I hope everyone is off having a wonderful weekend. We went to a Christmas party last night and Alex had so much fun running around with the other kids he completely wore himself out. He slept until 10 today! I couldn't believe it. I was thankful tho!
We need to get some shopping done for DH's niece and nephews, but he's not moving. I'm not reminding him either!
I tried to post yesterday, but DH kicked me off so he could work on fixing the PC...which is fixed, I Think! I'll try to pop back later, just wanted to say G'Mornin'!
Hello all. Well this week is finals. I have infact made it. I have a presentation tonight, and two papers due Wednesday, and an exam on Wednesday as well. (One of the papers isnt actually due til next Monday, but I would like to get it done, and over with)
I have a good start on both of them (1 page), I have them both on a memory stick so during my break at school I can work on either one of them. Most likely it will be the one that is actually due on Wed. :freak:
I have not been doing well on my eating, of course I say that everytime around exams. I want to make good decisions, now I just need to actually do it.
Well, I have to get ready for my classes - talk at ya'll later.
Morming all! Well I decided that since I use my scale here more than the one at the dr office that I will stick with those numbers. Also I weigh in in the am before eating and after pottying and at my appt it was at probably 4:15 or so when I got weighed and that is the reason for the big difference. I feel better now. lol Whatever it takes right? I stressed all weekend about that though. I am trying to get back on track now.
Lisa good luck on those exams! You are so busy! I can't do that. I need my down time!!
Well my art project is done and turned in. I have a paper, presentation, and take home final to turn in tonight. I cant wait to get it done and over with. I have 3 pages done for the one paper (4 -6 pgs) that is due on Wednesday. I have full confidence that I can get it done. Then I can worry about the one that is supposed to be 10 -12 pages.
Other than that, today I had oatmeal and hot chocolate for breakfast. A 6" tuna sub w/ provolone cheese, light letuce, pickles, tomato and light mayo. and had it toasted. It tasted really good, like a tuna melt. I normally have turkey, but was getting sick of that particular sandwich - since it is my "normal" and I am there 1 -2 times a week. for now I think I have a new normal. lol
Well, I have to be going over to the other side of campus now. Talk at ya'll later.
Just checking in. I don't have a scale so I can't weigh myself. But I can almost guarantee that I have gained weight since being in Iowa. It's really hard living with my parents. Just the types of foods he has in the house. I hate to put him out and ask him to buy veggies and something special for me so I am just trying to eat in moderation and hope that we get jobs soon and get our own place. I'm just so frustrated. I hope all is well with everyone. I am off to job search some more.
I had to live with my family for 9 months last year, as I went through a divorce. I completely relate to your situation. I had to buy all of my own food and keep it in a separate refrigerator as my mom is real picky when it comes to that kind of thing. If my food got near hers and my dad's, she had a fit!! It was very difficult. Stick with what you're doing now and don't let the stress get to you!
Annie, I moved back to my parents house over two years ago because of seperation that led to divorce. I understand it is hard. I finally had to tell my mom not to buy that stuff. I don't need it. (Sad thing is I am still here, and she still buys it.)
Lauren light lettuce is half the amount of lettuce. I don't like it when the put so much on that over half falls on the plate, table, floor, etc. I guess I eat there alot to know the terms.
You did the same thing I did when I got separated. I tell you, it was the longest 9 months of my life and my mom made my life so miserable. I love her dearly, but would never live with them again!!
Does anyone use spray-on butter? It's so much less fattening than margarine and butter and it tastes just as good to me!!
I was doing so well this past week or so with not being nauseous that I got a little too daring yesterday. I had leftovers of whole wheat pasta with sundried tomatoes and garlic. Lots of garlic. It doesn't reheat well by itself, so I added some leftover sauce I had in the freezer. Oh my goodness. I wasn't worth anything after lunch! Ugh. It will be a long time before I can look at that dish again! :shudder: Hopefully as long as I'm good and don't overdo the garlic the rest of this pregnancy will be smooth!
to all of the newbies. It's so great to have you here! Jump right on in, don't be shy. We don't bite (well, unless you are made of chocolate. All bets are off then!).
LisaM: I use the spray butter all the time on veggies. I'm not crazy about it on toast or baked potatoes.
I have to say I don't mind living here right now because I haven't seen them in so long, but I just want to get out as soon as I can. I am sure they would like to have some privacy. Fortunately, food isn't an issue. My dad keeps telling me to eat and fix whatever we want, but I just would rather get a job and start buying our own food. I feel like such a mooch.
Not really sure how the weight thing is going right now. I have no way to weigh myself. But on the bright side there's a women's gym in town now so I'll have a place to go once I get a job. I am so excited about that. Maybe I'll be able to go when my mom and aunt go then I won't be doing it alone.
Nothing else going on here. Just pretty bored and tired of looking for work. It's always so much easier to find a new job when you are already working. I just don't want to go back to a convenience store. I want to do something else. Office work or a bank teller would be great. I have the experience. Just seems like most jobs are 21 miles away and we can't do that until we get a car. I hope all is well.
I haven't tried the spray butter, but have heard good things about it. I am hoping to get some to try soon.
Annie - I know how hard it is to look for a job. That's why I stayed with my parents so long last year. My ex left me with a ton of debt and my job wasn't paying the bills at all. I couldn't afford to rent a place on my own. I looked for a job for about 10 months. It was very tiring! Thankfully I used a job placement agency and that did the trick for me. I also had joined a gym about 10 minutes from where my parents lived (had to quit it when I moved), which was a lifesaver for me. I would go there to de-stress after work and dealing with divorce stuff. It worked wonders for me. Good luck with the job and gym search! It takes time, but when you find the right job, it's worth the wait!!
Karen - yeah, I guess the butter is not that great on toast, but we spray tons of it and it works pretty well. I also used to use Molly McButter (there are a variety of flavors out there). That adds a bit of flavor to foods, without the fat!!
I just have to say, I love this website. It's been very helpful to me to have support through this process. It helps to share my experiences with everyone!!
Annie, I meant to ask you, how did it go with DH and your family meeting for the first time?? And how is DH adjusting?
Karen, yeah, you better stay away from the garlic...poor thing!
Lisa, Glad you're having a good experience here!
I'm miserable right now. Started with a scratchy throat Monday, started taking my Zyrtec again Monday night, Tuesday the throat felt better, but my head felt like a pile of sand. Today my head's alright and I'm back to a scratchy throat. I'm taking the Zyrtec 2x a day and living on soup and tea.
Where's everyone this week?? Rabbit, are you back from your sister's?! You're not making fudge, are you?!
