yesterday was a rest day from my workouts...instead i ran errands all day, grocery shopped etc and went to a bday party...i ate a reasonable amount at the party but it was still more than i'm used to and i felt miserable all evening :(

today i got up and went to a charity walk...it raised funds to benefit the family of a teenage girl killed in a jet ski collision last summer on the lake here...i couldnt decide between the one mile walk or the 5K walk...it was SO FREAKING COLD!!! omg lol....i decided to only do the mile walk for two reasons 1) COLD OMG! and 2) my friend only could do a mile and no one else came with her so i didnt want to abandon her

alaskanlaughter 10-10-2012 03:20 PM

hello!! where is everybody?? :(:(

i cant be the ONLY one exercising....right??? ;);)

Chubbygirl253 10-12-2012 09:22 PM

I'm back to my workouts after being sick!

10/11: 35 mins strength training, 30 mins cross trainer, 1 hr elliptical, 55 mins yoga 101 (3 hrs)
10/12: 45 mins strength training, 1 hr elliptical, 45 mins yoga 100 (2.5 hrs)

alaskanlaughter 10-12-2012 11:04 PM

i finished 5 days of HIIT on the treadmill again...TOM is almost over and the scale is heading down...saw 185.4 today which is a new low for me :) hope it stays around

i upped the HIIT intervals mid-week because i realized what i was doing, was no longer making me sore etc later, that my body had adjusted to that intensity...so i bumped it up a little mid-week...im hoping that teh scale is going down because of the HIIT work...supposed to burn fat n all that

continuing to watch my calories, take multi vitamins and my vitamin D

Thistleberry 10-13-2012 12:35 AM

Sorry, Alaskanlaughter! Didn't mean to abandon you. Congratulations on your new low! That's always so exciting. I'm glad the HIIT is working so well, whether it is the cause of the new low or not.

Chubbygirl, glad you're feeling better. :) Your workouts always amaze me.

I've been here and there and all over the place. I've been doing a lot of jogging, walking, intervals, biking, and such. Haven't lifted since the 8th since I've been trying to exercise outdoors as much as possible while I still can. I'm crazy enjoying running lately so I figure why not focus on that a bit more? Tomorrow is supposed to be stormy and blustery so I'll be back to my weights.

I've been tossing around the idea of not renewing my membership to the studio where I was taking the Les Mills classes until spring. I think I might be better served going to the local Snap Fitness so I can continue my sudden love affair with running through the winter. The cost of the memberships are comparable but it would save me money in that I wouldn't have to spend as much on gas and would certainly save me in time. I feel kind of guilty about it though, as though I'm betraying the studio.

Chubbygirl253 10-14-2012 12:47 AM

hi gals! I'm super happy cuz I lost 2 more pounds. And as of today I am 25% of the way toward my goal of losing 180 pounds. Yay! Oh, and I joined a challenge at the Y where they divide us into teams and they track how many minutes each participant works out at the Y. And they'll highlight a different fitness class each week and if a participant takes that class they get to count their fitness minutes as double that week. My team is soooo gonna win!

My workout today 10/13:
45 mins strength training
45 mins elliptical with arms
25 mins recumbent cross trainer w/ chest presses
5 mins stair stepper machine

(2 hours total, 4.5 miles done)

Thistleberry 10-16-2012 09:30 AM

Your team is so going to win, Chubbygirl! They're lucky they have you. How many weeks does the challenge last?

Was whiny and complainy and generally did not want to work out on Sunday but I did anyway. I did not up my weights at all but I unwittingly did more sets than I had the previous time. So yay!
I jogged 3 miles straight last night and walked 1. The route is so lovely. Makes me happy. :)
Tonight is NROLFW again and I'll face the bodyweight matrix. I skimped on it last time I did this workout so I'm determined to conquer it. (And then I get to make some crab and cream cheese wontons which I'm super excited about it.)

I'm getting really, really, REALLY sick of the scale not moving but once a month. Deep into that third week of seeing the same number on the scale, I start to think it'll never move again. Knowing this trend keeps me from pulling my hair out, but I'd be a liar if I didn't say I'm starting to feel discouraged. Next week can't come fast enough for me!

ChickieBoom 10-16-2012 10:28 AM

I need to get back on my exercise routine. I had been doing so good and then I petered out. I'm going to exercise when I get home from work tonight and commit to working out like I was before.

alaskanlaughter 10-16-2012 11:32 PM

two days of HIIT on the treadmill so far this week...two workdays...i sure had to schedule my day accordingly in order to fit it in too LOL...i had an hour gap between work and training this morning, then another 2 hour-ish gap between end of training and work again and i used that time to get my HIIT in for the day...and i definitely had to leave the trainign right when they said it'd be over, no hanging around asking more questions, no chitchat with the coworkers, just "gotta go!" and out the door because i refused to be late for my gym time lol

DH says i'm addicted lol

definitely feeling it in my upper legs tonight too

Chubbygirl253 10-17-2012 01:36 AM

thistleberry- the fitness challenge goes thru the end of the year. we're off to a great start!

today I worked out for 4.75 hours and burned 3408 calories according to fitness pal.
45 mins elliptical, 3.5 miles
45 mins strength training
45 mins cross trainer machine, 6 miles
24 mins c25k (10 mins jogging, 14 walking) 1.75 miles
5 mins stair machine, .25 mile
12 mins rowing, 1 mile
55 mins RIPPED class
55 mins yoga 102

Thistleberry 10-17-2012 10:37 AM

The wontons were a huge disappointment. :(

My workout wasn't though. :) I did conquer the bodyweight matrix like I wanted. I've been averaging about 2:10 seconds each time I do it but the first time I tried last night and I came in at 2:20. Clearly I needed to push myself for the second. At this point I was so tired and so ready to quit but I told myself all I had to do was get through the next 2 minutes and psyched myself up to do it. I managed 1:52! I was shaking like a leaf as I did my stetching after but I was so delighted I didn't even notice until someone pointed it out to me. I felt tired and fabulous.

Today I feel sore and slighty less fabulous (the scale, she is cruel). Tonight I plan to run. As seems to be my luck, there's rain in the forecast. If it's warm enough I'm going anyway.

Chubbygirl253 10-18-2012 01:38 AM

I feel good because I took it a little easier today. Worked out for 3.75 hours. Letting my body recover from yesterday's punishing workout. Tuesdays are my hardest day of the week.

today:
strength training 45 mins
elliptical w/arms 60 mins
cross trainer 60 mins
yoga level 102 55 mins
stair machine 5 mins

Chubbygirl253 10-18-2012 01:38 AM

yay! thistleberry!!! awesome job!

alaskanlaughter 10-18-2012 02:17 AM

another day of HIIT on the treadmill...weight is going down...saw 184.6 on the scale today, another low, hope it sticks around :) went to a friend's house for dinner and managed to NOT eat a ton of food lol...in fact my calories are very low still for the day...if i wasnt exhausted i might make something to eat before bed but i'm exhausted and i purposely dont keep munchies around here lol

Chubbygirl253 10-19-2012 01:19 AM

had a HARD workout. burned 4070 calories. I'm tired but I feel good.
60 mins elliptical
50 mins RIPPED class
45 mins cross trainer
40 mins yoga level 101
25 mins c25k (12 jogging, 13 walking)
20 mins stationary bike
12 mins rowing machine
8 mins stair machine
=4 hours and 20 mins

RIPPED is kicking my tail! Man, that class is hard.

Thistleberry 10-19-2012 09:15 AM

Chickieboom, what do you plan to do for exercise? Did you start that night as you had hoped?

You're going to be in the 70s in no time, Alaskanlaughter!

Chubbygirl, you always make me feel like such a slacker. I am so, so impressed you've managed to keep it up. Nothing is stopping you! :cheer:

There was a nice two hour-ish window of no rain on Wednesday so I ran three miles. I want to mix it up a bit and do intervals and such but I'm having a hard time convincing myself to do it. I'm just enjoying the steady state so much!

Had a good lifting session last night. Managed to hold prone cobra twice for 2 and a half minutes each! When I started 30 seconds was tough. And I've moved down to doing all four sets of push-ups on the 1st stair step. I'll be on the floor doing real ones soon. Hoowoo!

I realize the scale itself has nothing to do with it (don't shoot the messenger!) but, whatever, I'm saying it anyway, my scale is still being uneccessarily cruel. I'm hoping that I'm holding on to a fair bit of water weight and that it will all whoosh out next week when I have my period.

Chubbygirl253 10-19-2012 07:50 PM

thanks, thistleberry. but your workouts sound intense too. jogging is still so hard for me. today was an easier workout, I needed a bit of a break after yesterday. So I worked out for 3 hours and burned 2253 calories.
45 mins yoga
60 mins elliptical w/arms
30 min cross trainer
45 mins water aerobics

yes, chickieboom, update us! are you back on the exercise wagon? you can do it!

alaskanlaughter 10-19-2012 11:46 PM

i finished out my week with another HIIT on the treadmill...5 days in a row again although a muscle in my top leg is bothering me...im also a little congested in my chest but ALOT of ppl are sick and for me to only be very mildlyyy sick is HUGE for me....i always crash hard sick with bronchitis or pneumonia around this time of year....i somewhat credit the weight loss and exercise

also celebrated ONE YEAR at my gym today!! one whole year of going there 5 days a week, without fail, and working out...running...every single gym trip involved running of some sort

i think when i started i was about 211 although i'm too tired to look up my records...and right now i'm at 185...so going to the gym has helped me lost about 26 pounds over the year....which is also HUGE because my weight goes down sooooooooooo slowly lol

faunaflora 10-21-2012 05:21 PM

Sorry for bailing for awhile! I got a horrible cold and then went on a trip so I had a 2 week exercise hiatus :-/

After I came back from my trip I jumped back on the exercise wagon, though I've dropped weight lifting for now. My work is intense right now, so I'm kind of doing the minimum (cardio 3x/week). I definitely love it though!

Alaskanlaughter - Congrats on one year!!!! Way to go!!!!
Chubbygirl253 - Holy cow, 3 hrs, that's amazing!!!!
Thistleberry - I hear you on the water weight thing. I hate what my period does to my mood and my body.

Wolfshadow 10-21-2012 11:54 PM

It's been a loooong time... How have you been?

(/Portal 2 Reference)

So yah. I'm doing well. (Though I've been lazy this past week and didn't do nearly as much as I had hoped).. Staying on my diet for the most part. Allowing myself around 1 or 2 cheat days a month, sometimes more, starting to incorperate a bit of fruit for the higher carb count considering I need them with how much I'm working out.

Car's still dying, had the codes pulled, Cylinder 3 misfire. We're taking it to the shop Tuesday hoping a simple change of the spark plugs will fix it, but knowing my luck, not. However, necessity has been the mother of working out and getting around at the same time.

I have fully restored my 1993 Huffy Echo Canyon and even gotten a bike basket on the front now... and she is my new main source of transportation until the snow flies. My mom is very cheesed off at me for this. lol... She hates the fact that I bike downtown to my classes in a rather dicey neighborhood rather than drive. That's 10 miles (just over that actually) every other day for a week.. Plus I'm still doing water aerobics and swimming at the Y when I can, and I'm going to be starting boxing tomorrow hopefully. :3

I'm able to fit back into my old size 20 jeans from when I lost a ton of weight on just Atkins (WITHOUT the working out!) for the first time in several years. Some of the pants are really tight yet, but for the most part, I can fit into them again, when before, foooorrrget it! Very happy with that!

I'm also officially out of the 290s! My new weight is 289 and going down... Hopefully if I'm good and work hard this week I'll be at 287 come Wednesday.. which means I'll have beaten the Y's '10 pound 10 week challenge' 3 weeks early!!

Of course, the instructor for that class really got on my bad side last week, giving me a hard time about my low carb diet... grr..

anyway. Yah. I bike to the flea markets to get produce, I bike to school, I want to bike to the Y, but I promised my mother I wouldn't... Our Y is on a very dark road where it's 40 MPH and the cars generally go 50+, and it gets dark very early now... so she's concerned... I promised her I'd drive to the Y. 9_9;

Anyway, yah. I hope everybody is doing well and staying warm!

Chubbygirl253 10-22-2012 12:06 AM

hi wolfshadow! good to see you back, I wondered where you went. You sound busy busy busy!

yesterday- rest day
today- worked out for 4.5 hours
11 mins rowing,1 mile
14 mins stair machine, 1 mile (oh how I hate you, stair machine!)
30 mins c25k week 4, 16 mins jogging/14 mins walking, 2 miles total
60 mins yoga 101
30 mins elliptical with arms, level 6, 2 miles
20 mins cross trainer, 2 miles
60 mins H.E.A.T. circuit training with running laps, 2.5 miles
45 mins strength training

alaskanlaughter 10-22-2012 04:07 PM

i had a very odd workout today...ive been fighting the tiniest cold or something for a few days...woke up today with my chest hurting...i know it's settled in my lungs but i'm not coughing much...anyhow got to the gym and started to warm up, felt sick to my stomach...which is weird...i had been STARVING this morning but, since i ate a lot of food this weekend, i only had two tablespoons of peanut butter...last summer that fueled a morning run just fine...today i felt like i was gonna throw up :( i promised myself to get through 5 sets of HIIT and see how i felt...by then i didnt feel like throwing up anymore...so i went a little further...few more sets of HIIT...the normal is 13 sets...struggled more and more to breathe, even with my inhaler, i could tell i wasnt getting air all the way into my lungs, deep breathing while running etc...

finally after the 9th set of HIIT my body just quit :( i just couldn't talk my body into one more set of HIIT and it's EXTREMELY rare that my body will stop before my mind will let it but it just wasn't going any farther...i walked for another 20 minutes on the treadmill and by the end of that, i was feeling nauseous again...i should have pushed out 5 more minutes of walking for 45 minutes total but again, my body was just DONE...

im not upset....im just puzzled...i made it back home and i'm just sitting here...i dont feel sick, i dont feel great...im drinking some flavored water...perhaps i got dehydrated? perhaps i shouldnt have eaten the peanut butter? perhaps i'm just more sick than i think i am?

Thistleberry 10-23-2012 09:20 PM

Congratulations on your one year gym anniversary, Alaskanlaughter! Very strange about your recent workout. I guess I would put it down to the cold and not worry about it overmuch. I tend not to push myself too much when I'm feeling generally poorly. I've had something small develop into something big too many times. Maybe you misjudged just how much a toll your cold was taking on your body? Or maybe it was just a bit of dehydration as you suggested. Were you drinking water at all during the workout?

Good to see you back, faunaflora. :) Good for you for staying active even though work is busy. That's something to be proud of even if it is just "the minimum".
Actually, my period is the only time I lose lately. It feels so odd to say, but I'm glad it's here. My scale is finally moving again.

Sorry your car is still acting up, Wolfshadow. Sounds like you're making the best of a bad situation. Do you have lights for your bike? Maybe that would help alleviate some of your mom's fears? Congratulations on your progress for the 10 week challenge. Did you make 287?

Beast of a workout day there, Chubbygirl! I don't know how you manage it all. Do you list it in the order in which you tackle it?

I've decided to cut back drastically on my lifting for this cycle. I want to cut my calories some and I don't think it would be good to do the amount and kind of lifting I do eating at that kind of deficit. I'm also curious to see if it makes much difference with my water retention and see how it effects my weight loss in general.
The last three days I've been sewing up a storm trying to finish my Halloween costume for a party this weekend. I am thrilled with the way things are coming together! And, bonus, the dress will be a nice addition to my everyday wardrobe. Anyway, yesterday I had an impromptu dance session and today I managed to break away and ran three miles, walked one. Tomorrow is supposed to be warm and dry and I hope to do the same run then.

I wasnt drinking during the workout, which is typical...I never do...On the other hand I still felt a huge pressure weight on my chest this morning and my mid-back was also hurting so I went to the doctor. They listened to my lungs...and listened some more...and came back again to listen...and finally took x-rays and ruled out fluid in my lungs. I've battled pneumonia before a few times. They diagnosed me with a severe case of bronchitis, which I also tend to get every fall. I came home with antibiotics and am taking that plus my steroid inhaler which I rarely even use.

So today I worked, spent my free time at the doctor, and worked all afternoon. I am exhausted in a weird way. Like I'm not actually TIRED, more like I'm not getting appropriate oxygen levels yet. My oxygen levels registered surprisingly good today also but I'm still feeling it. So I'm gonna rest tonight and see how I feel tomorrow.

Chubbygirl253 10-24-2012 02:33 AM

warning: post contains tmi

thistleberry- I don't list it in the order I tackle it, just list as I remember it.

yesterday I did 4.5 hours of exercise. 1 hour was a cycling class. Normally when I do cycling its on a recumbent bike which provides a bucket type of seat and sits you upright. The group cycling class uses those itsy bitsy bike seats that look pointy and are harder than all get out. Uncivilized. Within a few minutes my lower back was feeling strain from the lack of support and having to lean forward. Luckily I was in the back row and I was able to lean back and brace myself on the window sill. But this position made the pointy seat dig into my groin. Now, I should mention the instructor gave me a seat cover which added *some*cushion but did nothing for the fact it was digging into me in unfriendly places. And it may have been an inch or so thicker but not any wider. My fanny was just not meant to balance upon such a small pedestal. Apparently cyclists have butts the size of postage stamps. Good for them. So when I was finally able to disengage my rear from Thumbelina's bike seat I limped outta there like a saddle-sore cowpoke. After I got home and showered I sat upon a heating pad until I went to bed. This morning I woke up and my upper and inner thighs, groin, and *lady bits* are bruised and swollen and the word sore just doesn't begin to describe it.

Today I didn't let my soreness stop me from having a good workout. I got 5 hours in. Started with a soak in the hot tub at the Y, then some light water aerobics, more hot tub soaking, and then strength training. Then onto the harder stuff but I got through it. Perhaps the most painful part was sitting flat on my yoga mat. For once I actually preferred the yoga moves that had my rear high up in the air like downward facing dog. I really hope my hiney and thighs are better tomorrow. Sorry for the TMI but I just needed to vent a bit. :o

Chubbygirl253 10-24-2012 09:14 PM

today I had a 2.5 hr workout. 30 mins yoga level 102, 1 hr elliptical, 1 hr water aerobics

Thistleberry 10-24-2012 09:42 PM

Getting used to bike seats is no picnic, that's for sure! Hope your bum recovers quickly. In the meantime, you can stare at the picture of that gorgeous dress and it'll all feel worth it, right? I love, love, love the layers and the hemlines! And I adore a little bit of color in a wedding gown. It's more traditional than white, after all.

I ran two miles tonight, walked one. Were I not so crunched for time this evening I would have done a lot more. I was in the mood and the weather is so lovely for a change.

alaskanlaughter 10-25-2012 12:59 AM

i gave myself a rest day from teh gym today...i dont often do that but i'm still struggling with pain in my chest from the bronchitis...i rested when i wasn't working my shifts but i also had a board meeting tonight...im feeling like my energy level is increasing again but im still having a hard time with my chest...tomorrow i've promised myself to go to teh gym and just walk and see how my body handles that...im also donating blood tomorrow...if they'll take a sick girl with bronchitis lol

Thanks, I LOVE IT!!! It'll take a lot of work but it's gonna be worth it. And I know my mom was right when she said my fiance's eyeballs are gonna pop out of his head! He'll love it too. Our wedding colors are pink and gray and it's gonna really stand out in photos. Found awesome bridesmaid dresses in the same pink, one shade lighter.

alaskanlaughter 10-25-2012 02:51 PM

i felt much better this morning...the pressure in my chest is nearly/almost gone although i'm still coughing...not as much as yesterday though...the doctor called me back and said that my x-rays DID show pneumonia after all in my lungs...as much as it sucks to have had pneumonia, i like that it validated that I KNOW my body and I KNOW that chest pain like that means pneumonia each and every time...scary how fast it set it though...i was FINE on saturday and couldnt breathe on sunday and diagnosed on tuesday...eek!

seeing as how i was feeling better today and on antibiotics, therefore not contagious, i went to the gym and walked for an hour...at a good pace, on a gentle incline...with the promise to myself that if i started to feel BAD that i would stop regardless of the length of time...but i did make it an hour and did not feel bad...i felt like i do during a regular workout - sweaty, feeling it in my muscles a little, etc

now i'm gonna wash up and go to the blood drive in town...they rarely ever come here...and plan to donate some blood if they'll accept a girl who's sick :)

Wolfshadow 10-26-2012 01:28 AM

Hi ChubbyGirl! I was thinking the same thing about you, I didn't see anything from you either!! LOL.. You put my rear to shame with how much you work out!

And, second of all, I LOVE THAT DRESS. I wish I had a wedding coming up so I could look at things like that too, but sadly in my area, all the good ones are taken and anybody single is single for a reason!!!! Oye.. I would probably go for something VERY similar in blue instead! lol. (Pink and gray is such a pretty combo too!)

I hear ya on those stupid spinning bikes!!! OMG, I tried one once, and my rear was SOOOO SORE, from only 10 minutes!!! And I DO ride a bike, too! Like, 3 times a week, and on an ACTUAL BIKE (y'know, as transportation!) For 10 miles. Granted, I have a bike seat that's wider and has cushioning on it, but seriously, are they trying to punish you for using them!? I refuse to use them. Just flat out refuse. My suggestion is to invest in a real bicycle and ride it once you change out the normal seat for a nice cushioned one. Wonderful exercise and a great way to save money on gas!

I am happy to report that my car is now fixed, Thistleberry! My mom has been a god-send during all this nonsense of not having a job... it run her 500 dollars (which I will eventually pay back to her once I do have a job again) but the car is running like a dream again and best of all, she's all paid off. I used her pretty good today, went to someone's house who had advertised on CL about having a bunch of black walnuts they needed gone so I filled a garbage pail with them and will be shucking them tomorrow... went to my sister's to drop off food etc... fun fun...

Speaking of the 10-pound-10-week challenge.. I have a serious issue. I did not hit 287.. (despite the fact that I was working my butt off..) in fact I went up a pound. (or so their scale says.)

However, at my mom's today (one day later), her scale says 288. Her scale is, typically, 2-3 lbs higher than the Y's scale. There is NO WAY I lost 3+ pounds in less than 24 hours. I have a sneaking suspicion that they somehow altered the scale's "0" gauge... maybe on purpose.. to cause everyone to 'not hit goal' so they don't have to give back the 10 dollars entry fee into the program. (Which is part of the deal. You lose the weight and you get your entry fee back.)

They also, yesterday, offered everyone a slice of Betty Crocker Spice cake.. with pumpkin added in, and chobani plain yogurt instead of eggs and oil, and topped it with about 4-5 tablespoons of fat free cool whip. When one of the other ladies asked how many calories, they said 100.

I looked up the nutritional facts today.. This says it's 170 a serving..., and from what I can tell, that is WITHOUT any oil/water/egg added to the mix!! PLUS, they were cutting out HUGE slices. There was only 8 or 9 people at yesterday's meeting, but they managed to give out half the cake, and 2 people (myself included) opted not to have any. (I knew better!)

So, instead of 100 calories, each person who ate any ate about 300-350, from my calculations (depending on how big of a wad of cool whip they dumped on top.)

I really want to bring this up to the people in charge, because I honestly think they're purposely trying to sabotage our progress at this point... but I had a sneaking suspicion when I signed up too... They have you weigh in at first right? So they give you this information packet, and how many calories you should be eating based on your weight. Mine (being 250+ and up) was 1200-2000 calories! And it lessened if you weighed less.. and I'm like "....isn't that opposite of what we really should be doing!?!" If you weigh a lot it's because you're taking in more calories than you should be!! I only take in around 700-1000 each day, and I'm losing weight! (it also kinda burns me that they are more "Oh low-fat low fat!" all the time like that's the only way to lose weight.. I'd rather eat a pile of animal lard (natural!) than a pile of processed, sugar-loaded bread!!!

Anyway, what do you ladies think? Should I raise a stink about this? (If I do, it will be anonymously over email from a brand new email account and from the POV of an imaginary person who wasn't me.)

Chubbygirl253 10-27-2012 09:59 PM

wolfshadow- I think I would bring some of those shenanigans (does anyone besides me say shenanigans anymore? lol) to light in a positively constructive way to whomever is in charge of the challenge. Especially if you can be anonymous. I'm involved in a challenge at the Y right now and it would be very unmotivating if I felt it was rigged or unfair. The stakes for our challenge is only bragging rights, no money, but it's demoralizing for people to work so hard just to be sabotaged by the very people who should be helping them. I can't wait till Nov when another challenge starts. It's called Battle of the Bulge and its designed to help us lose or maintain but not gain during the holidays. My current challenge is all about minutes we work out. I didn't tell my team captain that I think another team captain is playing kinda dirty. She is actively trying to recruit the people who work out a lot to switch to her team. I was pursued by a couple people on her behalf twice last week. It's nice they notice how hard and long I work out but trying to poach me seems like it isn't in the spirit of the challenge. Its not a big deal because I siad no thank you but I wonder how many others they are approaching. That isn't so nice. It takes all kinds.

I am off antibiotics as of today...and my lungs are feeling much better...and my cough is almost entirely gone...the antibiotics are supposed to continue working in my body for another 4 days though

i got everything done on my list today: shower - laundry - shopping - baking cranberry walnut bread - taking the kids to the halloween thing at the mall - and trying out a fitness class

ive never done a class before...this one is like zumba only set to more party/hip-hop music...it was an hour long and it confirmed just how terribly, horribly uncoordinated that i am :dizzy::dizzy: despite that, i got a good workout and had a good time, and will go back next sunday as well...my knees hurt from it tonight though, as well as my back, but that's to be expected...my lower spine is all kinds of twisted up and always will be so things that target that area tend to hurt my back a little...am surprised that my knees hurt though, probably just moving in directions that i normally dont go LOL

tomorrow i will attempt some slow running on the treadmill and see how my lungs handle that...i'm terrified of pushing myself too hard, too fast and winding up in the ER with a reoccurrance of pneumonia (that's happened before)

hope you all had a good weekend!!:):)

glad you enjoyed the class, alaskan laughter. I had a decent workout today. 3 hrs. burned almost 3000 calories. I took a really hard class today and everyone there was really fit. But they were all so encouraging. They literally cheered me on as I finished several mins behind them. it felt good.

i got back to running today....i ran two miles in very short intervals, not pushing myself on speed or endurance today...i put in an hour total on the treadmill, just over 4 miles total, and it didn't seem to aggravate my lungs much, if at all...i will do some sort of running tomorrow too...was an insanely busy day at work, lots of crises and kid drama etc...can tell its a full moon lol

and right now my weight is sitting between 184-187 consistently which is awesome!! sitting more at the 184 end than farther up :) so happy!

today was good. 4 hr workout. burned 4184 calories. did 13 miles total, mostly on machines. I'm beyond tired tonight. Took HEAT again. That class is sooooo hard!

alaskanlaughter 10-30-2012 01:30 AM

so the doctor's office called back again and left a message to see how i'm feeling....they NEVER do that...makes me wonder just how bad of pneumonia i really had...hmmm

good job on the workout chubbygirl!!

I worked really hard today, 5 hr workout. I finished my Oct goals a day early! Here's how I did:
82 hours of cardio (75 was the goal)
201 miles done (200 was the goal)
69,548 calories burned (60,000 was the goal)
I can't wait to weigh and take measurements tomorrow!!

Hi, ladies! Glad to see you're all still chugging along. :)

Not much to report from me. I did a 2 mile run on Monday but that's been it. Unavoidable life stuff and uncooperative weather keeps getting in the way.

This Saturday I'm going back to the studio to get my classes on. Short of double digit snowfall, the weather shouldn't be a problem this way. I could have signed up at Snap instead but zumba sounds like so much more fun to me than treadmill running. I can see myself making all kinds of excuses to avoid it. Plus, I really, really, really miss bodyflow.

Zumba is fun, though for me I get picky about instructors because they have such different styles. Zumba is not as standardized as Les Mills classes.

I'm taking a Zumba class now that I really adore, the instructor uses more straightforward movements that are pop/hip hop oriented and less Latin. I don't like all the twisting motions of Latin, I am worried I'd wrench my knees or something.
