Just peeking in for a second... I have my granddaughter with me. She spent the night and we have been making puzzles all morning... and playing Hi Ho CherryO. We are going to try and swim ... hopefully the water won't be too cold.

Weigh In Wednesday.... I have lost 3lbs and plan on losing losing 2 more by the end of the month. Yesterday was a great day... and today will be too.
Just wanted to peek in before I headed to the pool.

!!!!

I went to step on the scale yesterday for a preliminary peek at the numbers...confident in a loss...when what to my wondering eyes should appear...but the words, Lo Bat.

I CAN'T WEIGH IN TIL I GO BUY NEW BATTERIES FOR THE SCALE!!
Of course it doesn't take good ol' AA Duracells....of which I have the MEGA sleeve from Costco. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO...

I have to go buy a fancy pants disc-y type battery for the damn thing!

So, I must venture out into the world...to seek the golden key which will unlock the mysteries of this week's weigh in.

Stay tuned for the exciting ( ) conclusion to this tale!

Hey everyone

I'm in almost the same boat as our Kat. I was headed to weigh in after physical therapy and some Costco shopping, but realized I had forgotten they close at noon on Wednesdays! I'm going to have to wait until Friday. But, things are looking good. I'm really confident and expecting to see a loss.

2cute, way to come back with some flash!!! Sounds like that trip was a good motivator for you.

Angela, the exercise thing is so personal for me. If I do it, I feel really great and energized. It gets to the point where I'd rather get in a 30 minute workout than another hour of sleep. The main reason I do it is to keep my head together, though. Exercise does for me what most people describe Prozac does for them.

I haven't slept yet, and they asked me to work again tonight. I'd better get some rest! Did have to tell you all that I picked out my Christmas cards today. This is amazing, considering I'm the worst Christmas procrastinator ever! Kind of funny though, because I actually planned to make the cards this year.

Gotta run before I fall asleep at this keyboard....

Andria

Hey all, I've never posted here but occassionally I read through. My costco actually has a scale and one day I jumped on it (because I'm a scale addict) and it had a lower weight than the scale at the gym I use. Even though I still go by the gym's scale, it gave me a bit of a boost to use that one.

Welcome Nelie, just hop right in and post!!!

I am sure our will be happy to have another Chick to at, or with. I like to look at it as with because (with luck) I will be meeting her at the MOA and I don't want her at me!

Geez Lucky, you're making me feel bad now!

I tried to post earlier but the connection has been acting up.

I didn't have much to say. Feeling fat and frustrated, blah, sneezy, blah, blah, blah. Blame it on hormones and allergies. Blah.

I have decided that I want a kayak for next summer. Why? Because I've never been in one. It looks like fun and great exercise.

Lucky on your stats.

Time for CSI - NY.

Good night!

Hi all! I should have been in bed looooooong ago. But I figured I had better stop by and say "hi".

Today was WONDERFUL! I had lunch with a certain someone's daughter, won't mention any names. We did Mexican, and here's the good part: I "pointed" out everything I intended to have before I left the house and I stuck to the plan. I was a bit over in points today because I came home and the "baby" was dying for Chineese. But I only ate half of that meal so I'm not waaaaay over, just a little bit. BUT, I did get in all my water and all my fruit/veggie servings so I'm doing fine. Baby steps, one day at a time.

Katrina: That's terrible about the scale batteries. Hope their not so expensive that you could buy a new scale for the price of the batteries. Sometimes that's how I feel about stupid electronic gizmos that use those disk type batteries.

Andria: Sounds like you're getting alot of those nightly hours lately. Hope the knee is healing and you'll find that the therapy is the worst of what you have to go through.

Nelie: Welcome to our humble little corner of the world. I hope you'll take time to look around more thoroughly and decide you'd like to stay awhile. We love newcomers.

Lucky: You're doing so good. Keep up the good work.

2cute: Thanks for letting me adopt your daughter. She's delightful! And congrats on sticking with a plan. You're doing great.

Angela: Can't help you with the "how do I fit it in" question, because I usually don't. Exercise is my biggest problem too. But I'm confident that one day, it will all come together.

Terri: "Feeling fat and frustrated, blah, sneezy, blah, blah, blah. Blame it on hormones and allergies. Blah." What's this???? Did you catch my funk???? NOT POSSIBLE!!! Get off your duff, quit the stinkin' thinkin' and get with the program!!!! There are NO EXCUSES here!

Well, girls, I'm off to dream land. See you all later. Love ya bunches.

Default Is it Friday yet?

Hello Girls,

Well this week is turning out to be a little more hectic then I thought. I am so exhausted. What a week to decide to quit caffeine. I have been off of the evil drug for almost a week now I think. I don't really have the headaches anymore. At least not caffeine withdrawl headaches. I never got to the gym on Tuesday, had a birthday party Tuesday night. I am just so tired from work I am just not motivated to do anything but collapse when I get home. I am doing three peoples jobs right now and it is getting a little frustrating. I cannot wait until Friday at 5. At least I have accomplished the not having caffeine, that is a big one for me. I know that once I am over this slump and my body adjusts I will feel better. I have not lost any weight, but I haven't gained any either. I haven't been completely OP, but I am doing better. Not getting in as much water as I should. I am just not thinking about it at work. I know I need to be but my mind is elsewhere.
Anyhow, I have the same problem with finding the time to exercise. I mean sometimes I am up at 5 with my husband when he has to be at work early, but I just don't get out of the bed for an hour. That is an hour that I could be spending at the gym or here exercising. I just have to find a way to work it in my schedule. I think one of my goals this weekend will be to plan out my entire week with food and exercise.

Thin, Sounds like you are doing good.

Andria, sounds like you are doing good too, way to go.

sorry I don't have time for more personals, but I have to get ready for work.

Hugs to ya all.

Thankful Thursday

I am thankful for the following:
sleep
my husband
this site
the ability to exercise and eat properly even though I don't
having a job
Daniel, my spirit guide
Mother and Father God
Christ
My foster family
birds in the morning
Autumn Harvest

Default Daily Om

Back again. I get these messages from DailyOm.com and this is one that I got today that I felt I really needed today. I don't know if any of you get this or not so I am sharing it here.

"September 23, 2004
8 Ways To Maintain A Positive Attitude
There Is No Obstacle Too Great
1. Become mindful of your thoughts and let them occur without judgment. As you recognize self-limiting beliefs and feelings, eliminate them by focusing on positive thoughts about the present and future.

2. The author Charles Dickens advised, "Reflect upon your present blessings, of which every man has many - not on your past misfortunes, of which all men have some." Don't brood over mistakes, carry grudges, or harbor hate.

3. Worrying is a wasted effort and the breeding ground of doubt. It will lead you to contemplate potential losses rather than effective solutions. The antidote to worry is positive action.

4. Adversity comes to each of us in time. Expecting rather than dreading this adversity can make challenging periods seem less daunting and will allow you to accept that you possess the strength to conquer each obstacle as you have conquered obstacles in your past.

5. Assume that hidden in every setback there is a lesson. Consciously choose to think of the challenges you face in a positive way: as a learning experience, an opportunity to demonstrate your strengths, or the first step on a new path.

6. Think about what you desire, not what you fear. Visualize future successes with the belief that you will achieve them, and then take action. When you are working diligently toward a goal, there will not be time to ponder the obstacles.

7. When negative thoughts and feelings threaten to overwhelm you, take a "time out" and do something that makes you happy. Letting yourself be swept away in a favorite activity or meditation will inspire well-being.

8. Be confident that no matter what adversity you face, you will be strong enough to remain positive and optimistic. Knowing that there is no obstacle you cannot overcome will give you that strength."

Skit: You are quitting coffee and I started! I quit drinking caffinated coffee years ago but decided since it's part of all diet pills maybe I could use a little. I only drink 2 sometimes 3 cups a day so ...

Ummm.... did you see who the Bears play on Sunday?

I survived the dentist - he didn't hurt me so I am happy.

In just two weeks I get to go back! My life is so FULL !!!!!

Off to work - here's to you Skit

Good morning!

Just a temporary funk. Where it doesn't matter how much water you've drunk, how much exercise you've done, or how little you've eaten....your body feels twice as big.

In spite of a sore throat that I awoke with, I did my weight training and ab work on the big a$$ green ball. Umm..Lucky...that's how you get ab muscles to do pilates!

Thanks Thin!

The sore throat is due to allergies. Fall my favorite time of year...but so hard on my body because of the allergies.

We made reservations last night for MN.

I better get off the bed and get myself to work. Have a great day!

Skit, I signed up for the Daily OM. Every little thing I can find to help me is a big plus. Thanks for sharing.

I slipped a couple times but remembered our "no excuses" attitude and got right back OP.

We'll be doing the dog show thing with the pointer the next 3 days. Lots of time in the car so I double checked to be sure I has no hidden snacks ...
it's clean!

Y'all be good now here!
