Default Week of October 9th!

Happy Sunday All! I don't know what it's like by you, but it's been miserable all weekend here....pouring rain and flooding all around yesterday.

I finally got a new scale last night! It's a Tanita Jenny Craig one. I'm not doing JC, but I like the scale...here's a link to it: Scale

I'm having a little trouble getting things set up, but that's probably because I'm not good about taking the time to read instructions!

Wow.. That's one impressive scale. I just checked it out. I didn't see a price for it but it is was darn amazing. I love all the features that it has to it. I also like the fact that it tracks your progress. Sounds like when I get back to working, I am going to have to look at getting me one of those. Should I dare ask how much it costs? I definitely need a scale that is easier to read. A Digital one was what I really wanted, but I was a cheapskate and didn't want to fork out the money for it. Now I am kicking myself in the butt for not doing it. Well, I haven't made it on the scale yet. Kinda dreading it. But I am going to do in shortly. Ok.. I'll go do it right now and tell ya the results.

I am in utter shock. I lost 1 pound. Doing the happy dance over here.
I have been sitting at 213 for a couple months. It's only a pound but dang it feels so good.

I hope everyone is enjoying their weekends. It's cold and rainy here too LBH.
Yuck. Atleast if it was going to be cooler, the rain could stay away. I wanted to get out for a walk with my daughter. But I hate to take her out only to get her sick. It's not worth it. I have to find something else to do. Going to have to get the stepper warming up and use it.

Well, I think I am going to go and get a snack. Either fruit or some yogurt. I bought some Yoplait Chocolate Mousse Whipped Yogurt. I haven't had it yet but I hope it cures a chocolate fix.

ok.. I'm outta here.

We have a new SuperTarget right down the street and I am thrilled!!! With all the "new residents" here--the road to the other was a 45minute 6 mile drive...
Off to the Grand Opening!!!!

I am so jealous RR. I wish there was just a regular Target here. I can only imagine what a Super Target is like. That's what I miss about Iowa. Being able to shop at Target and Kmart. The only place I have here in Vermont is Walmart. I could travel to get to a Kmart or a bigger Walmart but they aren't the same as a good ole Target. I wanna a Target. Ok.. enough. Hope you have a great trip.

I weigh in tomorrow at TOPS, but I'm expecting it to be good. It feels like I've been in control all week ... no 'runaway meals'.

I'm going up to my mom's house today. I've been out-and-about all weekend, visiting with friends, and I was planning to spend today replacing a computer desk and reorganizing some shelves. Mom's is good, though ... we'll go for a walk or bike ride and have some fish and steamed vegetables for dinner (I already asked her if we could have a healthy lunch).

I live in Minnesota, which is where Target's headquarters are based, so we have them on just about every corner. It's a good store - the past five or so years they put quite a bit of effort into establishing a more upscale image, to differentiate themselves from K-Mart and Wal*Mart (hence the Izaac Mizrahi line, etc.). SuperTarget is pretty cool, too.

It's getting ccchhhiillllyyy here! bbrrrrr, only 50ºF.

Phan, Good luck at WI!!
I have a Target nearby me, but it stinks, they have about 3 racks of plus size and it's all horrible! There's a Target near where I used to live/work that's newer and much nicer. We don't have any Super Targets or Wal-Mart Supercenters around here...or in the state for that matter!

Annie, Congrats on the loss!!
I meant to mention the price, forgot! It was $69.99. More than I wanted to pay, but honestly, I was looking at the WW one and after stepping on it, I decided it felt like it would break in a week! It was only $10 less. I would've preferred the WW one, because it measures in .1 increments, but I decided that the JC one was better quality and I could sacrifice for .2!

Have a great day all!

Hello Everyone,

Yep, Lauren is right. It's been a yucky awful weekend. We were supposed to go to a huge kids festival thingee, but it was cancelled. And we didn't find out until we got there. I checked the website and called the hotline number before we left. Grrrr! (Lauren, it was at PNC Bank Art Center on the Parkway). So, we ended up visiting the NJ Naval Museum. We got to tour a submarine. It was pretty cool. Alex enjoyed jumping in the huge puddles! He was so wet I had to change his clothes when we left.

Annie: Cool on the 1 pd loss.

RR: Have fun at Tarjay!

Lauren: Cool scale. I wish I had gotten a different one. I have one of those mini-doctors office ones. It has to live in the basement bathroom 'cause I don't have room for it anymore.

Oh, I lost two more pounds! YIPPPEEE!

::Phanta:: Good luck on the weigh in tomorrow. Let us know what happens.

::Karen:: Congrats on the 2 pd loss. :: You go girl.

::chaarli::Welcome to the group. Good to have you. You're going to love it here. This is a great bunch of ladies. You'll definitely get lots of support and encouragement.

Well, trying to figure out what to eat for dinner. I hate having to figure it out. I am going to have to start planning out each week what we are going to have. It might make it easier on me. I think a Taco Salad sounds good to me. Oh well, guess I should go exercise for the day.

Talking Thanks for the welcome

Thanks so much for the welcome.
I find that the support of groups like this is so instrumental to my success.
I'm restarting my life today and it's great to have friends to do it with.
I'm in New Zealand so I'm on a completely different time line to you all. But I do check in everyday if at all possible.

Annie, I find it crucial to my success to pre-plan meals ... or at least to have an idea of something quick and easy to make so I don't find myself in the position of being hungry and having nothing planned. That's when I tend to say "Burger King will be just fine". Eeek!

Welcome, Chaarli!

Hi All,

Phan, That's one of my downfalls, not planning meals. I'm horrible about it.

Chaarli, WELCOME! Glad to have you with us! Congrats on your new start!

Annie, You're doing better than me...I had a couple bowls of Kix for dinner!

Karen, Congrats on the loss!! You're doing really well on SBD! Sounds like a fun day. Funny...I never refer to PNC as PNC...It's "the arts center" to me...kinda like "down the shore"! Oh yeah, and "the meadowlands", not Byrne Arena, or Continental Airlines Arena.

Hello all!

I didn't get the chance to check in yesterday. I agree with everyone, this weather has been terrible in Pa also. I'm ready too enjoy some pretty fall days. How was everyone's weekend? Good I hope. I worked all weekend. Mostly out in this rain. Yuck!

Stayce to answer your question on how I've lost weight...well the best way to do it is by good old fashioned calorie/fat counting and exercise. I wish there was a magic pill I could tell you did it, because I'd be a rich girl right now! In high school at 14 years old, I was at my highest weight
(320 lbs). As a teenager, I fell into the trap of eating disorders and lost a large amount that way. I've been up and down since then, so it's not like I just lost that weight. Anyway, I use that knowledge now to help others like me. I carry this horrible picture with me when I was at my highest weight. And I also frequently look at pictures when I was at my lowest (210 lbs). I use those pictures to help me keep on track.

Annie the Whipped Yoplait Yougurt are awesome! I've been hooked ever since they first started making them. I use that as my chocolate treat for only 160 calories! I like the Key Lime one too.

Have a happy day everyone!

Good Morning!!!Welcome CHaarli!!
WEll..in my surroundinngs(within a 12 mile radius) we have 2--Super Targets , 1 Big K and 6-Super Walmarts...and they are all full now!! This Target is really upscale and decorated very nicely..I am glad I skipped breakfst and lunch since they had the "sample rows" out in force..I swear, on the weekends, we dont have to eat lunch after just going to Sam's!!!DH is leaving us today to go to Tx for a few so I am husbandless for a few (OK..Karen..I know U are not feeling sorry for me!! )
Ok..I did a sneak WI and I am exactly the same as before for the last 3 weeks..Oh well..better than being heavier I guess..I have to excercise more I think..It is easier, now that it is cool in the 70's-80's rather than the 100's!!!People even wore jackets when the "cold front" put us at 75!!!
Ok..off to work!!!
