Just finished up my paper for the week. It was on the synoptic problem. At least it isn't a problem for me anymore. I'm going to the pool in the morning, and it will be the first time I have been able to go more than once in a week since I moved from Florida. My first observation is that my swimsuits dried quicker in Florida than they do here. I think it is time to make a new suit anyway.

Exercise makes such a difference for me. I went to the pool on Tuesday, was wasted Tuesday night, but woke up this morning like some kind of crazy person. I did all the chores I had planned to do, plus about twice again on ones I didn't think I'd get to. I find it easier to do my school work when my chores are done because I can concentrate without looking around at the stuff I "should" be doing. I'm hoping for a similar bounce after tomorrow's trip to the pool. It even makes it easier to stay OP.

Got weighed today at my slimming club, lost 4lbs, a bit fed up though as I gained 5 last week without knowing why!!! Anyway it's spurred me on to start exercising now my head is feeling much better. I had a nice walk around the shops & bought lots of veg & healthy foods so I'm all set.
Zelma SO GLAD you had a fab holiday, I sat here feeling quite sick with jealousy!! You have been missed.xxxxxxxx
Cyn I don't watch it but get emails from Jillian's site, it seems WAY too strict and frankly cruel. Ok we all want to lose quickly but surely it can't be good for someone to push themselves that much when they are very heavy to start with.xxxxxxxxxx
Valerie WHERE ARE YOU???xxxxxxxxx
Kayley it helps not to have grey hairs if you're dyeing your hair too!!! lol I have a few so really bright reds & purples are out for me but please post some pics if you do it. I can live my hair colour fantasies vicariously through you, lol. Yep we get snow but not tons of it but a few miles away from us is Snake Pass, usually the first & last place in England to get snow.xxxxxxx
Ggg how are things, are you still going for it at the gym?xxxxxxx

Hi Ladies
It has been a rainy day on and off. It rained throughout the night from about 7pm so pretty miserable here weather wise. We have building works at the back of our bungalow at the minute and it looks like they are today sorting the storm drains out at the back here. We have had very wet back gardens for a long time but no one wanted to take responsibility for this problem but now they are building on the land I would suspect they are having huge trouble with the water themselves. They were there with rods and then later they were digging up an area a couple of bungalow ups. I really do hope they sort the issues out with the water so that we no longer become water logged.

I have been busy with the laundry stripping the two beds we have (spare one and the one we sleep in) so they are both washed now and made up. Towelling is also been washed so I think I have caught up with laundry chores. All I have is a very small amount of ironing to do. So I can have a fairly restful weekend which I had planned for.

My DH did not have such a good night last night as once again he was woken by his mouth giving him pain. So he used my wheat pad (type of bag filled with wheat that you can heat in the microwave) to do some heat therapy on the area. He did eventually get some relief so was able to fall asleep and get some more rest. He has made another dental appointment for tomorrow to see the dentist and see which way forward he wants to go with treatment for this infection.

Did not get to come on the INTERNET till later as DH PC decided to go “sick” on us probably in sympathy with him After some fiddling around and diagnosing it by trial and error it was found to be the video card. (This is what gives you a picture) Until DH PC was fixed I could not go on the INTERNET as my connect comes via his. It is a big enough connection to support both of our needs and worked out cheaper that way. Fortunately DH has some spare parts (parts taken out when he has upgraded PC) it is not a great video card but will work for the interim till we go shopping for one. DH never throws any PC part out just for this reason they will do for the emergency repair until you can buy a replacement. I seemed really lost without my connection so initially I have written this on a word pad my news until I get to read the posts.

dogpal He is by no means out of the woods but he is improved to what he was. Due to the swelling he has got a small amount of bruising beneath his right eye so it looks like I have thumped him one Will know more tomorrow treatment wise

voodoo1 on the 4lbs loss this week great work

CatherineM Glad you have finished your paper. Yes exercise sure can have a positive impact on the body. Like you say it can give you more energy and get up and go. Keep up the good work. Talking of exercise I have got to complete mind yet for the day will have a session after I have typed my post.

Realist It is not easy to stay within plan when others are catering for your food. The only thing I can suggest at this moment is to bring a packed lunch of your own to eat that way you can stay on plan. It will mean forward planning unfortunately and preparing the food before hand to take with you. I take food with me if I am going on a long journey as road side café are notoriously expensive but food not exactly healthy either. Maybe other users on here can shed some light on how to solve this problem.

ZedAus What a fabulous holiday you have taken a once in a life times experience. It was interesting to hear of the places you have visited and the different cultures you experienced. Looking forward to seeing the pictures from the holiday it is nice to see different things.

I am sure that the weight put on during your holiday will soon shift now that your back home and catering for yourself. I think most of us go and holiday and put a little on over this time.

LookingForMeAgain
Congratulations on the weight loss for the last couple of weeks

Take care and catch up with you soon

Purpleorc I forgot to say when I had an absess in my mouth a piece of cottonwool soaked in brandy or whiskey & applied directly to the sore area helped better than anything else. Anbesol is also very good (I use it when neuralgia is in my jaw/cheek & it helps) Dunno if all spirits help but I HATE whiskey but put up with it as it stoped the pain & of course helped kill germs, being alcohol, no doubt you've used varients of alcohol when you were a nurse. If that fails let him swirl with the spirit & drink it!! lol He will sleep after a couple of glases.xxxxxx

Wow, I haven't been here in forever and a day!

Just came over to check and see if I would recognize anyone, thinking most people come and go, and there would mostly be a new crowd here now. But no, I see MANY familiar friendly names, so I must be the only weenie who disappears for ages at a time!

I looked at my joine date today--February 2005. I was about 320 pounds then, I believe. And here I am 4 YEARS later, hovering around 300 pounds. It's amazing how evil and cyclical obesity can be. I am constantly in awe of those who are able to conquer it.

hahaha, the song Eye of the Tiger by Survivor just started playing on my computer radio--if that's not a sign, I don't know what is!

Yeah, when I hit 280# two years ago, I swore I would never let myself go over 300# again, but I slowly drifted up to 325# by this christmas. I am feeling focused again, so hopefully I can make a run at my goal weight this year and try to become maintainer.

Wow, it is amazing to see how many are still here... BUT really neat to see that several of us who have been gone all came back at the same time.

Zelma – WOW! That is some vacation! I can’t wait to see some pics.

Sharon – I will definitely share some pics if and when I do my hair. I’m up in the air about it, because last time I did my hair pink, it took FOREVER to come out of my hair, and I ended up dying it black to cover it up. Time will tell. Lol. Sometimes I just get in a mood, and I do something crazy. Lol.

Jill – GOOD TO SEE YOU!!! I wondered if you still came around here. I actually just dragged my butt back in here last week myself, so you are definitely not alone in that. Hope to see you around here more, lady!

Tomorrow’s Friday! Yay!!! I have to be up at campus all day, unfortunately. This is the first semester I’ve ever had to take classes on Fridays. Blah. Oh well, it’s all for the good, I suppose. Lol. Tomorrow night, I’m picking up my friend, and she’s staying with me, because we’re going sledding Saturday morning. We’re 21 & 22 respectively, but sometimes it’s good to be a kid! lol. And we’re taking a mini road trip on Saturday, so I’m pretty excited. We’re packing lunches, since we’re both trying to lose weight. She’s the friend that is auditioning for The Biggest Loser with me.

Have a great night, all!!!
