Talking Weight Loss Rewards

Today I got my reaching-190 reward: two 16 oz. Nalgene water bottles! I've always mocked the use of expensive water bottles, thinking it completely unnecessary. I recently read, however, that when you refill a throw-away bottle many many times, over time they break down & may be leaching plastic chemicals into the water. ANYWAY--that freaked me out a little because I use mine over & over & over....plus they were getting a little nasty from repeated use....so I splurged & treated myself! They come in such pretty colors--mine are yellow & purple.

Anyone else reward themself lately? What did you get?

Jen I have like 6 of those 32oz nalgene water bottles, they are great! I love the fact that I can put a little water in them and throw them in the freezer and their fine.... the unbreakable water bottle no joke! My brother and his friends where "testing" them a while back and they just wouldn't break- amazing! Congrats for hitting 190, I think I'm right behind you. But I'm gonna wait till 180 rolls around for my next reward, need to save $$$.

I've never checked out these Naglene water bottles. Maybe I should... I don't know how many times I've refilled my bottles. I'm sure it's in the hundreds... My boss said he saw a news report where after awhile of re-filling bottles, they gather bacteria and cause the water to be unfit to drink. I guess that's similar to what you heard, Jen. It scared me a little, but I knew I wasn't going to buy bottled water. I have a filter on the tap, so re-filling bottles is the best way to go. Do these Naglene bottles prevent the bacteria problem?

As for rewards, I'm going to wait awhile, too. I'm trying to save some money for Christmas presents. I want to get a shorter haircut and dye my hair a different color. I'm going to wait until I lose a more substantial amount so a shorter style would actually look decent on me. I've always had long hair. Maybe people won't even recognize me with all the weight loss and different hair! (But, that would be a good thing to be totally unrecognizeable from my former, larger self!) Also, I'd love to go shopping for smaller, more stylish clothes when I lose some more weight. New hair and new clothes keep me motivated!!

Jina- know what you mean about not being recognizable! I chopped off my hair (8 inches as you can see) and colored it too. The Nalgene bottles rock, I just make sure to rinse mine out with soap and water each time a use it, but I also throw it in the dishwasher. Except one time I put it on the bottom rack and the lid slid down during the cycle and melted on the heating element, but it only cost me $1.99 to replace the lid!

Default Shopping spree!!!

Speaking of rewards.....

Today my husband & I went out to lunch & then shopping after church--not my reward for a certain weight, but because of the fact that I need new clothes now! It was so fun & I don't remember being that happy in a dressing room in YEARS. I got lots of good stuff on great sales--9 items for $144! I added it up & if I would've gotten them all on regular price (though I wouldn't ever do that!) it would've been $312! Quite a savings.
I got a cute trendy little faded jean jacket, a sweater vest, a chunky rainbow-striped turtleneck sweater, another top, 4 pairs of pants, and a really cute skirt. I'm so excited to have cute stuff in my wardrobe that FITS! Actually, 2 of the pants are a bit too tight to wear in public yet, but I *will* be wearing them nicely in probably a month or so.
Just had to share my fun & successful shopping venture!

Jen: Way to go on the shopping! It's so fun to find good deals!

Where would I find these Naglene water bottles?

Thanks,
Jina

Jina,
Wish I could help you more on the bottles...I got mine at a local "general store" here in Greenville (SC). Maybe you could search online for them, and see if there are any good deals to be found that way....otherwise I'd check any outdoors-y stores in your area.
