Just dragged DH away from his baseball game to take a pic in his new jeans for you all to see. I posted a couple of before shots of him those were taken last year around fall time.

I am so proud of him! He still has a tummy but it is down considerably since before his weight loss!

Hi everyone!
Hope everything is going well...I've been out of touch for about a week and whew....there's sooo much to catch up on. Glad to know that no one was waiting for me..lol! By the way, Cyn...I'm in AZ near Arrowhead Mall. I did post that before, but it musta got lost. So, I'm off to do the bike. Even though I've been away, I'm still exercisin'! AND...I lost another 3 lbs...not much, but I'll take it since I was at a stand-still for so long! So, may not be back till Monday, so hope everyone has a wonderful weekend..enjoy Father's Day!

This has been a very busy week and i feel like i have met myself coming and going. Eating hasnt been bad but not as good as normal. I am not sure if its the change in my daily rountine with school being out or if its something in my mind. I so bad wanted to get 50lbs off by this weekend. I will be lucky to break even this week.
Time to rethink my plan ...
have a good weekend everyone.

Evening all!

DMPLS, that's a dramatic change I see in BOTH of you!! You should be proud of DH.

Shic, don't let me ever hear you say 3 lbs is not much!!! I'll chase you around and throw water balloons at you! Three pounds is a phenomenal loss and you should be proud

Debi, I've had weeks like that. I hope next week goes better.

Well, I did DDR yesterday until I was drenched. Today did a record bike ride speed for 10 miles (13.1 mph). I was really feeling the burn and ran out of energy near the end, but it was still a great bicycle ride. I might get to change my stats again tomorrow.. w00h00!

Hugs and Luv,
Ratkity

OK - here's where you need to go to sign up for the 5k July 4th - please sign up - Gary will assign you a number - after I get my promised recruits I'm gonna up the ante.

I'm home from the lake - what a wonderful day I had. It is good to be home though. I hope to convince DH to go for a few days the week after the 4th too!

Hugs,
Carol

Hi chickies,
I've decided I'm going to try the South Beach Diet. I'm insulin resistant and from what I've read, this sounds like the diet that will help me. I've been yo-yoing the same 10 lbs for the last 3 or 4 months, and I think I need a new direction to go in. I've sort of gotten away from healthy calorie counting and have been eating all kinds of cr*p but making sure I don't go over in calories, which isn't the healthy way to do things. It's still fattening food no matter how you look at it.
So I'm going to give this one a try. Something new, and something I've never tried so I'm sort of excited about it and I think that's what I need again, something to be excited about.
When I first started this, I was doing low carbs, and did quite well. For some reason, I lost my way.....I'm found again! HA!!!

Carol, I'm so glad you had a wonderful time at the lake. It sounds like it would be so relaxing and fun. I'll go join the 4th of July 5k. This time I'll do it. I missed the last one.

Ratkity, are you on basic on DDR? Difficult is just that for me, too difficult!! Sounds like you got alot of exercise in and you feel great! Good for you!

Debi, I know exactly how you feel about rethinking your plan. It's what I had to do too, to mix things up. Good luck to you in whatever you decide to do.

Bernice, your hubby sure looks nice. What a difference. He even looks happier.

Tomorrow we will be working outside for most of the day. I can't wait. It turned out to be a beautiful day today, and tomorrow promises the same.
Have a lovely weekend!
Debbie

G'morning Chickies!!

Yup Debbie, I'm on DDR Basic. I can't seem to add that 1/8 note step in my workouts hehe. I did a record time bike ride yesterday 13.1 mph for 10 miles. I'm glad you are re-psyched about your new eating plan! I have to mix it up all the time when I'm lacking motivation.

I'm worried about my 19 yr old Captn kitty. I'm calling the vet as soon as he opens. Poor Cappy has a large swollen area under his chin and he's off his food (except for hand feeding of shrimpies).

I have to mow the yards today. The grass is knee high! eep!

Hugs and Luv,
Ratkity

DDR! I'm getting better! I'm moving from beginner to basic in some of the songs (I think that's the right order). I've occasionally tried the harder levels and just laugh a lot. It gets HARD!

Rat -- good luck with your kitty.

I know that this thread is for everyone and that the info I am going to link to is basically for menopausal women which would be the 40+ group, but I was a menopausal woman at the ripe age of 28 due to surgery so thought others might benefit from this info.

I haven't completely made sense about it all but found that it explains alot about my weight gain since my surgery!

It seems to me from my reading that everyone can benefit from supporting our adrenal gland health as well as Hormone balancing.

In the past after my surgery I was put on HRT patch.....found out that I could develop Breast Cancer as soon as 6mths on the patch.....so I weened myself off and found an all natural hormone balancing cream......I used it faithfully for over a year and my hormones were never a problem.....all symptoms were gone! (more than I could say for the patch!) then I started only using the cream for when I had hotflashes.....and slowly those stopped so I have not used the cream in over a year. In that year I put on 100lbs!!! slowly a little here & there......but I think that my hormones were a key in this weight gain......

So what I will do is start my hormone balancing cream once again and see how it effects my weight loss!

Hormones and your thyroid

Adrenal glands health

your adrenal glands are what help regulate cortisol which we have all heard is directly related to the extra weight we hold in our midsection. Also your adrenal glands health directly reflect your energy level!

Hope you find some info out of my ramblings that helps LOL
Not sure what all of this means to me exactly just sparked my interest and I think I will start my cream again to see how it effects my losses.

Well I got a nice unexpected suprise this morning when i weighed. I lost 2lbs and that puts me at 50lbs loss. It has taken only 20 weeks. Hubby lost and is a half of pound less than me still.LOL I dont think he likes the idea of me weighing less than him. Maybe it will help him get moving again. I am truly shocked that i lost because my eating hasnt been good this week and I havent exercised much...I will take it gladly!!! We are taking hubby out to eat tonight for fathers day. We are meeting the kids and seeing a movie.

I'm getting ready to run out the door but I just wanted to report that I'm down 7.8 pounds this week. I peeked at the scale yesterday but I should've known better than to look on freaky friday because it said I had gained weight. Today thankfully the scale was down, today is my weigh-in day anyway. I will be back on later.

Hi all!

I was on-plan yesterday - calorie deficit of -1,331, which partially compensates for Thursday - grr. I'm taking a day off from walking - cleaning my apartment instead - it sure needs it.

dgramie -- for making your 50 lb loss - that is fantastic!

Southern Gal -- lol on "freaky friday" and congrats on the great loss.

Debbie54 -- good luck with SB . . . I'm also slightly insulin resistant, and although I'm not following SB specifically, I am trying to avoid processed foods and limit high-glycemic-index carbs, which is sort of south-beachy . . . it does seem to help.

Debi I knew you could do it! I am thrilled for you!

Bernice that is great info! The pics of your hubby are very worthy of being proud!

I guess I am still getting the hand of short forms around here what is DDR?

Rat - do you find your speedometer really handy? DH says I should get one. I dont get a chance to cycle often with out kids which means I really dont get a good clip going.

Hi to everyone else.

Recovering from some drama over one of the families I babysit for. Parents did not want to pay me while they went home after drop off to finish grooming before going to work. Some where they felt that since they are not earning money while they do this I should not...but my time is my time and is worth something. I get ready for the day with my 3 kids and 3 babysitting kids. They only have the 1 child. So since I would not take the child for the "grooming" time. They let the air out of the tires of my truck. But I did not let them take space up in my day. I delt with the tires ate healthy and even exercised as I used the bikes for the day to travel. They did not success in "revenge" as I was not really put out in any way. Just annoyed at the childishness.

Have an awesome weekend!
