Squeak - DH tells me the same thing...I grump about 1lb a week and he says, "Well, in a year you will weigh 52lbs less!" Too true.

B - I have to be vigilant with the kids' plates as well. My mom says "Do you want it to go to waste, or to waist?"

Awesome tips everyone, great encouragement! Let's DO IT!!

MP: Love that "do you want it to go to waste or to waist?" I'm adding that to my bag of mental tricks! When prepping dinner, I try to always chew gum -- the stronger the flavour the better. It's not a great habit but it keeps me from sampling.

HI all - I'm a newbie - hope you don't mind me jumping in, but I just had to write to say that I'm so glad I found this site. There are really other people who feel like me and have bad days, too. I was starting to feel so alone! It seems like everyone here is very positive and supportive of each other and that's what I need right now. I appreciate all of you being on here. It's nice to have somewhere to go and vent - I can't do it at home - too many "food issues" that complicate those relationships. And I don't want to tell other friends or co-workers because I'll feel scrutinized when I eat. So, this is a perfect place for me. YAY!

Although staying on the losing track hasn't been my issue lately, I have of course been there in the past.

I wanted to stop in to cheer each of you on...YOU CAN DO IT!

Set a goal for each day and reflect on how you did at the end of each day. Then set new goals for the next day.

We are each capable of success and find it in many different ways. Go For It Today!!!!

I'm needing a little help or encouragement in this area. I started my new eating/exercise regimen at the first of the year. Within 4 weeks I had lost 8 pounds. But now, I'm stalled. Each day for the last 15 days, I've been 172.2 pounds. No higher, no lower. And I've counted every calorie, worked out 5 times/week, etc. I'm only eating about 1200-1400 calories, so I don't know how much more I can cut.

Has anyone else had a 3-week slump, and how did you overcome it?

Mietuk, have you considered upping your calories? Sounds counterintuitive, but you might find that upping your calories by 200-300 might jumpstart your loss.

Thanks ladies- I've upped my cardio even more, and after 3 days I'm finally down another pound. Hope it continues!

Me too! This past week is a bit of an exception, but I have been dancing around 208 for two weeks now. Down a bit here and there, but not like before. I know I can't lose 15lbs/month regularly, but 8 would be nice! I agree pix - I need to really tighten up what's going in my mouth and keep better track of the calories. I think I am going to switch to more of a pure calorie counting thing than just the whole foods part.

We can do this!! I believe in me and you!!
