Ok....so it's been quite a while since I have been active on here. There is so much going on and my stress level is through the roof. It looks like my step son may be coming to live with us (he's 5) and I finally got started back on my bipolar medication. Only drawback is that it causes weight gain. I am not sure what is going on with the scale but I'll take the loss any day!!

I've been up here in Nova Scotia for over 30 days now and finally settled in to one place for the next few months. I bought a scale a week ago. Before that I was measuring my waistline. I'm certain that during the first 2 weeks I lost weight because I wasn't eating much and I could see it through the torso, however I've since gained some back. My waist was at 28" and I haven't been able to break 29" since a weekend pig-out. I noticed I eat more junk on the weekends now that I work 9-5, and my eating habits flip flop from good to bad. I'm often tempted by discounts on cookies and things. I still haven't figured out a good eating/shopping system. I think my problem is that I'm at the grocery stores too often because I can just walk to them. Most of my exercise has come from walking everywhere. It takes 30 min to walk to work. I walk places during lunch because I find the building too cold and I can't wait to get out of there. Then I walk and tote objects from the stores, sometimes heavy things that are awkward to carry. It took an hour to walk to Walmart. I'm always walking, and half the time I have a pain in my lower back on the left side, but only in the mornings (I think). I used to have this problem in college as well. Anyways, I'm still hoping to reach my goal while I'm up here, but I would be content hovering around 140 this month. I'm glad I've been able to lose and maintain despite having moved to a new country alone and without a scale to check in on. And Happy Mother's Day to all the mom's weighing in.

Total May Weight Lost: -2 lb since I last weighed

I saw a 139 on the scale for the first time so yay, averaging 10 lbs to goal and 5 lbs overweight. And to think I once weighed 240 back in 2011, so I've lost 100 lbs. I still feel like I look thick. I guess some of that is from the toning and the rest is probably from having a skewed perception of myself. Still, I like seeing the muscle tone and a more defined waist.

I know there is only 3 days left in May but I'm restarting my weight loss today and I don't want to wait until June to start weighing daily. Ever since my cruise vacation in December, I've had really bad eating habits. I'll watch what I eat for a few days here and there but not for very long. Before I know it, I'm back eating like a pig. Two years ago, I worked hard and lost 30 lbs over 18 months. I then hit a plateau and maintained for a while. This year I've gained it all back and more in just a few short months. My clothes are very uncomfortable, some don't even fit anymore, and I don't feel good about myself. Last week, I ran into my cousin who I haven't seen in over a year and I was so embarrassed that I wanted to hide.

Right now, I would just be happy if I could get back into onderland. In order to lose this weight, I'm going to do what worked before - count calories - 1300 a day - and 30 minutes of cardio a day. There is one thing I'm doing differently this time and that's counting macros. I want to make sure I'm not eating too many carbs and that I'm getting enough protein. I already created my menu plan for tomorrow and I'm planning on getting up early to get in my workout - no excuses. I hope I can stick to this plan for longer than just a few days this time.

I'm very happy with my loss for the month. I actually wasn't expecting to lose anything in 3 days but losing almost 4 lbs is amazing. Hopefully it sticks and I can lose even more in June.
