Ladies I'd like to join your group. Like some of you I lost and gained back. I had a Lap Band in 2007, lost 100 lbs., kept it off for a while and have seen it gained back in the last few years. So last week I was 308lbs and started all over again. Today I'm 299.6. YEAH!!
I live in Florida with my husband. have 4 grown kids and 2 grands. My goal is to be well under 200lbs by the time I am 60 which is at the end of next year. I don't feel almost 60, I feel 40ish.
It would be a great privilege to join you and look forward to getting to knw each of you.

Welcome, Annie... so glad to have a new face in the group!!! I think you will find we have a good and supportive group here... if you have any questions just ask... oh and continue to share your victories whether on the scale or off....

Congrats on your great first week... I think you have a good goal... to be below 200 by the end of next year.... My goal is to lose about 10 pounds a month until I lose it all.... that might be a tall order but I hope not too tall... LOL

Welcome Annie! That is a great first week. What is your plan of action?

Pam, glad you are hanging in there while you are adjusting and finding your way.

Starting to feel like I am getting my mojo back after coming back from vacation. Hope it is real and lasts.

How is everyone else doing?

Smile action plan

My plan is to attack some habits that may seem small to others but have definitely made a huge impact on my weight gain.
#1 No more driving thru Starbucks and DD
#2 No eating in the car (I bought a small cooler for the car and stocked water and zero vitamin water)
#3 Joined this support group
#4 bought scales that have an app to track weight and also I can manually add blood pressure readings
#5 Swimming circles in my pool (been raining most every day)
#6 keeping track of EVERYTHING I eat on Fitday
#7 getting husband on board to support me (he needs to lose 35 lbs.)

Please share with me any hints that have helped anyone in the group.

Ann

thanks for the welcome. When I was looking at this website the last time I just kind of Lurked. This time I really want to get to know other people facing the same challenge.

Ann, that looks like a strong plan.
I feel that the support here is a huge factor in my success so far. No where else can I learn from a group who share many of the same struggles. Their insight and support are invaluable.
Glad to see you back so soon!

Annie - that is a great plan... I am fortunate that there are not drive-throughs around close like for Starbucks or DD. The closest drive-through is at least 10 miles so it's not around the block easy. I need to make a plan of action like you. Thanks for being a leader. I have always heard that it is better if you can write it down. It seems to make you commit more to the plan.

today has been so-so... I am looking forward to tomorrow... going to the Dr. for blood work and I am anxious to see how that is...

Hope everyone has had a great day!

I decided to follow Annie's lead and write down my Plan of Action. Now I am going to post it here.

1. Walk 6 days/ week. (I am not putting a distance here because I am building stamina right now)
2. Drink 100+ oz. of water per day.
3. Stay busy, no sitting for extended periods.
4. Track weight daily.
5. Track ALL food in LoseIt.
6. Post to support group 4-5X per week.
7. Take vitamins daily.
8. Sleep 8 hours per night. (this is one of the hardest things for me)

Ann, I have been to DD one time. I know it would be a total downfall for me if I ever walked through those doors again. That is such a good plan. Eating in the car is another, I try to tell myself that I never see a thin person doing that.

Pam, I like your list also. What are your plans for staying busy?
As for your sleep, is it hard for you to fall asleep or stay asleep? Are you just not getting to bed early enough?

I am so happy to see the 300+ chat come back to life and be more active.
Today I saw 247.8 on the scale. I have not been under 248 since 2003. I stood there for quite a while and let it sink in. We are going to do this ladies! We just have to be patient and not give up.

Good morning from Florida everyone.
Working my plan and lost pound and a half.
Looks like you had similar Ubee, huge congratulations.
Pam I LOVE your plan. I'll be adding some of your to mine if you don't mind. The sitting for extended periods is one of my downfalls. TV marathons
Have an awesome day everyone.

Way to go Ann! It is great to see the scale move down. On the flip side it sure is tough those times you are doing everything right and it doesn't budge.
