I am truly sorry for not writing here every day. Until my schedule/life changes dramatically, it will probably have to continue like this. I'm working on dramatic life changes at the moment, though. Last week I had my transcripts from the last place I attended university sent to the nearby (45 min. away) university which is where I began school. I have a meeting with an advisor on the 23rd to discuss what possibilities I have for finishing a degree in the near future. Since my day job is headed south and I haven't seen anything promising to fill it's place, this seems like the perfect time to do something for me. Yes, DH is in school right now, and that might make things a bit interesting, but... I had to wait twelve years of marriage for him to get his butt back to school. His education seems to be dragging out, and I need this for me! I just don't want to wait any longer. I'll keep you all in touch.
Terri, I'm embarrassed to say this, but I am so jealous of your bike riding and marathon preparations. I'm working hard, though, and I will be where you are! You really impress me.
Oh yeah, nobody laugh at this, but I realized something about myself the other day. I've begun to take a much more active role in my appearance. I'm always clean and neat, but I noticed that for weeks now I've been keeping my nails painted, and I even bought a new lipstick and mascara and have been using them regularly! I'm really beginning to feel good about myself, and it shows.
Got to go again. I've been trying to sleep but gave up after the 6th interruption in two hours. I'm about to conk out on the keyboard!
I need to get back to Dr. Phil and posting here. I missed it but Nyquil zapped me into sleep mode, which I probably needed to get rid of this cold.
Now, if the weather just co-operates. It has stormed here nearly everyday. I hate the sound of wind - it gets scary when the ground vibrates.
I was torn because my sisters and their families will be here in two weeks - so why diet and exercise! BECAUSE it's the right thing to do - right? I am such an "all or nothing" person. If I can't totally control my food and exercise hours a day - why even try!!!! Well, I will keep working on changing that thinking because it sure hasn't worked in the past.
Hello all! I've kinda been missing in action, I know. I thought that once summer got here I'd have more time for doing things for myself. Yeah, right! Things seem to be busier than ever. I've added five kids to my daycare for the summer (not including my two oldest staying home!) and it's been busy!
Went camping (again) this past weekend - this time with my oldest daughter and had a fabulous time! The weather on Saturday was GORGEOUS!
Food hasn't been very good, but at least I haven't gained any. Total lost now is 22 lbs. Exercise - well, I get as much as I can, when I can, but it's been hard. It always seems so hard to find time for myself. I know that I need to do that, but I always put my needs on the back burner. Can anyone out there relate!?
Well, I better go. Just wanted to pop in and say "hi" and that I haven't forgotten about y'all. Hope everyone is doing well. My projects now in my "spare" time are to catch up on all the reading I missed the past two weeks! I have kept up with my Dr. Phil reading, just haven't posted or read anything on the thread.
Wow, its been slow. Good to come back and see posts!
We've had a busy day. After DH finished mowing the yard, we did head over to the boat for a couple of hours. That was fun except that it was so hot because of the humidity. Now that the water is warm enough, I don't have to worry about where and when to pee. Just hang off the ladder.
Then we needed to check on Ginger. I took her to the arena area and tried to work her on the longe rope. Except right now, its her TOM and she's more interested in the boys. I tried to tell her that he's a gelding and can't do nothing for her but he hasn't figured that out yet either. Even though she kept trying to go back to the barn, we stayed and I tried to get coordinated about it. I think I moved in a circle more than she. It was a start. I had sweat running from the top of my head to my toes because of the humidity. It felt like it was a 100 degrees.
Just to finish off the day not sitting down and relaxing, I repotted two peace lilies (I hope they live), filled the two strawberry jars with hens & chicks, planted the salvia, and tore a rose bush out to plant the false heather. The rose bush did not want to go without a fight. I pulled. I dug. I pulled some more. DH tried to hose me off when I was done because I had dirt all over my arms and legs. Very attractive!
DH is making shrimp and baked potatoes for dinner. YUMM!
Andria - As always, its great to hear from you. You have such a busy life, I don't know how you do it. Especially working a night job AND a day job?? Have you had time for any catering?
Lucky - I'm glad to see that you're finally on the recovering end. Those colds can be nasty. Having family around will be hard on your diet and exercise plans. Remember - its your choice. You can choose to eat heathy. Or you can choose to let food rule.
Lisa - I used to camp a lot myself. But I got tired of waking up in a wet sleeping bag all the time because it would rain every time we camped. Now I prefer camping in a motorhome - which we don't have anymore so no camping! It is hard to put ourselves first. But we have to choose to make the effort. That's why I ride so early in the morning - first thing of the day. Have fun with all the kids!!
Connie - It was good to hear from you too on the other thread. How did WW WI go?
BarbPA - Great job on making plans for the treadmill and a healthy meal!
Okay chickies - to the rest of you who are busy elsewhere or are lurking - hello and have a great evening!
Hello everyone. I know you must be tired of hearing me say I can't post much... but that is my life lately. My sister is getting out of the hospital tomorrow (Tuesday) and I have been assigned caregiver for her this week. Her own daughter is too worthless to do it herself. The last 3-4 weeks I have been practically living in Missouri so my sister would not be totally alone... her own daughter only gave up 5-10 minutes a day for her mom. I am getting pretty drained. My own family is sacrificing... not just me.
If I sound "resentful"... I am. I am fed up with my sister's daughter selfishness and worthlessness.
Anyway... I will be out of town all week AGAIN.
I hope you all have a wonderful week.
I was up early this morning to do a training ride with the neighbor. She wanted to head out to the country roads so we did. We only rode six miles but there were several hills and work traffic to deal with. It was a good ride and we got back about 10 minutes before it poured. I'm glad I got all my stuff planted yesterday as it looks to be a wet day.
Maybe DH and I can get to a movie this afternoon. I think the dog would be happy if we would stay home for a change instead of leaving him behind all the time!
2Cute - You have every right to be resentful. You've done so much for your sister and its taken its toll on you. The daughter needs someone to tell her about her behavior and how lucky she is her mother is still alive. Hang in there and just keep thinking about the good you're doing for your sis. Try to rest when you can. Take care and know that we miss you!
I just may have a nap this morning since its my last day to be lazy.
Make today a great day and lets see some more posting going on here!
I went to a new water class today. It was a strength class and we used the rubber ropes or bands and did exercises like we were using weight machines. Boy, I can tell I'm gonna be sore!!! I guess that means I need to do it more often Huh?
Hey there...I'm just in from work, so I'm only here for a moment. We were without our computer for a day or two...dh thought it was a virus again, I don't know what he did but it seems okay now. I was thinking I'd have to get over to the library soon to get my 3fc fix in. But now, all is well.
Nothing new to report here. My main exercise lately has consisted of hauling bags of mulch around the yard, creating my new compost area, weeding, (as always) planting the last of the flowers that I bought...ooh, maybe a month ago, mulching my beds, mowing, weed whacking...all the while trying to avoid the overly chatty neighbor. I think I burn the most calories on that last one...taking the long way around the yard, ducking into the garage or shed quickly. The weekend was perfect for all this activity, but these last two days have been disgustingly hot and HUMID.
I'll be back later...must rest..........................zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz zzzzzzzzzz

Wow, two whole posts in a day. Its hard to support or receive support when its so slow. We used to fill a thread in a day.
No bike riding this morning. I decided to give my knees a rest. Instead, I did 30 minutes of pilates, stability ball and weights.
Today is back to work day. I'm looking forward to getting back to regular eating patterns. No more skipping breakfast and having a big lunch.
Make today a great day. If you're too busy to post, make sure its with exercise and doing something healthy. If you're struggling right now, get over it! Get your focus and back on the road to good health.
Hi Everyone! Just thought I would drop in for a minute and tell you all that I haven't died and fallen off the face of the earth!!!
It's been "same old, same old" here. Nothing too exciting on any front. Worked as a "showgirl" this weekend. We were able to see The Terminal with Tom Hanks. Very cute. And we also saw Stepford Wives. It was really funny. Both are good choices for your viewing pleasure.
I've been working my butt off again. Gee, I wish it was that easy. I also have a job offer and will talk to the guy on Monday about it. It would be visiting 32 fast food restaurants each month and taking the temperature of the food, measuring the carbonation in beverages, taking pictures, etc. They provide all of the equipment including a hand held computer, digital camera, thermometer and other stuff. The best part is, you do all of your check off list in the car in the parking lot and when you get home, all you have to do is plug the computer into your phone line and it downloads itself. There's NO paperwork!!!
I'm looking forward to finding out more about this job because I'm sick of staying up until 2:00 and 3:00 in the morning doing paperwork every night. This might allow me to go to bed at a decent hour. PLUS, it's a monthly job that has to be done, but still flexible enough that I schedule the visits when I want to do them. We'll see, but it sounds promising.
I finally heard from all of my eBay buyers for this set. Still waiting on a couple of payments and then I'll be all fresh and new again. Gee, eBaying is time consuming. OR maybe I make it that way because I'm e-mailing my customers of when I get their payment, when I intend to mail their package and then when the package actually gets sent. I also wrap stuff pretty in tissue and use a fancy sticker to seal the tissue so it looks nice when they open the box up. Oh well, I'm into customer service, what can I say.
Well, girls, I'm outta here once again. I've got two bank jobs and several department stores, which isn't bad but they're at 3 different malls!
Sorry I can't stay to do replies. I did want to WELCOMEShelley Bear and Magnolia to our little corner. I hope you will come back and visit again real soon. Summer tends to be a little slow around here, so just bear with us as we are all out and about now that the weather is nice and the days are longer.
Hello again! Just thought I would let you know. If any of you are experiencing a v e r y S L O W time here on the thread it's not YOU, it's the server here. Suzanne says she needs a "kernel" upgrade. Like I know what THAT is!!! Anyway, it could be today or tomorrow before it gets better and she's not sure if the site will have to go down to do the upgrade or not. So if you peek in today or tomorrow and the site doesn't exist, or all of a sudden we're ZOOMING again, you'll know what happened.
