I finally made it to the 150's lol..it took me a month and a half to get out of the 160's. I never thought i was going to get out alive lol

Thistleberry 07-31-2012 09:10 AM

That's exactly how I've felt in the 150s, katy929. I think I've overstayed my welcome.
I've had some good progress lately but I've been scared to post about it lest I jinx it. Finished the month at 151 which makes for 4.2 pounds for the month!! I'm so happy to finally have things truly moving again. I feel like now that I've got that whole birth control mess behind me nothing can stop me.

Hey Thistle! Long time.... I've been so busy this summer, and the weight is slowly but surely coming off. Congrats on breaking out of the 150s! I'm hoping to be with you in the 140s by the end of the month. 4 pounds to go! I hope all is well...

Hi Iron Law! Welcome back in general and welcome to the 150s thread! Here's to the 140s by the end of the month. You can do it! :cheer: Glad to see you're still fighting. :)

I've been stuck at 159 for what seems like forever. Starting with a personal trainer next week. Not sure if this means the scale will go up (due to muscle gain), or down.

Hey there! I'm at 157.5 right now. I'm hoping to be out of the 150's by the end of next month.

HappyHoliday 08-19-2012 11:51 PM

This morning I finally broke through to 158. I had been stuck between 159-162 since early July!! I haven't seen this number in years and am glad to be over that hump.

Have my first personal training session tomorrow and really not sure what this is going to do for my numbers. I know it is supposed to make the numbers wacky on the scale. Also I was reading online about fat percentage and losing fat pounds and I'm really confused. Apparently I can only lose so many fat lbs since my body still needs to keep some (this part of course makes sense), but according to the calculations I did, I'd therefore realistically get to 137ish. That can't be true, because I used to weigh way less than this. What I was reading online said of you lose more than your allotted fat, you are losing lean body mass, which is bad. Can't be that bad! Plus I don't get if I lose fat BUT ALSO GAIN muscle, then I may not see the numbers move at all, or in the wrong direction. I know it's good to judge more about how strong/fit I feel and how clothes fit but can't believe I would have to be stuck at some minimum number other than the ranges I'm used to seeing recommended by frame size, and knowing what I used to weigh.. Super bummed before I even start.

I recently just got back to the 150's. I started my journey at 165lbs 4 weeks ago and I'm now at 156! My ultimate goal is 130.

Don't be bummed! I wish I could offer you an explanation that makes sense but honestly I've done the same calculations and was left scratching my head about it too. In the end I brushed it off because I honestly don't know what my body fat percentage is right now anyway. I can guess using calculators and such but there's nothing saying they're an accurate gauge for me. If you do know your current body fat percentage and it still doesn't make sense to you, then perhaps you have a different situation going on. I mean, it's possible when you were lower than 137 before you had less muscle. Perhaps this time when you get back to 137 you'll be in smaller sizes than you were when you were there before owing to muscle's more compact nature.
I'm just spit-balling here. :)
How did the first session go?

HappyHoliday 08-27-2012 09:48 AM

Hi thistleberry,
My first session went well. It was more informative than a workout. I did a plank for 2 mins and some other exercises. The weights were super light so I did 25 reps but wasn't sore at all next day.. I bought a package bc it is at a very convenient location and the trainer is really nice, and I do need to learn proper form, etc. Due to our schedules and the holiday it will be at least a week before I can go again.

I'm also scheduled to go to a group training place that is near my office. It's more boot camp style, with very small groups. Looks like this would be effective, but also expensive. Going to check it out after the holiday.

I finally reached 155 yesterday..lol..getting out of the 160's was really difficult for me lol then i jump on the scale and could not believe how much it had moved lol. I stepped off and stepped back on just to make sure haha

Hello,
I weighed in at 155.6 this morning. How is everyone doing?

HappyHoliday 09-25-2012 12:14 AM

Hellllooo

I am pleased that I have been strength training regularly now, 3 days per wk.
Need to add some cardio though.
Need to drink more water.
I had two or three days where the scale went up 1.4 but then it returned to 155.

How is everyone doing?

HappyHoliday 10-01-2012 11:57 PM

154

Hello! I must admit, I was a little MIA from this site for a lot of my 150's but I am back to being a more regular visitor and I just wanted to chime in. I'm right around 152 to 154 and I'm hoping to be out them all together by Christmas! :carrot: How are you all?
