Any New NSV's?

It's been a while since we've had a thread about our NSV.

I just have to say that tonight I'm going out and since my clothes are all kind of big I went to go try on some tops. So I went to the juniors department (and of course I haven't fit those clothes in forever). I was a little apprehensive about trying on anything since I've gotten my feelings hurt in the juniors department before.
Well...guess what? I was able to fit a Large top! It fits perfectly! No bulges, no pulling the top down or up...it just fits! I had no idea that it would even work on me.:carrot:
And when I was shopping none of the sales people looked at me crazy as if to say why are you shopping in this department. It was such a great feeling. I finally now have the option of misses or juniors sizes.

And...for the first time since...forever I have boobs small enough to go braless in the trendier tops! I have no idea what bra size I am...I'm still wearing my old bras which are 36C's...I really think I'm in a very small B cup. One of these days I will give in and buy some new bras. I'm so :D

LockItUp 03-25-2006 05:57 PM

Woo hoo Healthyme!

I bought a shirt at Body Central (if you don't have those where you live it's a store for minature cute little girls, like a Wet Seal, or Charlotte Ruse)!!! I was terrified to go in the dressing room. They didn't have any extra larges and plus they make their stuff so small, but I did, and it fit, in fact all three of the shirts I took fit! I guess I am not extra large anymore and YAY!!!

AND my waist measurement is under 30!!!

snoody 03-25-2006 06:13 PM

congradulations on fitting into smaller clothing. That is a good feeling, it makes it seems like all this dieting and hard work is really working.

kayleystar 03-26-2006 01:14 AM

I've got one! I bought a pair of awesome pants on sale a long time ago...size 20. They've NEVER been able to fit me, but I've been trying so hard, cuz I wanted to fit into them for the concert next weekend...and they FIT! Not super comfortably, but I can wear them without dying! Granted my other pants in 22 are just starting to fit, but HEY! I'll take what I can get!!!

kayleystar 03-26-2006 01:21 AM

Oh yeah! And my b/f bought me a promise ring..and it's size 8! I used to wear like 9-9 1/2!! :) Yay for fatness gone!

ladyjames63 03-26-2006 03:12 AM

I can walk quickly without fatigue or panting for several minutes! And I bought a shirt that is a 16 -- I have not been a 16 in about three years.

fitgal2 03-26-2006 01:55 PM

Hey Healthy me...

When people ake me why I am shoping in the juniors I tell them, "why pay PST if I don't have too!!!!" (i live in canada and children's clothes juniors included are not charged PST)...they shut up after that! hahaha

Way to go on the progres!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! weeeeeeeeee

OH and my NSV...My bra size is shinking...is that good or bad??? hahaha

futuresurferchick 03-26-2006 02:15 PM

Congrats everyone :)

I actually had 2 NSVs yesterday. I bought a new pair of jeans and they are a size 22. I admit they are the stretchy kind.... and there are still size 24 pants that don't fit me. But it's proof that I'm moving on down, so I'm happy.

I wore the jeans later on when I went out with 2 of my very close friends from high school. One of them hasn't seen me since February and he's like "you look different." The other one thought I looked exactly the same, but I'll take what I can get... :dizzy: I told them I had been losing weight. It's the first time I've talked about it with any of my friends. It kind of makes me nervous that it's noticeable now, but happy at the same time.

Flying Betty 03-26-2006 03:06 PM

I have a few. I saw some friends last weekend that I hadn't seen in a few months, and they said how much better I looked than the last time they saw me. (Of course, there are nicer ways to put that but it was still flattering) And I just got new jeans in a size 12! And if I'm allowed to mention scale victories here, my weight/BMI just went down into the "overweight" range rather than obese, and I'm more than halfway there!

trnsfrmnreplace 03-26-2006 04:18 PM

My waist is getting more toned so i got myself 3 shirts the other day, one of them being a small and it was a bit short but it STILL looked great!

Also the place had a FULL size dressing room where everyone undresses in front of one another, it is one big room surrounded by mirrors [kind of like at a fashion show backstage] and i felt comfortable for the first time! Did i mention i was wearing a thong and had to take my pants off to try on another pair? :)

LockItUp 03-26-2006 05:27 PM

Trns, what the heck kind of store were you at so I can make sure to never ever go there.

Congrats to everyone's NSV's there are some really great ones!!!

trnsfrmnreplace 03-26-2006 06:58 PM

LockItUp - hahaha. Yea i'm surprised to see something like that in America. [I lived in Europe half my life]

It was at this store called Loehmanns, they have designer clothes and shoes for super cheap prices.

lizzbabe 03-27-2006 01:49 PM

My latest NSVs are gym-related...

After finishing a really hard treadmill run the other day the woman next to me asked me if I ran for the local university. I said no, just for myself. And she said "well I just want you to know that I admire you." Now it makes me run ever harder knowing people are watching lol.

Same day I went on to lift weights and the gym owner was showing someone around the machines and remarked that she should hang out with me if she wanted to get a good workout. And she agreed saying yeah she had noticed how hard I trained.

Made me feel good even if the scale isn't cooperating with me.

trnsfrmnreplace 03-27-2006 04:18 PM

lizzbabe - hehe. I wish i copuld join you, you would kick my butt!

I would be beaming after those compliments.

Tampaquillowner 03-27-2006 04:40 PM

Hmm I dont for sure know what NSV means but I have an idea.

Two weeks ago before vacation I went clothes shopping for the first time since January (when I really knew I had to lose weight). I have gone down 2 sizes and am back to a 13. My goal is to at least get back to a 9 which I wore in high school. The only thing that sucks is that I have no clothes that fit. I have like 2 pairs of capris and of course all my workout clothes. But other than that only one pair of pants fits. I just dont want to spend the money when I am just going to have to buy new clothes in a few months anyway.

But woo hoo I can shop again at American Eagle and Pac sun!

rosiek2277 03-27-2006 05:42 PM

When I started my weight loss I was squeezing into size 18’s with a couple of new clothes in size 20’s. I had packed all my size 16’s away, last week I took down some jeans and they fit COMFORTABLY, size 16!

NSV -- Non Scale Victory

Tampaquillowner 03-27-2006 09:09 PM

Rosie thanks for clarifying I just wondered what they stood for although I kind of got the idea.

You sound just like me. I was in an 18 and started trying some on at Old navy and they werent fitting! That was when I realized it was over. I had had my fun of eating what I wanted and now it was done.

I was sooo excited when I got back into a 13-14. The pair of 14 capris from American Eagle I have are getting too big now too!

kayleystar 03-27-2006 09:22 PM

I jogged to the mailbox and back withOUT being outta breath! Not huge, but it works for me!

Megan1982 03-30-2006 10:18 AM

I arrived at my BF's the other day wearing a form-fitting shirt and he told me I looked very fit, like I'd been working out. I really don't look much different than when we started dating 8+ months ago (weight or inches-wise I've only fluctuated a few lbs./1 inch the whole time), and he does know how much I go to the gym, but it was nice to hear.

Hurrah for fitting into smaller sizes and not being out of breathe! Great job for us all! :carrot:

citycowgirl 03-30-2006 02:48 PM

I went out with some friends last night. My best guy friend was talking directly across the table from me and since I have a mild form of ADD (I can't just sit there, my hands have to be playing with something) I was playing with my class ring. Usually I have to use lotion or something to get the darn thing off my finger cuz I had gained so much weight. I was tugging on it with the same force I normally use and in the middle of his sentence my ring went flying across the table at him. It bounced between his legs, hit the chair and rolled under the table. I started laughing so hard, I started to cry, as were my other friends. So that brightened my mood to know I can get this ring off my finger without struggling.

LockItUp 03-30-2006 03:15 PM

YAY for all of those. Man there are some good ones!

My latest one was that I went to Chili's with my friend yesterday and decided to order just whatever I wanted. I ate exactly half, which for me is really huge because I am a full fledged member of the clean your plate club, that's why I try and stick with healthy things usually. I stopped when I was no longer hungry, not when full, not when stuffed, not when I was about to barf, but no longer hungry. I was really proud of that. She only ate half too, but I doubt she was as excited about it (all 120 pounds of her on her 5'8" frame, damn her, hahaha).

stacylambert 03-31-2006 01:39 AM

I have a couple.

My rings need resized! They actually feel off last night and I thought I'd lost them.

My dirtbike gear I'd bought a month or so ago fits! I had gotten the largest size they make (13/14) and the pants were TIGHT. I tried them on tonight and they fit great everywhere except a little snug in the thighs. Very wearable though. They get their maiden voyage tomorrow!

And I guess you could call this an NSV but for two weeks now I've been on plan with my eating. I've stayed under my 1800 calories a day average while including at least 100g of protein.

healthyme05 03-31-2006 12:16 PM

Congrats everyone...you guys have some great NSVs!!!

Alaynna 03-31-2006 03:30 PM

I just had a NSV!!

I went shopping today and I bought my first pair of size 8 pants since high school!!! I first tried on the size 10's and they were a little loose so I grab the 8 (thinking it would be snug), but they fit perfectly!!

Ready2ShedLBS 03-31-2006 08:15 PM

I have always said that the government should issue bonds to people who are trimming down, for clothes. We are helping America to not the the fattest country. hehehe.. I can dream right?

I dont have a NSV which I assume is a New Scale Victory. However, since I have lost between 90 and 100lbs my boobs literally DEFLATED. So.. for Valentines Day my fiancee bought be a beautiful set of ta-tas and I am happy to say that I am a 36C and I throughly enjoy wearing no bra, with certain shirts, I could never do that before because they had no shape, just hangy skin. So thats my latest, " I feel good about me" news.

Edited to say, obviously I didnt read the second page before I posted... I got it now, Non Scale Victory.. :censored: Newbie, sheesh..

stacylambert 04-01-2006 12:05 AM

Ready2shedlbs, I'm soooo jealous! I started out only having b cups so I'm scared to think about what they'll be when I reach my goal! How was the experience for you?

angeleyezx 04-01-2006 04:29 AM

OOoOo, I had one yesterday.
I tried on my size 16(14 usa size?) prom dress from when I was 16y/or, it was tight then and now lose!
and I also tried on my size 16(again14 usa) red satin grown from my 18th birthday party and it was too big!
both completely unwearable, which is a shame as they are beautiful dresses.

LaurenDougherty 04-01-2006 12:02 PM

a guy at the gym asked me if i was a trainer yesterday. I kind of looked at him like he was crazy but then went home and thought about it and realized it was kind of a compliment. A little bit freaky though when you know people are staring at you at the gym.

It wasnt too bad, except at first, I thought my chest was going to cave in. But the doc had told me to do certain stretches and take hot showers every 30mins and after 3 showers (which if not for my fiancee i would have never done) i felt alot better, but was still in pain but it was minimal because i had drugs and my boobs looked deformed because I had the implant placed under the muscle because they look and feel more real that way, and if *god forbid* I ever get a lump I will be able to feel it because my "real" breast tissue is on top of the implant. My boobs did NOT look cute until about 4 weeks after surgery, they were up to my collar bones at first ( the implants) but they drop into place. They are beautiful now, and I love them, and would do it all over again. I know at first I was like.. why would people do this more than once. Also, I had a great doctor. When considering surgery just remember " you get what you pay for"

britomart 04-04-2006 08:37 PM

Ooh! I have one again finally. I went to a cardio class with a roommate today. We had an instructor who I've never seen before, and I did the whole workout thinking that it was really lame and not a good workout at all... I mentioned it to my roommate afterwards and she was like "Really? I thought I was going to die! It was so tough!"

I've got 50lbs on her but I can survive a cardio class easier! I must be getting muscle or cardio capabilities or something... :D Just goes to show size is NOT everything!

trnsfrmnreplace 04-04-2006 08:43 PM

Britomart - hehehe... that is a great one. :) I die during cardio. My heartrate shoots up to 185+ in a matter of minutes.

Today i fit into my pants without stretching them after they came out of the dryer!

britomart 04-04-2006 10:22 PM

ooooh that's a good one too. i have one pair of pants that aren't uncomfortable straight out of the dryer, but they were big for me to begin with... I guess that doesn't count! :dizzy:

Daisy Boo 04-04-2006 10:31 PM

ok, not sure if this is an NSV or not.

i can take off my jeans without unzipping them.

just undo the top button and off the come. WTF? not sure if i have just stretched them beyond their boundaries or if they are actually too big now. granted i buy clothes that are looser than tighter so that may be the reason.

:?:

canadian*girl 04-04-2006 10:31 PM

i find it very hard to recognize non-scale victories. i really should start paying attention to things other than that silly number the scale says.

yesterday i walked to the library. that's 45 minutes there and 45 minutes back. oh, and did i mention that i had a 28 pound baby strapped to my back?

Flying Betty 04-04-2006 10:36 PM

I can wear baby doll t-shirts now! I fit perfectly into the XLs instead of stuffing myself in and trying to convince myself that if I stretch it a bit it'll be just fine and then never wearing them because I can't bear to leave the house in something so skintight.

Odaley 04-04-2006 10:39 PM

This morning started out on the right foot. I received a call from my FIL for my husband, but he stated to me that when he saw me on Sunday, it looks like I've dropped some weight. No one else knows that I've been trying to drop some poundage except my husband. I've been going at it for three weeks solid now and people are starting to notice (even though I can't)! Yeah!! Too bad the rest of the day was poo, but having him say that to me put a spring in my step this morning.

JLynne126 04-06-2006 02:14 PM

I have one!!!

I've gone from a size 12 to a size 8, which is what I was in highschool, and the other day I actually tried on a size 6 and it fit!!!

~jess~

spillthebeans 04-06-2006 03:50 PM

I ran three miles monday, then I did it again on Wednesday-I'm very proud, I have never considered myself a runner/jogger...but I think I might be now.

I think I need more convincing...here I come 5 miles!

Also, I've been shopping so much lately, and enjoying it! I can fit in almost everything...it's nice to be in normal stores with avg. sizes again.

Pilatesgrl 04-06-2006 04:32 PM

This morning (it felt like the middle of the night!) I went to perkins to study for a monster exam. I usually get diet pop, 3 pc of french toast and 2 pieces of bacon (I need food to keep myself awake!) And this morning, I only had water, a fruit cup, and a little less than 1.5 pc of french toast...no bacon, no pop!
I was super tired, but stuffed with even that. I just had "lunch" at 2:30, and I wasn't even that hungry...

I love this post!
