Lilion -- I count yardwork/shovelling if I feel I'm getting a good workout from it. (my personal rule). When I was shovelling this winter I made sure to get a good workout from it. Same with raking.
But I'm starting to NOT count things (like walking the dogs) that are intentional exercise but that don't give me a good workout. So if my walk with the dogs is very stop and go or less than 15 min I don't count it. But if I make it longer and keep myself moving the whole time, I do... Even so, it's not at much of a workout as a lot of the other things I do, so I don't know if I'll keep counting it. Interesting the rules we make for ourselves. |

Done it!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wahoo!! Met my goal for this month - did 70 mins at the gym doing my new regime, it was such hard work!! But anyway - so thats me as 900 minutes done, have lost a few inches and feel so much better as a result!!

Hi, add 30 mins of walking & 120 mins of hedge-clipping & sweeping up. I hope it qualifies as hubby normally does this but I didn't feel like housework & as the sun was shining I thought why not have a go AND burn some fat (& choccy) off!

Alright, so I went crazy and spent FOUR hours spring cleaning and spring gardening, I was working up a sweat the whole time so I am counting all of my minutes! I am so gonna pay for this tomorrow. But I am happy. I made it over my minutes and we sitll have two days left!!!!!!

I set myself a goal of averaging 40 mins a day again for this month. I'm glad I did, because it gave me plenty of room for movement as I often do around 60, but it was an 'emotional' month, so I also needed to know that I could have rest days when I needed them. It happened that I went over my goal, but I didn't want to push myself again. I think I will just set a steady goal of 1200 mins a month now that I am maintaining. It seems to be enough, even though I generally go over. I don't want to commit to more, just in case.
I have done a mixture of walking outside, walking/jogging on the treadmill, exercise bike, Cross Trainer/Elliptical, Home Gym (weights) and aerobics DVDs. I have enjoyed the variety. Personal Goal... 1540/1200 Putting me 340 mins OVER my goal for March. Group Total... 16,787 + 1540 = 18,327 Well done everyone! I hope April sees everyone being active. Zelma |
