ANNIE - Didn't I tell you you would lose weight and that we just had to see how much? 9.4 LBS I am so happy for you. Next week you will be out of the 500s FOREVER

Big Hugs,

Ammi

Ya' don't always know what your relationship is like with your

Good morning....oops, I guess it's afternoon already! It feels nice to be back on the boards again. The weather is beautiful today so I took advantage of it and walked my little dog. We both enjoyed it.

I am so excited because Rod Stewart is going to be in concert here in Dallas on 4/18 and I was able to buy some pretty great seats this morning on Ticketmaster! I got on right away at 10AM when they went on sale. They were expensive, but worth it. I think it will be an awesome concert. I will be going with a girlfriend of mine. I'm already singing...."If you want my body and you think I'm sexy, come on, sugar, let me know...."

I don't have much planned for this weekend. I had a busy weekend last weekend getting my carpet cleaned, a hair appt, dinner with friends at Medieval Times (fun show, food was blah) on Sat. and then on Sunday went to a museum exhibit with a new friend and out for a late lunch afterwards. So this weekend I really just feel like staying in and taking care of things at home. I am trying to get my office/scrapbook room organized. Plus I'd like to get my income taxes done and out of the way. Oh, and I also need to study for my calculus class. We have our first test next Thursday and since I don't always have lots of time during the week I thought I'd better get some extra studying in this weekend. I am enjoying the class although it has thrown a kink into my normal routine. But it's good to get back into the swing of school before I start my MBA program this summer. I love the teacher of this class. He is quirky to say the least. At first I was annoyed by him but he's grown on me.

Catharine - Thanks for posting these tips. I look foward to the activity ones!

Patti - How fun that you are getting a WII. I have thought about getting one of the new gaming systems but am afraid I would get addicted and I would spend all my time at it instead of what I should be doing.

Erika Leigh - I agree with Ammi. Just get on that Gazelle and who cares what you look like? You are making positive steps to change your health and appearance. Somebody on this board (maybe it was Catherine??) once talked about being embarrassed to go swimming but then realized no one ever really died of embarrassment but they do die from obesity. You can do it!

Sandy - Sounds like you have a great relationship with your kids and one that is starting to get better with your son. That is good. My own family is a bit dysfunctional and not super close, although we do love each other. I've always wondered what it would be like to be more close. I just don't think we are made that way though. Anyway, it's nice to know there are families like that though.

Ammi - My 7 pounds is since the day after Christmas since that is technically when I restarted. So I guess that's been about a month. I've really been committed this time. I struggled a bit last week and even skipped by WW meeting. But I didn't beat myself up and now I am back on track. And from my scale at home it looks like I didn't really do much damage during my struggle. I hope to still pull out a loss when I weigh in on Wed. I am very focused on meeting my goal of 75 pounds by year end. I even have some benchmarks throughout the year to let me know I am on track. One of them is to lose 10 by Valentine's Day. It's looking like I should be able to do that. Hey, I love the sound of you planning your 100 pound reward!!! You have really worked hard since you recommitted last year and I feel like a lucky person to have been here "watching" you succeed. I am so happy for you!

Laura - Hi there. I don't think I've "met" you yet. Look foward to getting to know you better.

Annie - on that AWESOME loss! I am glad you are rewarding yourself with your new jammies. You are now just that much closer to your final goal. You can do this!!!!

OK, off to have some lunch and get started on my long to-do list for the weekend! Take care, everyone.

Sandy-Don’t worry about that 6 pound gain. I still don’t know how much I gained on our anniversary trip, because I was so close to the upper end of our scale that any gain leads to the big “E” for error message. Every morning when I get that E, I want to kick that stupid scale. I’ve been trying so hard that I want to do that scale some serious damage. Maybe you could sign your daughter up for a summer basketball clinic. Colleges and larger High Schools hold them during the summer to keep the kids in shape and teach them some stuff. Tell her she can take the summer off, but has to stay in playing shape just like the pros do during their off season. My downward spiral started when I took off seasons because of injuries. That weight gain never seemed to go away if you know what I mean.

Ammi-It’s only a matter of time until you hit that 100. I think you should also make a trip to Victoria’s Secret. That’s what I’m going to do when I hit 300. When I told himself that he said “Go get on the bicycle.”

Laura-Wow I’m impressed that you are able to have your mother live under the same roof. If my mom moved in, I’d sign up for the foreign legion. I think one of the reasons I haven’t finished my book yet, is that the chapter on her in it might be better left until after she passes on to save me from being sued.

Annie-I still full of piss and vinegar. I’m sitting here listening to WOW 2007. An anniversary present from my better half. I had to sing last night at an ecumenical service for the International Week of Prayer. Had a great lecture from a missionary who does AIDS work in South Africa. It just makes my blood boil when I see people starving and here I am with enough calories stored to survive a nuclear winter. Hey, I just realized that I’m famine resistant. If the apocalypse comes, I’d probably outlast everyone in the neighborhood, or they just throw me in a stew pot. How’s that for a positive mental attitude. My husband says I’m being too sassy and had better tone it down, or you gals won’t let me play with you anymore. Anyway, I talked the choir director into letting me do Matthew West’s song “Only Grace” for our Lenten reconciliation service. I’m going to shake some little old ladies up. Congrats on the big loss. You Go Girl!

Xena - Calculus, Yuk. I took that my senior year of high school, and the teachers went on strike, so they brought in a retired navy nuclear scientist to teach the class. By the time the regular teacher got back, I was lost, and math was always my subject. In college I wimped out and only took the calculus for business majors. Now Trig, that was my subject. I could visualize it. As for taxes, I get to file both US and Canadian taxes this year. I don’t even know when the filing deadline is here. I had to apply for a temporary tax number because my immigration is still in limbo. I’m legal enough to file taxes, but nothing else. He still refers to me as his illegal alien mail order bride.

Now for some big news, my husband is going to be invested in the Order of Canada. The official announcement is going to be this week. He’s the first person with his disability to ever receive it. To be honest, being an American, I had no idea what the heck that meant. It is the highest civilian award the government of Canada awards, equivalent to the Presidential Medal of Freedom, or Order of the British Empire. I have to clean house this weekend so that the reporters can tromp their muddy feet through my living room next week. The coolest part aside from the all expense paid trip to Ottawa for the investiture in May or June, is that members of the Order are who swear in new citizens in Canada, so if they ever decide that I’m not a terrorist, and let me become a Canadian Citizen, he’ll get to do the ceremony. He’s so excited that his hair is literally standing on end. I’m going to have to cut it today so that he won’t have that “mad scientist” look when his picture is in the paper. He’s out having coffee with the guys right now. And I thought Canada was going to be boring.

Default Annie Annie Annie Super Annie

My dear sweet melting Annie ! I am soooooooooo Happy for you sister. That is the best news I've had in along time . It feels as special as if I did it too. I am so inspirered by you girl . Now I want to go weigh too. But I will be patient.

About the oatmeal, I also eat oatmeal at least 4 times a week. I have been doing this for awhile. It helps me out tons . I dont eat it the old fashion way ( sugar, milk) I add a little extra salt a pad of butter and some cheddar cheese. That way I get protien with my carbs. It makes it last longer. A dietician told me that you need a protine with a complex carb to strech out the hungries. It works for me and if it sounds gross, pretend its potatoes. I love them like that.
KEEP ON MOVING GIRL. YOU ARE MY SHINNING STAR. I have my eye on you to see what I need to do too . By the way I love DR.Oz I want his book too. Maybe today I'll go get it.

OK, all you block walking, swimming, tred milling,Gazell pumping, sit up, dancing, cake passers, striping, movers and shakers..... .THANK YOU FOR THE MOTIVATION . I am going to price check a tred mill today. I am so happy for all of you. What a super choice you each have made to love your selves. I'm trying. still OP for 3 weeks now, but Im not weighing in yet. Soon. I have hope now thanks to you all .

Catherine, Thanks so much for the tip on basketball clinics. I've acutally already spoken to the high school coach and will get the paper work for the high school "basketball camp" as soon as they come out.
Depending on the cost, she may get to attend the Purdue basketball camp. (we live in the same town as Purdue University, home of the BOILERMAKERS!) We love our Purdue woman's basketball program.
And, yes, I was afraid she'd put on weight too if she didn't play softball. But, she can still go to day camp, and they keep her plenty busy bowling, hiking, swimming etc. If basketball is her thing, then that's just the way it is. And happily, so far, politics in basketball is very little compared to soft ball. What's sad is she's 8 and understood and saw the politics for herself.
Anyway, thanks too for your comment about the blasted 6 pounds. I was a good girl and changed my ticker. I'm back op today, made a plan for tomorrow etc. I have to just make a menu plan or I can't stay focused.
Thanks again for your kind words. You are an inspiration and very, very knowledgeable.

Erika, I had my Gazelle in the living room for 2 months and didn't touch it. I am finally starting to use it.

Sandy, you know it took a while for my son to realize his dad is a jerk. My husband now, him and my son get along great! They are so much a like. My son is 25 and fixing to get married and having a baby. Your daughter lives in Ok City I see. Me and my son were born there. We all live in Ar now. I wish you great success at staying op. Congrats on the 6lbs gone!

Catherine, I agree with Ammi, I love the tips you are posting. Gives me hope and reinforcement. Thank you. Congratulations to your husband. I know you both must be so excited!

Annie, 9.4 lbs..... congratulations!!!!!!!!! That is just so awesome!

Misti, that is good news. I will continue lifting her and her family up in my prayers.

I went shopping today. Got a bunch of christmas decorations for 75% off.
I am almost done with the laundry. We are going over to visit son tonight.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend so far!

Girls --- thanks for all the motivation.

I think that I am fixing to go home and bust it for at least 20 minutes (not sure how many minutes I can take at a time) and then sleep some.

I'm doing fine as far as myself goes. Just wanted to check in. I'll be back and talk to you girls tonight.

Oh -- WE should be signing up for the gym thing on Tuesday. Gotta check and be sure!

Thanks for all the support.

Ammi -- you do glow!! I wanna glow!!

Patti, How cool to get the WII
I want one too, but I know we can't afford it. I hope you have a blast with it. Did you get the baseball game with it??? That's the one I want.
Erika, Way to go on being determined to exercise last night. It helps me to get my rump on the gazelle. Hope Amanda is doing well.
Mechelle, So you'll be state side next week. It's weird, but I'll worry about you less when you're back in civilization. It takes a special kind of person to live up there where you are.......and I AM NOT THAT SPECIAL!!
Charlene, So, where do all these jerk guys come from??? Why can't we figure it out before we waste so much time on them? And, why can't we ship them all into outer space or an island somewhere by themselves so they don't hurt any one else but their stupid selves??? This would be me if they were all shipped away, far, far away.
Have a wonderful time being a grandma. There's nothing else like it. And, thanks so much for your cnograts on the 6 pounds gone. I had literally forgotten I'd lost 6 pounds since the beginning. I was mad I'd gained 6 this last time, but thanks to you, I remember I'm 6 pounds less than originally. I need to be and not :
Hi Kymberly, Thanks for all your positive thoughts on every post. Sometimes it's easy to get in a rut and really down. But with posts like yours and many others, y'all help keep me focused.
Sharon, How are ya? I love your pics on the pic page. I hadn't checked them out in a long time. I especially love the ones of you and Ammi. The two of you were so lucky to meet in real life. I tell Ammi all the time I wished we lived closer.
Annie, I hope you are doing well today.
Well everyone, I'm op for for now and the day is half over. DInner is in the crock pot and will be done after Abby's game this afternoon. I'd have to work hard to BLOW being op today.
I gotta go log onto fitday.com and other odds and ends.
Guess what! THAT GOD AWFUL LAUNDRY IS DONE! :WOOHOO:
I wish I could afford to have someone do my laundry. Just the laundry. I even love the rest of house cleaning, but man, do I hate laundry.
Before I head out again, I wondered if anyone ever tried or heard about "Weight loss for idiots" or something like that. They talk about changing how and what you eat to speed up your metabolism. They say you can lose 9 pounds in 11 days, take 3 days off and then start over. I don't want to pay for something that isn't real.
Ttfn, :-)
