.

Barbg.... I wish I could just HUG those two pounds off of you. :
It is not fair. You have been doing sooo great. BUT keep hanging in there.
I am going to try and find a post I read several months ago by a lady who lost over 100lbs but did it in spurts. She would go weeks without losing a pound .. then whoosh she would lose 4 lbs. Then go weeks again. She only lost weight about once a month or more. It was HARD to stay motivated and she talked about that. But once she accepted that was the hand she was dealt... and dealt with it.... she eventually lost over 100 pounds.
If you hang in there... that will be you too.

You definitely have a week of temptations ahead of you.
Trust me.. it is easier to not eat it at all than try to "control" eat in those situations for me. I have to eat my planned meals and leave those exceptions alone.

And BUNCO... I would love to get a game of that going one night at the Spring Fling 2. My grandmother used to play that with me when I was young. I don't remember how now ... but would love to play it again with you.
PS... I LOVE that hiding turkey. He always makes me smile.
Loved those bunny slippers too. All of your pics are sooo cute.

ljs/Lisa ... Oh boy.. a spring production of "OKLAHOMA" !!! I want to come and see it. (Where's the cowboy smilie when you need him? ) LOL
Come on down and I will take you to the ongoing production we have going here. Yes... I am an OKIE.

Chris... what fun.. DATE NIGHT !!! My neighbor and I exchanged babysitting once a month so we could have a DATE NIGHT when our kids were young.
Now our date nights are babysitting the grandkids. LOL Fun.. but not the same. LOL

BarbPA ... Your phones sound like fun. My daughter and I talk every day almost. Those picture phones are really popular nowadays.
When you go swimming do you ever get into the hot tub? They are notorious for giving people skin rashes. It is the chemicals used in them ... plus they dry out the skin even more than swimming. A lot of people can't use them.
I too do not expect myself to workout 7 days. My plan is to never miss more than one day in a row. That makes a minimum of 4 days a week. But even so.. I still have a hard time.

CD ... sorry to hear you are not feeling UP lately. Sometimes I too find my routine better weekdays than those days of change. That is what happened to me this weekend. CHANGE... and not for the better. I got off my routine and even though I too ate OP ... I didn't do the other NECCESSARY things needed to lose this weight.

Kerri... I just have to repeat what I wrote to CD.
This weekend wasn't my best. Let myself down. But picking myself back up and getting BACK TO BUSINESS !!!!

Thin ... you back from the movie counts yet ?? I am missing your post.
Several others are missing too. Mary, Syn, Susie, Jen, Andria, Steph, Pat, Joyce, Judy, who else I am missing... I know some newcomers too.
I think I have hit everyone on this thread. I got way behind and hopefully got caught up now.

I am not looking forward to tomorrows weigh in.
I know I have lost my 2 lbs but... I had lost MORE and I am afraid that I may have gained some back. NOT because I ate off program. But rather because I have not exercised the last couple of days .. nor drank my water... plus ate high sodium Mexican which makes me retain water. I know it will come off when I get back to my TURKEY COMMITMENT ... but I was looking forward to the total loss I worked hard for. Oh well... I am not going anywhere.. so I will lose it AGAIN.

WOOHOO!! Look at me!! I'm posting again and it hasn't been months since the last one!!

This will be a quickie though. I'm just sitting here with my coffee deperately trying to wake up. I hit the 'ol snooze bar too many times and now I have to shower, get both the kids up, fed and ready for school, and pack their lunches in less than an hour. It's not looking real good for me is it??

Yesterday was a horrible food day and I drank almost no water . I think food will be better today cuz it's a BUSY day and I won't have time to eat. I don't know about the water. I hate having to stop at every restroom!!! I don't have that kind of time today.

Hopefully I'll be able to get back later today and post more. Gosh, I might even get to some replies, who knows?

Anyhoo, talk at ya later!

Hi gang--

I've been offline several days now. Staying pretty well OP, though. It's just been crazy, crazy, crazy workwise. As you can maybe see by the fact that it's after 1 a.m. and I'm still at my desk. Where I have to be again at 8 a.m. So, this will be QUICK!

Oh, I have to tell you all, I went on a short drive just to clear my head earlier today, and I was driving through farm country, and what did I see but--a WILD TURKEY. You can bet I went home and had a completely OP dinner.

Couldn't completely catch up with posts, but here are a few replies. I'll keep vowing to be better and maybe someday I will

Chris--GOOD JOB getting back OP!!

Gail--Welcome! Nice feather-duster, girl--now keep that dust away the natural way!

BarbPA--Good luck through all those temptations. Just imagine a nasty turkey nipping at your heels, then think of us.

Leanne--I'm so proud of you, both for getting back in the pool and for your loss. Great job, Goddess!

cd--Sorry you're feeling down, but it's so good that you're continuing to eat well and work out even though you're not up. I really admire that about you. When I get down is when I'm most likely to lose a day.

Well, I'll officially weigh-in in the "morning" (as if it's not morning already). So see you all shortly! Good luck on the challenge.

I am off to do my morning walk since the boy is on the bus on his way to school! I needed to put it down here because I was starting to procrastinate...now I HAVE to do it!

I'll be back!

Default Promised Poem

Morning Ladies,

Just a quick note before I am off to work. I promised yesterday that I would post a poem, so here it is.

THE RED ROSE

The red rose
I picked in the dew spangled garden
has an unearthly beauty.
Pure Spirit.
Pure Light.
Untouched and filled with the glory of being,
with unspeakable peace and inner shining.
Is that what I am in reality?
Here I sit and weep.
Moved beyond my humanness,
I glimpse
the mystery of the Absolute.

~(Anon)~

We are all glorious beings, and shine with the inner light. We must reflect that light outwards, no matter what the shell we are in looks like. We must love ourselves, and not let the ignorance of others dim our light.

Peace all

Skit

Checking in on the 2 Week Challenge: I did NOT make my 2 pounds, but I did make 1, so I'll take all I can get. I'm sitting here in my chair and on my kitchen tabel, not 2 feet way is, Greman Chocolate cake, Carrot Cake, Red Velvet cake, and a wonderful looking chocolate cake!!! I really can't gain just by looking at it can I???

New day, new week, new determination!!!

For those of you who asked where I get my pics, the answer is everywhere. I spend hours looking at different site looking for pics that I like and want to use. It's addicting.

Morning, chickies--Checking in for the challenge.... post me for... drum roll.... 7 pounds off for this challenge. Some of that is water, I know, BUT... I'm really liking this daily weighing business, because I've been at either 299 or 299.5 for 4 days in a row, so I trust that's where I really am and that I'm below 300 for good. If I fluctuate back up when I'm OP, I'll assume THAT's water. And I plan to be OP for a good long while, because I want to leave the 3 behind.

I shall not eat turkey on Thanksgiving, for the commando turkey is my friend. Let all turkeys be spared, say I.

Oh, and sign me up for the next challenge.

Skittles--Thanks for the lovely poem to start the day.

Michelle--Hope you had a great walk.

Barb--Don't you touch those cakes! We're watching! And good job on the challenge. 1 pound is better than 0!

Good morning!

I'm claiming a 2.5 lb loss on this challenge. Woohoo! Finally staying OP for more than 4 days a week does make a difference.

I'm a little sore this morning. I bruised the bone in my forearm but other than that, I think I've worked out other soreness with pilates. Oh, I must have twisted my left foot (the one I broke earlier this year) because its a little tender today. Maybe enough to use as an excuse to wear walking shoes to work.

Speaking of, I'm running late so I'm outta here!

Good luck to all weighing-in this morning!
