Hey girlies. Well i have some somewhat good news to report. My husband had is medical review yesterday. His doctor recommended him for 6 months more limited duty, but this time the limited duty has to be approved by the headquarters of the marine corps. But the dr said that usually if the Dr recommends it, they will do it. So atleast for the next 6 months were set.(of course they could still evalute him and discharge him but lets keep our fingers crossed that they dont)
But im feelin a little bit better about it all . Lets just hope everything goes as planned lol. But aside from that, im feeling much better. The pills have given me energy and are helping me lose weight which is a pretty cool side effect, and i seem less stressed out during the day. Im still getting some headaches but not as often. But thats really about it! hope you guys are having a wonderful day!

Stephie Thanks for the ideas. I'm hoping to go grocery shopping on the 16th, if all goes well. *sigh* I'm starving for fruit and veggies. I went a bought, with my pocket change, a little bag of baby carrots the other day for .99 ...just because I needed something that had crunch to it and tasted real. I'll check out the Thrift stores around here for weights, and see if I can find any... never thought to look there!

Heather So glad to hear that hubby's review went well! That's excellent news! So glad to hear that you are feeling better as well. Gotta love the weight loss side effect Hope that the rest of your week goes just as wonderful!

Well, I'm drinking ALOT of water today, something I really needed to boost! It is SUNNY out today, and I'm VERY excited! I plan to go for my 3 mile walk today with Dad. Lord knows I'll need it with 2 Thanksgiving dinners this weekend! Then I'll do some stretches and such on my Stability ball later tonight.

Just thought I stop in and say Hi! Had a good day yesterday and made it to the gym today.

marineswife: glad to hear everything worked out for you

Amanda: have you tried lifting canned goods or bottles of water for resistance?

Well here I am.. things are doing well eating and exercise. I'm feeling better, so did both my workouts yesterday, and am hoping to do at least some cardio today after work. And water.. yay. Starting to really feel good about this again.. glad I was able to force myself to eat right and exercise my first few days back!

I absolutely cannot wait for this weight to come off. I'm such a naturally impatient person.. but I know that once I start actually losing, it will seem to go a lot faster. Just right now, staying in this little plateau, is just a bit distressing!

Stephie - yay hotdogs! My mom has one, black and tan, and is absolutely the most friendly dog in the world.

Marines - yay for the 1lb!

Daisy - Bradd Bitt isn't my personal favorite.. but still I wish I could gave good dreams like that, instead of ones that I went to my mother's house and saw she got a new dog, that she said she got for free from the SPCA.

Fae- Being impatient isn't always a bad thing. I think it kind of fuels motivation to be consistent, you know?

Dollypie- did you catch those fishh in your avatar?

Amanda- I can't believe you get turkey dinners! I'm jealous (just for the turkey part, though). Set aside some time to nap

Stephanie- positive vibes your way How hard was it to get that dog into costume?

Jaime- yes, it is almost the weekend!!!

A friend of mine surprised me with an overnight spa trip to Breckenridge, so I will get the massage I've been dreaming about for months now! I feel like my vacation is starting early. Also, it won't be a gorge-fest because she is VERY careful about what she eats so I won't be able to go overboard. God bless her! I love how friends have a tendancy to just swoop in right when you need them

Hope you all are doing better at making it to the weekend than I am! I'm itching to get out of here!

Argh, already too much work and homework in the past days for me to properly answer every thread, instead of just reading and writing half of what I wanted to write! Gotta love school. Now I'm feeling lost in the thread again. Although I grabbed a few bits here and there.

Heather: Good news for you! And congrats on the awaited loss.

Fae: Ugh, I know the impatient bit! I guess it's both a good thing and a bad one as well--after all, wanting to lose too fast is right at the corner, along with yo-yo dieting. But then, a little dose of impatience is probably a good thing to have!

Stephie: Aw, ice cream for a dog? That doesn't sound very healthy. Poor little one. (Come to think of it, it's not that healthy for us either!)

Ok, since I had mentioned it last week: yesterday, I finally could attend my stick fighting class, and indeed it was much fun. Partly like fencing, and partly very different--swirly move, almost a kind of show-off, in a very elegant way. Of course, *I* am not doing it the elegant way, since I'm still trying to get the basic moves right. But even if it takes time to learn, I know it's going to be fun, which always helps.

We had a bit of a scare, though--one of the girls attending the class suddenly fell to the floor crying and holding her knee, and I don't know what happened, but we supposed she had somehow twisted it doing a wrong move. It seemed to hurt like ****. I don't know her, so I don't know how it ended after we departed from the class (ER services had come to examine her, we sure didn't hang around them craning our necks), but I hope she's not going to be down for long due to that. It's really not a good experience, especially on one's first class.

Oh--Something weird has been happening recently, too, and I wonder if some of you have experienced it as well? I head to one of the campus restaurants thinking about pizza and unhealthy stuff like that (catching a cold + the weather dropping like 10 degress in one day tend to have that effect on me, I crave the weirdest, most "comforting" stuff :x), aaand... Once there, I change my mind at the last moment and pick the veggies, warm soup and meat/fish. I mean, the contrary is what I'm used to--taking a good decision, then blowing it off in the end to choose the wrong foods--but this? First time it happens. First time, rather, that the sight of healthy foods manage to make a sheer *craving* go away in a snap. It makes me wonder, really. Unless it's just my body needing "something warm", whatever it is, and the soup (and therefore the healthier options as well) has more appeal in that regard? *ponders*

That's awesome! I'm more of a plan binger. I know ahead of time "ok big event means I am going to stuff my face and eat until I can't eat anymore." Otherwise I'm usually consistently healthy. Only problem is there happens to be a lot of "planned binge weekends"

When I have a pizza craving those lean cuisine pizzas are amazing!

Hello,

I want to thank everyone for the support. It is really hard to jump in on these chats. There are so many people saying so much and I don't know what everyone is talking about but I am going to try to stay active in the chats. I have been doing better with the over eating. I am still exercising and feeling much better but no weight loss yet.

Glasgow314- I know what you mean- lately these chats have just flown by, but don't be afraid to jump in! Glad to hear you are keeping up with eating well and working out. Sometimes it's all I can do not to raid the fridge, which can be a huge accomplishment in itself!

Seriously, is it friday yet?

Man, the weather here has been so beautiful the past couple of days, and I was all psyched to go hiking this weekend with the boy while he's here.... and then it rains. But it was okay, the forecast for today was still 'partly sunny'.... but now it's raining anyway. And tomorrow it will rain. and Sunday. There goes my plan

I also walked around my neighborhood last night and found a series of streets that remain relatively flat, meaning I now have a good route for running. It's circular, too. I think, juding by the time it took to walk, that the route is about a mile and a half long. Which is perfect for the C25k, right? I'd just do it twice. Anyway.... now I just have to get out there and start the program!

have a good OP weekend gals!

Hey again girls.. Well i think i jinxed myself when i said i was doing better and feeling better.. Today i woke up at 6am with a killer headache and stomach ache... I dont understand it... I took my migrane meds right off the bat and im hoping they will get rid of this soon so i can function today... ugh.. i wish my dr would do some tests or something to find out what is causing these migranes!

Britomart- Thats great you found that route. The housing area i live in is about a mile around, so i walk that and its great cuz i know how far im walking. I hope the weather clears for you.. If not maybe you can just cuddle in the house with your boy hehe.. COngrats on him comin to visit you, you must be excited!

It's TURKEY WEEKEND!!!! Well up here in Canada anyway! I'm so excited!!! It's going to be a VERY busy weekend, and poor hubby has to work it all...no thanksgiving dinner for him!

I've been reading my book (The Sugar Solution), and it's great so far! Alot of the stuff in it will be helpful for DH too, since he is a diabetic. So I'm very much looking forward to starting this 4 weeks program they have in there, plus there exercise suggestions as well.

But for now, I'm doing pretty good... I drank more then my required amount yesterday of water! I was so impressed with myself. DH thought I was dying or something, cause he's never seen me drink so much in my life, never mind it being water! I ate pretty healthy yesterday. I had DH get me a salad from work, and I put in some chicken. It was really good! I may do that again today. I had a wonderful walk yesterday, and I might just do it again today. It's so nice out.

Have a good weekend everyone!!!! Happy "Canadian" Thanksgiving to you all!

It is finally friday! Making a trip to Dallas this weekend to see my brother. I need to be real conscious of what I eat because we always go out to have drinks and then dinner. I should tell him that we should go for a walk around the lake on Sunday. That would be a good way to burn the extra calories! I hope everyone has a great weekend.

junebug: DH and I caught those fish on a trip to Rockport last year. That was just the redfish, we also caught 20 speckled trout, 10 black drum, and several flounder. Needless to say that the freezer was stocked to eat fish for the next 9 months.

Kery: I surprise myself sometimes too when I go for the healthy choices when unhealthy ones are there too. Just eating a greasy cheeseburger and fries would be good, but my stomach might not be able to handle all the grease after not having it for so long.

glasgow: I can relate there is so much conversation going on

brit: sorry to hear about the rain. let me know how the couch 2 5k goes. I have been wanting to do that, but I just can't imagine running for 30 minutes, but 30 minutes on the elliptical is a piece of cake.

marineswife: I hope your migraine goes away soon!

mickey: Have a good weekend! Great that your husband can bring you home salads.

Friday evening at laaaaaast! Let's hope that I'll have more energy this week-end than I've had today. I've been pumping myself with essential oils to keep the cold at bay, but my, that sucker is a resistant one! *gets wooden stick out and prepares to hit the cold*

dollypie - Actually I made a "bad" choice recently that perfectly illustrates your point. A cousin of my mother's has a bakery almost right under where I live during the week, and I paid him a visit and bought a pain au chocolat there as well. The thing was tasty, but soooo laden with butter that it almost made me sick. I'm not going to tell that to the cousin, but it's the last time I buy stuff there.
