20-something with 20-something left until goal

Just wondered if there are any others out there with similar goals that would like to join me in this accountability thread. There will not be any set time to lose by. This is strictly just to check-in with no time constraints. You can post weigh-ins at any time you want, no particular weigh-in day.

I have about 20 more pounds to lose to get to my initial goal weight. Anything I lose from there, great!

Let us support one another.

That's great, skittlesfirehawk! What are you doing to lose weight?

I am utilizing portion control and making sure I stop eating when I feel satisfied, versus eating whatever is on my plate. ;)

skittlesfirehawk 12-14-2014 02:03 PM

I was helathy eating and exercise but now it's just super healthy exercise because I have a broken vertabre in my back.i made it to the 130's but my body like to be evil drop the weight fairly quickly so I'll be 131 by the end of January and then stuck there.im hoping to break the cycle

Claygirl1518 12-14-2014 02:32 PM

I have about 26 more that I wan to lose. Right now I'm at about 193, I want to get down to the 160s, and then anything else I lose is just an added bonus! My weight loss has slowed lately, especially the past week with Xmas parties and me being sick, I haven't been working out and I haven't felt like drinking enough water, and I can definitely tell the difference. Hopefully it will start coming off again soon!

About 25 or so for me!

Ouch! How did you do that to your back? Sounds terribly painful. Rooting for you. :carrot:

I feel the same way. I don't know why I always choose the end of the year to get myself going strong. :D

I'm sure it will come off soon. I think I get so consumed with thinking about time frames that it actually works against me, even if I'm a pound or two away. So I'm looking at this in a new light. I'll get there, when I get there. Feels good!

I'm a US size 12 and just feel really...big. I thought my goal was going to be 140 but its become obvious that I wont be satisfied with that. My real goal is not a weight anyway, I'd like to be a US size 8.

For some reason I'm super resistant to the idea of exercise. lol. I know that i need to do it, I'm just not...doing it. So until i get off my butt and get moving, i expect my weight to drop slowly through calorie counting.

Slow and steady is the way to go! You can do this. I'm the same way, I just need to get in some kind of movement.

DrivenByAmbition 12-17-2014 10:04 PM

Just checking in to see how everyone is doing. I'm still holding strong at 183.9. Not losing motivation, just ready for the next few days to be over.

I put my goal at 120 and I'm 139 now and I still know I need to lose more I'm gonna keep it at 120 but once I get there in pretty sure I'll be moving it down to 105-110

DrivenByAmbition 12-19-2014 04:23 PM

Ultimately I'd love to be 145. I just don't even know if I can make it to 150s let alone 140s

DrivenByAmbition 12-19-2014 10:27 PM

What are you all doing for exercise? I need to move more.

DrivenByAmbition 12-20-2014 12:01 PM

Still 183.9, for almost a week :( Going to have to step it up. My eating has been great.

Claygirl1518 12-20-2014 03:17 PM

191.8 today, weight is slowly coming off.

As far as exercise goes, I've been doing an interval workout on the elliptical for about 45 minutes while I play a video game. It's distracting and I'm sweating by the end! It seems to help with the weight loss, although when I first started working out I hit a huge stall!

Wow, that takes talent. I could not do that the same time. Did that take some getting used to? I just think I'd end up falling forward somehow, hah. :dizzy:

Claygirl1518 12-22-2014 08:01 AM

TOM is on its way some I'm still at 191.8 for now, I hope I have a whoosh after it's over!

DrivenByAmbition
yes, the video games while on the elliptical did take a little getting used to! When I started doing it I was a little.. wobbly at times, but you get used to it, and now I have no problem with it at all, and it's so distracting too. It would be way harder to do 45 minutes without the distraction of the video games that's for sure!

nonameslob 12-22-2014 09:31 AM

DrivenByAmbition - I have 30 pounds left to lose, but I felt compelled to post because our starting weights and current weights are so similar.

It is strange to think that I am beyond the lower half of my weight loss journey. I "only" have 30 pounds left to lose but I know it will be much more difficult than the first 50 has been. I am already smaller than I have ever been as an adult, so this next year will be new territory and I hope I can maintain my motivation through it all.

It's awesome to see so many of you so close to your goals!

You are almost 20 something to go. Welcome :carrot: You've done great so far! I seem to derail myself when I put time frames on things, so this is a new theory for me. Just let myself lose the way I lose, I will get to goal when I get to goal.

Good ole TOM. Mine was rather cruel to me this time around. Didn't get my woosh until day 4, when it's usually Day 3 :)

Yeah, I have trouble doing more than one thing at once. I was that girl in band who could keep in rhythm, but couldn't if I was trying to tap my foot. haha. Some people can do that, no problem, to stay on beat. Not me!

DrivenByAmbition 12-23-2014 05:33 AM

Do you plan to stay on plan this holiday season?

Arg still 138.i stay as close to plan as I can

Not bad. I'm hoping to at least maintain the next few days. Then really get my rear in gear.

Claygirl1518 12-24-2014 10:26 AM

I plan on staying on plan through the holidays, but it makes it easier for us because we aren't having a family get together this year, it will just be me and my husband. However, TOM is going to mess up my weigh ins. I'm hoping that I will still make my new years goal of 189!

Your woosh is on it's way! No worries. :dizzy: I have many family gatherings, but since I am gluten free, I only get vegetables, no mac and cheese, and other other things filled with wheat.

Have a great Holiday!

Merry Christmas to all who celebrate.

Claygirl1518 12-25-2014 07:42 PM

Merry Christmas everyone!

My weight has gone a bit bonkers due to TOM being super evil today (merry xmas today). I weighed in at 192.5 today, hopefully it will all come off soon. I was really good food wise today, 1480 calories total and 45 min workout on the elliptical. I even budgeted my food to have 280 calories of peppermint ice cream for dessert. delicious. I just really want to make my new years goal of 189...

DrivenByAmbition 12-27-2014 09:54 PM

Great job, claygirl, I have not been good this holiday season. I'm done with the sweets and am ready to get my head back in this. Goal is not far away.

bossman 12-27-2014 10:12 PM

Hello All,
so my question is: for those of you that exercise how do you feel? Let me explain. I was walking/jogging 3 miles a day for the entire summer, not a lb budged even with careful eating. So I joined IP, I know that it was against protocol to exercise during the first 2 wks, I have a very active life on the farm anyhow. I asked my coach if I could start back to it. Her advice was NO. If I go back to that, causing myself to "huff n puff" I would get more hungry and potentially fall off the diet; craving food! Furthermore, she said that exercise would NOT initiate more wt loss, just hunger! That's what I mean, do any of you feel starved craving more calories???? thanks all

This may be a question that could be better answered in the IP part of the forum. When I exercise, I eat back part of what I burn because that is what works best for me weightloss wise. You cannot do that using IP protocol. They have a particular system that works the way they've calculated.

I went up to 183.5 the past few days and now I'm back to 182.3. Phew. I will call that a win to be the weight that I started the holiday season. Now to get back on track, no sweets.

:dizzy:

Claygirl1518 12-28-2014 03:45 PM

bossman:

I started exercising a few months ago and it has helped my weightloss. However, I'm exercising for health, not necessarily to lose weight. I eat back about half of the calories I burn. You can't do intense exercise and not eat back anything, you would probably get too hungry, not to mention you need to provide protein and carbs to help your muscles repair after exercise. I do feel better exercising though, it helps me feel strong.

I don't know much about IP, but I know it's very strict, so you should probably stick with that for a while. Maybe when you're on a less strict phase you could add in exercise?

cantgetenoughchoc 12-29-2014 07:17 AM

Hi! I think I've got about 20 pounds to goal!

I'm doing calorie counting, with clean eating this time rather than squeezing chocolate into my calorie count :P, and exercise 3-4 times a week. :)

I hope this works! I'm so sick of feeling unhappy about my weight.

What's worse is I don't think 20lb will be enough, from looking at weights and body shapes I've seen on tumblr, but I'm just sticking to 20lb for now :P.
