Hi everyone.
Betsy I an not exactly having me time but we have carved out some we time. Hubby and I have been walking. Sometimes our daughter comes along if it is after school. It all depends on hubby's schedule. It is nice. 260 days left. How is food going for you?
Fi it must have felt like heaven to take a shower!
Cindy I hope your knee heals quickly.
Today was a better day. Every day I get more marked off my list. I just pray no more gets added. Our life is having some growing pains. Nothing bad just changes that require work... I am feeling more optimistic so that makes life much more enjoyable.
Have a peaceful day.

Evening Everyone!

Ubee I'm glad to hear you say that you are becoming more optimistic...That's a great step in the right direction. It seems as though you are going through some trying times right now but you'll get through it. Hearing you and DH going on walks sounds nice too. The weather has been crap every day this week so I haven't been able to do any walking outside which means there's no way to get DH involved in any exercise of any type indoors. I honestly think that if he ate just a little bit better and went on walks he could lose all the weight he needs to...not like me but meh..I'm getting there and that's what matters.

Cindy Hope you've been able to rest your knee more today...It sounds so painful....Get better soon dear!

Betsy I'm pretty sure the indecisive customer got the hint today. He sent me a message today and asked when his policy was renewing. I told him it renewed on 4/2 and it is already past due. His wife and he are divorcing so I've been having to split up the household and provide quotes for him and the ex wife which has driven me mad. He isn't asking anymore questions and you are right. I am at the end of my rope. I'm really hoping he just fades off into the sunset with a new agent and never hear from him again, but if he calls me again to ask a question I'm just going to tell him straight up that this is it, just needs to decide what he's going to do because there's nothing else I can do for him, and if he waits any longer he's going to be without insurance since he hasn't paid for anything yet.

This morning I felt like I wasn't going to get anything done, one thing after another....but things in the afternoon lightened up and I did manage to get something done. Honestly if I could just get an hour a day with no interruptions I could bang out so much work and wouldn't have to feel obligated to stay late or come in on a weekend to get caught up, none of that time I am getting paid either, but it's for my own benefit basically, and if I need to have a day off my boss doesn't make a big deal about it. I was talking with the other girl that works with me (we are the only two employees in our office, and the owner works with us too) and between the owner constantly interrupting her and me constantly having to take stupid phone calls we can't get anything done. I'm hoping something changes soon because if I have to keep doing everything I'm doing now I'm bound to make a mistake somewhere that could be costly, but I doubt it's going to happen LOL...

Got off work and since today was a scheduled rest day I went straight to the grocery and stocked up on food. Kroger is my go to grocery store these days because they have that Simple Truth line so it's hormone free items and the prices are great, and I don't have to deal with the craziness of going into Wal-Mart. It's a little bit more of a drive to get there but worth it to me. I live by the busiest Wal-Mart in America (I only know this because I have a friend that works there and she was told that by her higher ups) so if I don't have to go there, I avoid it like the plague.

Going to cut this short...I'm feeling great, and it feels so good to post here often. I feel like an idiot for truly letting time get away from me or some days "forgetting" to post...That's just being lazy for me in all honesty. But anyhow...Have a great night ladies!

Work today was AWFUL. Luckily, I didn't eat my feelings and I came home and took the dogs for a quick walk before it got dark. Still feeling stressed, but it's getting better. Time for dinner and Cardinals baseball!

Good morning everyone. Looks like it was a very quiet day here yesterday.

Fiona, glad the MRIs went well. I hope the appt. with the neurologist did as well, and maybe yielded some answers.

Betsy, I believe I am more moon-driven. I don't think that is an actual term, but I am the opposite of sun-driven. I love the quiet, stillness of the night, and would happily stay up all night if I didn't have a 6 A.M. alarm to face each morning.

Ubee, so glad you are feeling more optimistic and also glad you are able to have some "we" time with your hubby. Your life has been sounding quite hectic lately. I hope it calms down a little for you.

Sam, like you I try to avoid Wal-Mart whenever possible. I love their prices, but I really dislike crowds and shopping. Fortunately, I have several other supermarkets to choose from, all within the same general area, and they usually have some pretty good sales.

Mae, I hope you have a better day today. Kudos to you for not eating your feelings.

Today, I decided to be a bad employee and stay home from work. I am off tomorrow anyway, and thought I would give my knee an extra day of rest. Honestly, it feels so much better when I'm not using it.

DH is going out of town tomorrow for a couple days so I'm sending him to the store today to get a few things so I'm not stranded here without food. Ok, honestly, that wouldn't happen - there is always enough food here to feed a small army, but I am running low on fresh veggies for a salad, and that is a staple for me. We do have a 2nd vehicle but it isn't the most reliable and I wouldn't want to drive it when he will be too far away to rescue me should something go wrong.

He still hasn't eaten his chocolate bunny from Easter and I told him last night he either has to eat it before he goes, take it with him, or hide it really well, because if it's in plain sight while he's gone I cannot guarantee it will still be here when he comes back.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Good morning everyone. It's a gorgeous day here and I just feel so enthused and energized. Of course that could be because I slept for 9 hours last night.

Fi Looks like we cross posted yesterday, but so glad you were able to get up the stairs, get the MRIs done, and have what had to be a wonderful shower without incident. Hurray! Hope the appt goes well today and gets you pointed in a direction to get this remedied. We're all rooting for you.
Ubee We time is probably even better than me time -- especially if you enjoy being with DH. Since your posts when DH is mentioned are always positive, making sure you guys take a walk together is wonderful. Hope things calm down for you soon, but you do sound so much more positive today. How's the food going? OK. Not great (which would mean that the weight was flying off so fast that I changed a size in a week), but not bad either. Just need to get that consistency that I seem to be lacking.
Sam While your boss really does sound like she's a good boss, please don't work weekends or stay late to get things done. The only thing that does is assure that no one will get hired to do the clerical/administrative work associated with running an insurance office. Have you talked to her about the need for another person? Maybe someone part time? Maybe someone from a high school or community college who is looking to do an internship? I love Kroger's, too, but they don't have any out here -- although Kroger owns Fred Meyer which was a local chain Kroger bought years ago but kept the FM name.
MaeCrochet Mae, I am in awe of you for having a lousy day at work but not letting it sabotage your eating. Truly, that's would be a huge accomplishment for me -- right up there with bringing about world peace. Hope today goes better.
Cindy Hope that staying home is helping that knee. And BTW, staying home because you can barely walk and are in pain does not make you a bad girl. Staying home and eating an entire chocolate layer cake might move you into that category, but taking care of yourself does not. I had to reread the sentence about your husband not having eaten his Easter bunny yet. There are people who do that? In the old days (you know, yesterday!), I would have eaten mine and then gone to the store to buy five more at the 1/2 price sale. May explain a few things! Hope your knee starts feeling a lot better.

All of the patching work got done on the great baseboard project yesterday and today I'll do the touch up painting. The next project is Toby. He desperately needs to be groomed, but I'm never sure which one of us hates it more. It usually takes me about 3 hours to do him, but this time I'll be giving him his summer buzz cut.

Off to the gym and then the painting. Nothing exciting planned on the diet front, but some inspiration will hit by the end of the day. Have a great day.

Mandy Great job for not eating your feelings!! I am an emotional eater too so I know how you feel....but you're doing awesome! Keep going!!!

Cindy Good call on giving your knee another day. Your health is more important than your boss having to hustle a little more with you being gone so don't worry about it

Betsy My mentor lol...You're right about the staying late and on the weekends. I almost never use my weekends for work but there were times in the last month that I stayed late since I wasn't going to the gym to get caught up. In the summer her son is going to be coming to work for us so that will be nice to have him help me with my files and stuff. He's almost 17 now so he's to the point where he'll actually do the work instead of baby around about it like he has in years past. I just need to let the not so important stuff pile up I guess and maybe she'll get the hint. She is nice, but not the easiest person to talk to when it comes to stuff like hiring another person, etc. I've heard of Fred Meyer and heard they're a pretty good store...Never been to one but then again I haven't been out west...DH has told me a few things that are the same but so different out west with stores and different brands...I think he said Hellman's mayo is called Best Food's or something like that? And Hardee's is Carl's Jr. lol...I find that so funny for some reason...why does there have to be different names for the same thing? LOL

So first thing this morning when I get to work, I find an e-mail from the annoying client...It read something like "I appreciate all the work you've done to help me, but unfortunately I've found an insurance company that is offering me much better price, so I have gone with them." SEE YA!!!!!!!!! Granted I was able to cut his $14K premium in half, I was glad to see him go...One less person who doesn't appreciate what you try to do for them...he can be someone elses problem. Other than that the day went pretty well. I was by myself for like 4 hours because my boss had some meetings today and my co-worker had a "doctors" appointment. She weighs probably 190 pounds, she doesn't look fat in my opinion but she went to see this doctor who is supposed to help you lose weight by prescribing phentermine and some other pills to take in conjunction with eating better and exercising. I can't believe people can still get phentermine with how dangerous it is. My mom took me to the same place when I was 10 years old and they prescribed it to me..I didn't know what it was and neither did my mom and it didn't to much for me...I can't believe they would prescribe that to a child!! Granted back then they didn't know what they know now about the drug but still. She told me about her appointment and they advised her to get the IUD she has out because it isn't safe or natural and advised her to try something else...she couldn't remember what they said but I find it hilarious that they will prescribe someone phentermine but say in the same breath an IUD isn't natural and dangerous LOL!!!

I'm having a smoothie before I work out. Figured I'd post before my work out since I got home a little late today. I made it with 1 frozen banana, 8 frozen strawberries (these were small ones), 1 spoonful of peanut butter, almond milk, and 1 square of cacao chocolate. It's awesome! Smoothies have been my go to after "school" snack ....I don't always put the chocolate or peanut butter in there but today I was feeling adventurous and these seem to do well with my energy for my workouts. I don't end up feeling shaky like when I don't have a snack before I work out. That's something I never skip anymore because I don't like that feeling and it will make the rest of the night bad for me. I thawed some ground turkey out for dinner tonight. Have no clue what I'm going to make. DH is thinking about it...nothing sounds good to him. I would just make tacos and call it a day but that's just me. Maybe some asian style meatballs? I haven't made those in awhile....Ah well...I'll post tomorrow about what I did end up making...Can't believe tomorrow is Friday already!! The weather has been rainy all week I'm hoping it clears out so I can actually go outside this weekend!

Have a great evening everyone!!

Thanks for all the encouragement, everyone! Today was much better, thank goodness! I also realized today that I kind of like exercising. I don't like that I don't have a lot of time for it, but I feel so much better when I fit it in. I picked up two Leslie Sansone "walk at home" DVDs at Target and they're actually a lot of fun, and I break a pretty good sweat. My dogs get PO'ed, though, because I have my shoes on and I'm not taking them outside for a walk!

Tootsie & Sam ~ Yeah My day is going to go good. I hope your day goes good too.

Ubee ~ Thanks for telling me what cross posting is.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I woke up at 5:00 a.m. and its 7:11 a.m. today I plan to go on my walk outside if it stops storming today if not I'll do my walking dvd. Right now I'm just posting on here and on a weight loss support group forum while eating breakfast. I hope everyone has a wonderful day.
Good morning all. Looks like another beautiful day out there, but I'm in my office to do my weekly warfarin level testing and haven't really checked out the weather yet. Really, retirement is more exciting than this!
No personals today as I've got a lot to get done this morning. Gym comes first, then I need to get cleaned up as a girlfriend and I are going over to Olympia to the Farmer's Market this afternoon followed up by Thai for dinner. Haven't decided what I'll get, but will try to make sure that I don't eat a meal of noodles.
The baseboard/trim project is now done, and I'm so glad that I did it as things look so fresh. It was really just touching up the places where the baseboard and door frames had gotten hit and needed some touch up. Toby is the next project.
Off to the gym. Hope everyone has a great day.
Tests, tests, and more tests! The answer to the question of why I'm having painful spasms in my legs and arms is staring right at us: it's serotonin toxicity from being on too many medications that activate serotonin pathways. Bob and I have researched this thing until we're blue in the face, have printed out scientific papers to give to my doctors, but still they want to rule out other things with more tests. God forbid they should have made a mistake by putting me on too many meds!
I forgive them. It's no big deal. Let's just get with the program and get me off those meds! =sigh=
I may soon cry out "Mutiny!" and do it myself!
Mandy Happy to hear about your DVDs Finding something that you enjoy in my opinion is key because if you don't enjoy it you won't keep doing it. Funny to hear about the doggies and their confusion as to why they aren't getting to go outside and sniff! Hope you had a good day today
Terra I'm with you on the stormy weather...It's been cloudy all week and raining on and off since Monday. I've haven't been able to go outside for walk and I'm dying! I don't mind working out inside but I miss the sunshine!
Betsy Glad you got the trim done..I'm sure Toby can't wait to get his hair cut lol...Hope you enjoyed your time at the farmer's market today!!
Fi I can't believe the doctors aren't even hearing you out...especially with your background in medicine....I'm sorry to hear you have to go through more tests. Just be careful if you do decide to stop taking certain meds...it could be bad news. Sending love your way darlin!
Ubee Hello my friend!! Where are you? I miss you!! Hope you're still getting your "we" time in! How's the eating going? Are you getting any other exercise in besides the walks with DH?
Had a busy day at work and was pooped when I got home but I still managed to bust out a Chalene Johnson video since its still icky outside...Tonight I did turbo sculpt and then followed up with some free weights for my arms. I'm in the middle of cooking dinner now...we're having a pork version of chicken bog tonight. For me instead of the rice I'm doing cauliflower rice and DH is having regular rice. By the way we did end up having tacos for dinner haha....I used lettuce leaves for my tortilla instead of a regular tortilla. If I use tortillas I generally make that a weekend thing but lately I'm trying to stay away from them and all breaddy stuff again.
DH and I are supposed to be going yard saling tomorrow hopefully the weather holds out. Still on the look for a microwave and now I need a coffee pot for the office because ours is leaking and I'm tired of having to clean it up every day since I'm now the only one that drinks coffee at the office.
Anyway, cutting this short..Hope everyone has a great evening...Don't want my dinner to burn!!! Night friends!
Well, things have gone downhill this week in terms of healthy eating. I'm not sure if it's just because I've been plateaued for a few weeks, or the rainy weather lately, or what. My no-binge streak has been broken several times this week and I can't seem to rebound.
Not sure what to do about it. This weekend I'm going to be going to a con (that is, a convention at a hotel, this one is about fantasy and sci fi), so maybe that will distract me.
Sam— The reason the dang doctors don't listen to me is that there's prejudice going on: doctors (retired doctors, too) are supposed to be the worst patients, because they're always telling their doctors what to do. So every time I open my mouth to say something about serotonin toxicity, their ears have bubble gum in them. Know what I mean?
Today I fell again in the bathroom. Even with all the clever helpers (a low stool) Bob has devised, I still fall in the bathroom about one time out of four. This whole adventure is really testing our marriage, but the good news is, the teamwork is performing well. Bob has magically turned into a person who doesn't mind getting things, and doing things, for me. For example, not only does he make my coffee in the morning, he refills my cup as needed. And he himself doesn't even drink coffee... He really deserves a ton of credit. I love him so much...
rabidstoat— Have you gotten yourself a copy of Brain over Binge by Kathryn Hansen? Look it up on Amazon and read the reviews. And/or read some of Hansen's blog. Then get the book! Her technique works!
