morning ladies.

I am around..had my mammo done on wednesday. Guess I can put that on my yearly to do list!

My son finally got a job! He starts this saturday. I am so glad! Jobs are horrible here..probably everywhere too but Arizona is really bad.

I am going to work on cards for OWH this weekend and watch the Superbowl at my sisters house.

Hope everyone is doing as good as they can be.

Anyone heard about Rat??

Hiya My Peeps!!! I'm HOOOOOME!

Just in time for the storm of the century in DC. They are predicting 30 inches. GAWD. Things were bumpy in the beginning. TOM showed up, ugh. It took a little while to get pain meds tweaked with nausea meds in order to feel ok. I walked around tons and did my incentive spirometer for my lungs and promptly got a sinus infection. I'm on an antibiotic for that. Just because of the low grade fever, I had a leak test with barium and passed it with flying colors.. YAY! The xray doc and tech just couldn't get over how well I looked. The surgery team said I looked good. I had great talks with the nutritionist.

My boss brought over flowers and a nice card. It's a pretty bouquet.

I'm walking around, repeating everything at high decibels for my dad, repeating everything because Mom says "huh" out of habit.

That's my update for now! Home and doing well and practicing family tolerance.

Hugs,
Ratkity

Ratkity - Your BOSS brought you flowers?! There's a keeper!! I hope you're feeling stronger & peppy-er every minute!

Annie, I've been gone too. I tend to pop in here once or twice every couple months. It's time to stick to it again. One day at a time. I'm leaving Bill - I just can't afford to stay. I'm financialy destroyed and emotionally tapped out. The worst of it is I may lose Gabriel. I don't know. One day at a time. At least I love my job, and I have a lot of options in life. But winning the lottery would be really good right now.

Hey VOODOO! I'm jealous, you've been riding. It's either been SO bitterly cold, or I've been buried at work, or both. I haven't ridden since just before Christmas. I also think I may be trying to seperate myself a little, emotionally. If I think about losing Gabe while I'm at the barn, I just get all stupid and start sobbing, and somehow that takes the fun out of it, ya know? I'll know soon how it's all going to work out.

In the meantime - I'm trying hard to at least cut back and be reasonable. I'm not binging on the way home from work, which is a huge improvement by itself. I need to get more exercise in, and continue to cut out more carbs. Just stopping the binging is major tho.

Have an awesome day everyone!

Welcome Cheeky! You will love it here on 3FC. Lots of information and a great place for support.

RK -> Glad you are home and feeling better. I am praying for a quick recovery for you and a smooth transition into your new nutrition lifestyle.

Things here are as Chaotic as ever. My 2 oldest are in basketball right now and the oldest just talked me into signing him up for baseball in the spring. It's non-stop, which is good, because it keeps me from downtime thinking about being hungry, and it keeps me moving.

I think I mentioned before I got the Gowearfit armband. So far I LOVE IT! It has made a tremendous difference in what I eat since I log everything I eat. However it has also been a eye opener in the physical activity piece too. I will be posting my progress as I move along.

TGIF!

I got my @#$%^ computer back. They saved all my photos, documents and music. Everything else, I had to reload, download, etc. Plus, since this was a really nasty trojan horse, I changed all my passwords, on everything. I have spent hours reloading word, and printers, and downloading adobe and firefox. He will be in the dog house for awhile. Not to mention the $200 it cost to get that thing off my computer.

Wow, Catherine,

Glad you got that bugger off your machine. Scary stuff!

I had to restore another laptop today because something messed with the admin passwords.. ugh! Either that or it was a corrupted file. Still. Makes ya wonder.

Hugs,
Ratkity

Ratkitty, SO PLEASED you are doing well, wish I was closer so I could lend a hand (to get things 'Sharon clean' just don't do ANYTHING for a week, except laundry, lol!!!) & keep an eye on you.xxxxxxxx
Valerie, OMG I TRULY HOPE you don't lose him, is there anything that can be done, him being 'loaned' out for a while or even (Sorry) if it's part of divorce stuff lying & saying he's been sold? If it's his probs it is terrible you should suffer. I hope things turn out right for you, you deserve so much more than you're getting! WTG on staying on healthy eating, even cutting out 'bad' stuff is BRILLIANT when you're going through tough times. hugs xxxxxxxx
Catherine you got the mortgage paid off quickly, you've only been married 3? years or was it his before you met? We thought we were lucky paying ours off in 4 more years, we like to go without & pay it off quicker THEN we can buy new carpets & decorate, so many young ones now just hock themselves right up the creek. So glad you're sensible too, this financial climate is hard as it is. WTG! xxxxxxxx
Went out last night for my birthday, 45 omg, I feel so OLD! When we went in the pub I felt even older, lol! I was virtuous, had 5 vodka slimline tonics & 1 JD & diet coke, NO CHIPS!! Normally I do have loads of food when I get home but I'd saved a bar of my low carb meal replacement specially & enjoyed it with a pint of water. I was a bit sad as one of the girls is bigger than me but kept trying to get me to eat chips (like cheese curls) even though I explained how low carb works & how a few carbs can cause major gains (in water weight).

I wasn't sure if I could post a link here or not. But the name is gowearfit just add in the www and the dot com and you will be all set. If you watch The Biggest Loser they wear the same kind, made by the same manufacturer, but it was made for 24 hour fitness to market so it has the name body bugg. I am loving it so far. It has really made me accountable since it requires I log in my food.

Ratkitten..glad to hear you are home and recovering well!

OrganizedChaos..I know what you mean about the kids in sports and keeping you busy...which is good for me. My oldest is in basketball my middle one wants to play baseball...then it will be time for soccer and back to basketball...less downtime to think about food!

I also wear the gowear fit arm band. I started it back in the middle of Jan. and I am loving it! It is keeping me accountable...just like today I was thinking about having a "snack" just because...ugh... but I checked my calorie burn and I just really don't have enough burnt to eat that "snack" and eat a good dinner...so I am holding off for dinner ;-) I like how I can see what I have burnt in calories so I know what I can eat.

Sharon-Yeah, we just had our 4th anniversary, and moved in here in May 2006. It helped that it was a small condo, and we bought before the height of the boom. We did without a car, and just focused on the mortgage. He was afraid that if something happened to him, I'd be in a foreign country, etc. We couldn't get mortgage insurance because of his illness. There is something to be said for doing one thing at a time. Now we can focus exclusively on our health. Starting tomorrow after the Superbowl party of course.
