Default 300+ Weekly Thread #1199

WELCOME!!

We are a group of individuals who weigh or have weighed 300+, or near there. This group was formed to provide a place for others like us to find support, inspiration, and hope. We are aware of the distinct problems that come with weighing over 300 lbs.

We want to invite everyone (roosters as well as chicks!) to join us in our journey. We share laughter and tears, heartaches and fears ... joys and celebrations. We also share what works for us and what doesn't.

We know the thread can move very quickly, and that people often make "personal" remarks and keep a number of conversations going. Please feel free to contribute even if you can't make personal comments all the time.

Finally, we also have several extra threads going on simutaneously such as Monthly Challenges, Weekly Weigh-ins, Recipes, Bios, Photos, Exercise, Info for Getting Started and more. Many of these threads are stickied at the top of the page. Please feel free to check them all out.

We have found this thread to be more than just a support group... we have found it to become a home. We invite you to join us.

I know you'll all agree that we are really thankful for the free services here at 3FC. The sisters offer all of this support and information with no charges to us. There are a couple of ways though that we can help out.

If you are thinking about buying anything at Amazon, why not help out 3FC at the same time? You can do this by clicking on the button for the Amazon "store" in the upper right hand corner of the screen on the PURPLE tool bar. A portion of your purchase price will be given to 3FC by Amazon. It doesn't increase your price at all, but it does help out 3FC. You can use any of the Amazon.com links that you see on the site in order to help contribute to the site.

Also, BTW, in case you didn't know it, you can view the message boards "ad free" for a minimal charge. I think it's $15 for 6 months. A very small investment to be rid of the annoying ads and make your pages load quicker.

There have been some concerns expressed by the powers that be about copyright infringement. So please, if you are directly quoting someone else or printing an article in whole or in part, please give credit where credit is due!!

Good Monday morning *yawn*

I did it and there are no headlines in the Washington Post that say "Fat Woman's Morning Mishap on the Treadmill". Yes indeedy, I walked a half mile on the treadmill first thing this morning and didn't kill myself. lol

I've planned my food for the day.

Hugs to all on this Monday morning!

Luv,
Rat

Rat -- Hey, great about the treadmill!

Want to enter those minutes on the exercise thread? We need everyone we can to contribute their minutes! We're trying to break our 2007 goal of 205,000 minutes exercised!

So consider this an invitation to everyone! You don't need to make a commitment unless you want to!

I here trying to keep up cold kicked my behind last week. Still got a lil bit of it. And Friday got my Mary Kay stuff and my face broke out majorly. I'm totally red all over breaking out and it burned. And it itches like crazy So got to call the company later today and then ship this back. Even the make up was making my eyes itch and all. Gotta find a new way to make money and I was doing so good with this

Happy Monday everyone.

I'm doing a quick post as I'm fixated on writing up a document sheet for technical specs regarding a web site, sooooo...blah! lol

I have been a bit naughty with my eating the past two days. I realized I'm a bit hormonal AGAIN! I sort of said "omg is that like a cramp?! Why am I so tried? Why am I so moody?" and then I'm like "NOOOOOO I just had my monthly didn't I?" I swear it was only two weeks ago. *sighs*

Anyhow, I got my insurance FINALLY and am finding a doctor to go see. I have so many issues...I'm probably going to annoy said doctor, but lol I needs healing! haha. We'll see, currently seeking doctor.

Going to do my cardio workout today. My goal is to get through it all. Tomorrow I go for my walks in the morning and see what I can do regarding the cardio workout in the afternoon. This morning I had such a hard time getting up. I'm fatigued and I know that is hormonal. Oy.

I hope everyone is well. *HUGS*

Happy Monday all! I am so happy to report I have finally, finally broken my stall. I had stalled out at 92 lbs lost for over a month - really my scale was fluctuating between 270-275 after having hit 268 once around the middle of January...anyway, did a lot of research on Atkins and stalls and found something called an egg and meat fast. Basically you drop your carb level down to 5-10 a day for a week or two and it breaks your stall and sends you back into a losing mode. And, it's working!! I started on Saturday and have gone down 4 lbs since then, yay! I'll stay on this "fast" for about the next 10 days then go back up to induction. It's such a relief to be out of that stall.

I celebrated breaking the stall by FINALLY going out and doing some shopping. I had plenty of clothes between a size 24-32, and plenty in a 14, 16, 18, but nothing in a 20 or 22, which I am now down to.

So, dropped a hundred at Catherine's and another hundred at Lane Bryant ~ jeans, 2 sweaters, 2 blouses, 2 light jackets and best of all 2 new bras and matching unders. It all actually *fits* and is *flattering* in a size 18/20 (their sizes have gone up since the last time I shopped there, 10 years ago). Looking in the mirrors at the stores, I actually could see the difference between now and six months ago, which I cannot see in mirrors at home. I am starting to get my figure back. I feel really good about myself today.

And, the saleslady at Catherine's ~finally~ recognized me, after I'd been in there for half an hour, then she couldn't quit raving about how much weight I've lost since the last time I was in there, about a year ago ~ she was raving so much she drew a crowd then I had to explain Atkins to all the ladies in there. I may have made a few converts, who knows. Catherine's was the only place I could shop as a size 32 - the way I'm built, I was way too large for Lane Bryant.

I want everyone to have a wonderful, wonderful week!

Hello all! Sorry I've been sporadic here the last week or so. Been so super busy.

I am pretty upset. I weighed this morning, and I gained. AGAIN. Up to 356.0! It's making me so upset, because I was 100% OP this past week, and went to the gym. *sigh* TOM did show up this morning for the first time in 8 months. Hopefully that's why I am up nearly 8 lbs in two weeks!

OK - I'm so tired I'm gonna just copy my post from the other thread

Hey Peeps - I'm back - relaxed yet exhausted - we got home at 2 a.m. today and I was at work at 6:30. The scale said I gained 16 pounds - I think about 10 of it is water from the size of my ankles. I fell in Belize somehow after hugging the tour operator and I am one big cut/bruise down the left side. On Thursday I was "bit/stung" (whatever it is a stingray does to you) near the beach by a stringray in Costa Maya. I hope none of you ever experience it personally or see someone go through it. The venom (we were told) is that of 100 wasp stings - not a pretty sight as it attacks the nervous system. Within about 3 hours I was feeling better and no longer in shock. Back into the water I went on Friday at Grand Cayman - we had a wonderful time.

It feels wonderful to be home. More later.

Hugs,
Carol

I will only say that I am back and happy to be back on here. So much family stuff going on with my sister in and out of the hospital and helping my dad out... I couldnt seem to find any time for myself... the good news I didnt gain weight back... bad news... I didnt lose any either. However, I keep thinking that I will now that a lot of that stress is gone. and I am about to start Atkins on Wednesday... it will be easier to quit carbs when I've got to face God if I eat them (Lent)....

congrats on going down in the clothes. My closet is the same as yours and I am so excited to get back into my "skinny" clothes. 5 years ago I called them my fat clothes... oh well!!! I'm happier and more satisfied...

Lorrie

P.S. my knee is finally a bit better, for longer periods of time :0

GGG! OMGosh, it sounds like you had an adventure. When you are rested, I wanna hear more.

Lorrie, hope your knee keeps getting better. I twisted my good knee in my sleep! no less. Took months for it to get better. Give it time.

Kaylee, I have the same problem during TOM times too. Hang in there. Keep up your good work!

Yay Bazz and DChound! Nothing like a little retail therapy either.

Hugs to deb, Deb54, Heather, Jacq and keeper!

Luv,
Ratkity

Interesting day here yesterday...We live next to the alley in our small town. The city crew have been working on the sewers and i knew that they would be working next to my house yesterday. I raised the blind for the boys to watch the backhoe digging and the men working. The boys love the big trucks and stuff. THey stood on the couch for 3 hours and watched. THE hole got to be about 30ft deep. Then all of a sudden the waterline broke...sending water spraying everything.Im talking a huge guser!! They were not able to find the shut off in our neighborhood and the water sprayed for over 3 hours. It was cold enough here that it turned to ice on my house. The boys of course thought it was AWESOME!!! I thought it was pretty funny until I went downstairs and found water creeping into my basement.NO FUN NOW!!! I called the mayor and he offered to pump it out. they will be here working again today.Hopefully no more problems for the workers.

I didnt do as good yesterday as i have been doing with my diet. Not sure if it was the stress of water everywhere or the wedding looming. TOday I will plan better!! I wont take the easy way out on dinner. I had way to many chips with my soup last night. We also ended up on a boil water order and i didnt have much water on hand. I will drink all my water today!!
I made over 30 trips to the basement yesterday to check the water level. I wonder if that counts as exercise??? LOL Its all down this morning and we just have wet carpet left behind.
hope everyone has a great day!!

Good morning Peeps!

deb, oh my!! I can only smile at what the little boys thought about the whole situation: big trucks, big hole, and then a geyser!! Not so fun for you, but that's priceless entertainment for little boys.

I was afraid I'd have change my ticker cuz I was up 3 lbs more yesterday, but I did my little piggie impression and went wee wee wee all the way home all day. I'm happy to say it was all water weight. I did another half mile on the treadmill this morning. I now have one full day of OP under my belt. This includes wearing my cpap mask all night long, exercise and journaling my food. Yesterday at work, I stayed away from cream cheese and bagels, a hugmonous cake and all the foods at a g'bye party (for someone else getting a better job). Phew.. why is this always a struggle?

Hugs to all,
Ratkitten
