Cool Baby steps

I am so grateful for all the support on this website and forum. I finally added a weight tracker to my signature, which I consider to be the first commitment. I have actually posted weight and goals and now have something to be make me accountable. I have been out of work for the last two weeks and have gained an astounding 10 pounds!! It's amazing how quickly weight gets put on isn't it? I have been depressed which hasn't helped, but today thanks to journaling and the support here, I am finally ready to continue my journey of healthier living. I have been overweight for 11 years now (since I was pregnant with my first) and have been unhappy (to say the least) about it ever since. Before my first pregnancy I weighed 101 and could fit into size 2 jeans. While I know I was a lot younger then and don't have an unrealistic goal set, I have to work to reach my goal. I have been inspired by all of you and hope we can all reach our goals together. (Weight loss goals and other personal goals as well).

Here's to us!

Focused, Congrats on the first baby step! Being out of work makes it really hard to stay on a diet. I couldn't wait to get back to work so I could stablize my eating and get back to drinking enough water. It was horrible while I was out, I just couldn't get the water in and was grazing on stuff all day.

I stay at home with the kids and I wouldn't trade it for anything. However... Lauren you are sooooo right ~ I graze all of the time! Just got back from picnicking at a local park with the kids and there were m &m's, cheetos, etc.,etc... Everyone brought stuff to share. The kids were off running around and playing and the mom's were dipping into the snacks. If someone would have pulled out a beer, I would have been in heaven:-).

I talked to my husband last night about my weight and how I just can't be consistent about food/exercise. He's says that I'm too hard on myself and I don't think that I'm hard enough on myself. Ugggghhhh, it's so tiresome.

Just posted for my first time as well. I am definitely looking for support from other ladies trying to lose weight and get healthy! We can all take baby steps together! I have found being accountable to people other than myself is great motivation. Its also so helpful to have people cheering you on who know what you are going through! I just started my exercise regime. I got for a 20 minute walk around the neighborhood and then do 20 mins on the stationary bike. Hoping to increase this soon! I too wish there was a magic potion or something to get me THIN NOW! BUt I keep reminding myself that I didn't get this way over night! I also get mad when I go to hang out with my friends and they have all these munchies that are soooo not good you! I need to learn to pack healthy alternatives!

I look forward to helping and being helped! As focused said Here's to us!
