Alright, the world is a better place. I weighed in Monday and had not lost anything in the past week, even though eating clean.

This morning I weighed in and am down 4 lbs from Monday. I can't help but think I must have been retaining water Monday...

Hi All,

Metro girls: Thanks for letting us know that you guys are okay and weren't in the accident. Hugs to you both.

Kootch: Congrats on the -4 more pounds! Way to go.

Cyn: Hugs and hope you feel better soon.

Everyone else. Hugs and hope you are well. This week is so busy for me. I spoke at my surgeon's weight loss seminar last night and have my interview at 4 p.m today and I have been just cruising on the day exercising and stuff. I have a bible study tonight after my interview. Tomorrow evening is another meeting with the therapist. I"m actually looking forward to it. Hmmm I wonder if it has anything to do with the sun shining here today after a loooong absense. I really think I get so depressed when it is cloudy for so long. I need to think about that one.

I hope you all have a wonderful day.

Blessings to you all,
Annie

Hi there! I'm new and just starting this whole thing. I started out by tracking my calorie intake for a few days as normal (like I would normally eat), just to see what I've been consuming this whole time, and it was around 3,500 calories! :O

This week I've been tracking with calorieking, with a goal of 2,000 calories and have been sticking to it. Lost 4 lbs! Right now I weigh 310 lbs... do you think 2000 calories is too much, too little, or just right?

And Annie.. I can't believe you've lost so much weight overall! How long has it taken you from your SW til now? :O

Hi sakurasky, I have no idea how old you are, but you look like you are in your mid twenties, so I put your height and weight and age guestimate into a calculator and it says for you, at your current weight, height, age you need 2168 just to *maintain* your weight and this is if you are essentially in your bed 24/7. IOW, you do *nothing*. Now, for someone at your height, weight, age who has a desk job (IOW Sedentary) you would need 2602 calories. That is the minumum.

I know that I am currently eating 1900-2000 (sometimes more...sometimes less) and am losing consistently...and I am 45 YO, hypothyroid and at present weigh less than you. These calculators are not exact, but they at least give you a ballpark figure and then you can adapt it to you and your body.

Hope this helps!

sakurasky -- I would say the right number of calories is a matter of trial and error. At your weight, 2000 is a great place to start. I personally lost on 2000 calories for quite a while! If you're losing a couple of pounds a week at that level, it sounds good!

I just got through making 3 chocolate sheet cakes for my husband's birthday party. Just looking at them is making me sick to my stomach. That's a big change. It's my grandmother's recipe, and the house now smells like her house at Christmas. That always brings a smile to my face.

I'm here reading - just not much to say. Things are going well - looking for a whoosh one of these days. I'm enjoying the break from my formal exercise classes this week (and next). Tomorrow I will work on the stone more - hoping to have it completed for next weekends festivities.

Hugs to all

Morning everyone. Day 3 of a summer cold that is kicking my butt! Blech! It is so humid here that I feel like I am retaining all kinds of water....and the scale is saying I am too. I am used to the scale bouncing all over. You need to be OK with that if you weigh daily, which I do.

Oh well...off to start my day. Have a great weekend everyone!

Hey everyone...another week goes by and I'm MIA again lol. But hey I'm over the flu and weee...getting over my hormones, TOM visited. YUCK! You know, as a woman you know TOM is coming and I swear I see myself more and more rolling my eyes lol. I mean I know I'm gonna crave things like chocolate and excessive amounts of hummus, okay I'm a hummus junkie, and I won't be able to see my true weight for like what, a week or more?...bah! lol

Though I have to say being on the pill has helped my hormonal depression issues. It is literally like night and day, but I am going to try the non-generic version of my pill next month so hopefully the illness I get when I start the dreaded "white" or "active" pills will not be so bad. *crosses fingers*

Anyhow...things are okay with me. I miss coming here and want to start being more active again. I go through these periods where I don't speak with anyone really...I don't know why. Maybe the loner in me?

****

Torister - I hope you get well soon. Summer colds/flu are the worst!

Catherine - I've noticed that seeing cake doesn't thrill me anymore. I had some chocolate cake last night and it wasn't an enjoyable experience. Put a small tub of hummus in front of me...well then I'm in heaven lol. What a change...I dunno where or when that happened to me.

Sakurasky - Welcome and woohoo!

Annie - I don't know what it is, but when I was out in the sun I felt better. I loved feeling the sun...now everything is cloudy and has been for like two weeks...rain rain rain..which I love, but you know I love the sun too! lol

morning ladies..

Jacquie: I have never tried hummus. With all my food allergies I would probably be allergic. BUT I hear that it is good.

As for me: I started my new thyroid medication..so far so good. I called the Dr office because I THOUGHT I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism. BUT it is Hypothyroidism. What got me to thinking was I was looking up the meds online and they were saying for hypo. BUT when I was first diagnosed, my T3 and T4 were high..like 12 when it should be between 1-3. Sooo I always thought since those were high...it would be hyper..producing too much. Guess I was wrong.

Yesterday was good at work. And it was cluody outside which made going out on breaks better.

Last night I cut out some more pieces for my quilt. They are a muslim color that I am going to put inbetween the stars..I think I want to tea die them. Anyone know how to do that????

Well I am glad it is friday. I am actually looking forward to having a few days off. Sometimes i hate the weekends cause hubby works...but I am going to try and focus on going through more junk!

Have a great day all!

Busy house cleaning for the party tomorrow. I have no idea how many are coming. I caught him inviting people at the bus stop. He does love parties. I'm making enough chili to feed an army. I couldn't have done this a couple of weeks ago. I just have so much more energy since starting this medicine. I really didn't know how bad I had been feeling until I started feeling better.

Azcyn, yes, the higher the numbers in the T3/T4 ratio means hypothyroidism. When I was tested the year I was diagnosed, my number was 89. I was having heart palpitations and I think every single symptom of severe hypothyroidism. Today, I hang around 1 (normal range is 0.5 - 3). My doc says if the numbers go too low, calcium is leeched from my bones. I'm glad you have started meds!! It will be a slow go before they start working. For us larger women, the hormones have to be depleted from fat cells before testing shows that there's a problem. It's going to take a while before things stablize. It think it took 2 years to get to a stable dose for me.

Catherine, I'm glad meds are working! W00h00 on bday party for Himself!!! Sounds like it's going to be a great time.

Hugs to all,
Ratkity
