  • Hi everyone

My name is Ryan and I'm here to join the 300+ club.

I'm 30 years old and I currently weigh in at a fluffy 336 pounds. (It hurts just typing that number) I'm married, have an 8 year old son and currently live in the Atlanta GA area. It's sad but I've been overweight all my life. It's finally time to change that.

I just wanted to say an official "hi" and that I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone.
  • Welcome Ryan. I am 30 as well and started at 335.. I so know the pain in having to type the number, lol. Good luck with all of your goals, do you have a specific plan in mind?
  • Hello Ryan,
I hope you join our exercise thread!! I look forward to getting to know yoiu better.
  • Welcome Ryan! I too started at 332 and am in my 30s. It's wonderful that you are making healthy choices. I look forward to hearing more from you as you progress on your journey!
  • Thanks everyone.

@mamadoll - My plan at the moment is to reduce my calorie intake, eat better foods and exercise daily (30 min walking). I guess I'm trying to change my lifestyle rather than just diet.
  • Good plan! I am a calorie counter as well, I try to stick to whole foods and exercise and with only 16 lbs lost I already feel better. I look forward to seeing your progress!
  • Welcome Ryan
  • Welcome! You have come to the right place! Good luck on your journey, I look forward to reading your future threads and getting to know you.
  • It was great to see you posting on the exercise thread!!!
  • Thanks everyone

@sweetcakes736 - I thought you'd like that. I was a little hesitant at first but figured why not. I'm hoping it'll help me stay motivated.
  • Celestial-
For me the exercise thread has made it so much easier to stay committed to my new journey. Since December I've lost 70 pounds and when I first started when I walked a half a mile, I needed a hour nap, but now I can do 3 hours a day and not even sweat it.
Last week, I went canoeing down the Buffalo river for 8 miles, I wasn't sore after I was done and the morning after I still felt great. Sunburn but that was about it.
It's amazing how belonging to something bigger than yourself can help you in so many ways you never even dreamed possible.
I look forward to traveling with you as you gain health and endurance.
    Take care
    Faith
