Default Silly questions!

WARNING: these are not questions of the day!

Hi girls,

I have a couple of VERY IMPORTANT questions (*giggle*) I wanted to ask you and I am wondering if you could help me out....

1) I hate to shop for bras but I really need to... Do you have any suggestions for me? Bras that you love, that fit well and that doesn't look like your 85 years old?? Please tell me....

2) I've read the if you eat 1700 calories a day and you burn 2000 calories a week, you are sure to lose weight...Do you believe that and do you think it means if you workout more, you will loose more?

Thank you very much!!!

Sacha

#1) I had good luck bra shopping at the Victoria's Secret semi-annual clearance sale...I believe it may still be going on

#2) I personally don't feel weight loss is as cut-and-dried as the above formula. It depends on your body weight, the intensity of the exercise, etc...plus I am starting to become a believer in "surprising" your body/metabolism by having something above & beyond your usual caloric intake from time to time....I always seem to hear that mixing it up (as far as food intake & amounts) works! We'll have to see. I can say from personal experience over the past 7 months, that I believe working out often & rather intensely has done wonders for my speedy rate of weight loss. I think what happened was that I kick-started my metabolism into high gear through a combo of lots of exercise & eating frequently (5-6 times) throughout the day. Just my experience!

Hope this helps, girl! (-;

Hello Bella Sacha!

I would have to agree VS is the place to go! You can get great bras...my personal favorite, is the Very Sexy Push Up Bra, every girl doesn't mind a little push up
You can also get sized and fitted, just let the sales girl know...they are all too happy to help...spend some money that is.

I just went this weekend and spent way too much $$$, but it's totally worth it, all the bras that I have from VS are still in good shape and last me a very long time. The bras that I have bought from other places fall apart and have wires cutting through...not good.

Anyways, theres my two cents.

(1). I agree -- Victoria's Secret is definitely the place to go! Like spill said, the bras are high quality and last so much longer than any other brand. And, if you hit the sale, they aren't that expensive (or they're at least affordable).

(2). I have no idea on this one! Weight loss is so different for everyone. Some people lose so fast. Others (like me, it seems), lose slowly no matter what they do! But, I think in general that if you workout more, you're more likely to lose weight. That makes sense to me!

1 - I'm going to be the odd woman out here. I refuse to shop at VS. Their stuff is nice, but I think that they're right up there with Barbie on promoting a negative body image. Being one with body image issues, and having a close friend that I watched almost kill herself with an eating disorder, I'm a little hyper-sensitive about the whole thing. I go to Ross or the Leggs, Hanes, Bali outlet stores. I find good, comfy bras that are very pretty and don't cost a fortune (I spend under $15 each )

2 - I also don't think that formula necessarily works. Only because I lowered my calories and exercised my butt off and didn't have nearly the success I've had this time around. I still exercise, though I'm not obsessive about it. I've come to believe that it's not just about calories, but where you're getting the calories from.

I really like bras and underwear from the Gap. It's all super comfy, holds up well, and is usually very simple, which I like. I used to shop at Victoria's Secret, but I have really plain taste in underwear and a lot of the stuff at Vicky's is more elaborate than I'm really looking for.

I love Lane Bryant for bras and panties. Victoria's just doesn't seem to be made for a larger bust, it's just the norm... skinny stuff made bigger without a thought of how it might actually fit.

I'm burning more than taking in and over the past two weeks I've lost one stinkin' pound. I don't think the formula works...
