Good Morning! Ok, something about horses... beach.... just makes me wish that we could trade locations. You lucky girl! It looks to be a gorgeous weather day here in St. Louis (near 60 degrees) but there's no beach around... Third morning in a row that I've gotten up and exercised.
Wow ~ what a difference it makes physically *and* mentally. My oldest son had his school music program last night and we stopped on the way home to get ice cream for the kids. DH was shocked that I passed ((I'm a sucker for ice cream). I hope that everyone else has a most excellent day ~ Joan

I was in the best shape of my life (as was DH) and I got pregnant with my DD there. SO I am so excited to get back into shape, and take her there!!

Irishjoan: I was born and raised in the bootheel of MO

Well, I didn't do to great yesterday (thats Day2) But I am headed in the right direction!!

Hi All,

Ugh, woke up miserable and snotty this AM. Thankfully a hot, hot shower cleared a lot of it out. Guess I need to be consistant with the humidifier at night. Day 2, so far, so good. They're not used to having an admin person in this office, but they're giving me stuff to do, so that's good. I may have to go looking for something later.

Congrats on the loss Gator & on passing up icecream Joan!

Have a great day all!

Hello all!! Not fair! I wanna go horseback riding on the beach! That sounds like so much fun. Today is beautiful here. Almost 70 already. I have recess duty so I get to enjoy some ofthe sunshine but it usually sucks my energy for my afternoon walk. I am really going to try to get out and walk this afternoon with my boys. Last week I have never seen my scale go up and down so much. We ate crawfish on valentines day and went to the casino on Saturday to celebrate my birthday (also on valentines day) and ate snow crab. I went all the way down to 149 (a number I haven't seen in 4 years since I was pregnant with my first son) but ended up back where I started at 153. So this week with good weather and no more holidays (we also had tons of king cake around here for Mardi Gras to tempt me) I hope to take those pounds off again.

Morning all -

Just a quick post - busy day at work.

Welcome to all the newbies and MIAs....
Lauren - I hope you feel better - maybe it was that donut

Congrats to those that lost some weight.

I have made a pact with myself to seriously get my butt in gear next week. DS has a double ear infection, DH has the stomach flu and I am doing my darndest to not get sick, but still eat SOMETHING to keep my strength up.

Oh well, no pity party here. It all starts in the next couple days. Lent actually helps, b/c it forces me to make healthier choices and get some of the bertter choices, like more seafood, into my system.

Keep up the good work y'all!!!

~Becky.

Michelle, are you SURE she's having a girl?! She's carrying awfully low!! I personally did not want any games at my shower and my SIL was happy to oblige, since she's not the game type either. She did manage to surprise me though.

Beck, Yeah, maybe it was the donut...and the quarter pounder and the fries!!

I'm behaving myself today though. Oatmeal was breakfast and I have a couple Turkey, broccoli, cheese Lean Pockets for lunch. Will probably have one now and one mid-afternoon.

Michelle - I sent you a private message. if you want some game ideas, email me off message board and I can send you some ideas, worksheets. For a colleague's baby shower and one that was thrown for me i was AGAINST baby shower games. So I came up with baby bingo (from teh gifts), baby jumble ( a bunch of baby words all mixed up) and a "dipes and wipes" raffle. Everyone was told that there would be a gift basket raffle (nothing too expensive), and the "fee" was a pack of diapers or wipes, they could enter as many times as they wanted. I found it really useful b/c it gave me a way of trying different brands of diapers without haveing to buy them myself.

Anyway, let me know and I can send you the work sheets and game sheets. For the favor, we made a bunch of Pillsbury cinnamon buns (from teh can. Individually wrapped them and attached a note saying "Thanks from XXXX's "bun in the oven"".

Man, I am loving your notes! Everyone is so "real" about life, weight loss, etc., etc... I had been checking out the site for several days before joining over the weekend. Seemed like it was my kind of place as there were many, many references to coffee;-). I can't live w/o the stuff. DH gives me a Starbucks card every once in a while for a treat. He tells me that I'm a much nicer person with that in my wallet...

Well, I'm feeling rather badly.

I've fallen so far off the bandwagon over the last couple weeks that I don't even know where I put it. Every time I think "I can do this", I look over at the scale and am afraid to get on it. Looks at my second attempt at a 3 month goal to get shed the 10 lbs is out the window....and that's depressing.

DW has suggested we take Salsa Dance classes, and to be quite honest, the idea terrifies me. I feel fat and unattractive. Then there's the fact that I have NO confidence or self-esteem. (I suspect these two things are connected.) This means the last thing I want to do is be the "centre of attention" during a dance class but DW doesn't ask to do too much stuff together so I feel badly about saying I don't want to. I just don't know what to do.

So, here I sit alone, dwelling on the whole thing while DW is at work.

Sometimes it just all sucks.

L ~ look at it this way... you won't be the only person at dance class that needs to lose a few pounds. DH and I took dance lessons early on in our marriage and I really, really, really didn't want to. Same reasons that you mentioned. I felt super fat (I'd love to be that size again right now!) and being the center of attention is my worst nightmare. Turns out it was nothing like that. There were a few show-off's but for the most part everyone else felt just as uncomfortable being there as I did. In no time flat, we were having a ball. I say, go for it. It might be just what you need to help get you back on track.
