Nature's Path pumpkin flax granola
Soy milk (although I've been thinking of trying coconut) Pure Protein protein bars (20g protein and maybe 7g sugar per bar) Greek yogurt cups for afternoon snacks at work Fruit for a morning snack at work--I've been branching out lately beyond apples and bananas to strawberries, plums, pineapple and kiwi, too! Grape tomatoes, baby carrots, and snow or sugar snap peas, which I eat with my lunch Flat Out multigrain flax wraps Sometimes nuts or a sweet treat (Laura's Wholesome Junk Food cookie bite-lettes are DELICIOUS) And dinners tend to be recipes from the Internet that include lean protein, veg and, more often than not, whole grain something (pasta, bread, quinoa, rice, etc.). That changes to week; I'm working on getting 10-12 yummy healthy recipes with about 4-5 servings each so I can make two or three of them over a few days and then eat the leftovers for another week until they're gone. :D It's so much easier to eat a healthy dinner when it's already made. |
Meat - usually pork and ground beef. Some lamb or steak if it's in the budget (all local, BTW and top quality though not completely grass fed)
Eggs - About 5 dozen per week. Fresh veggies (also local when in season) Frozen berries Unsalted butter Coffee (Mostly for DH) 2 cans of coconut milk per month (Love this stuff) |
I always get Sarahlee delight bread, it's 45 calories per slice. Best bread I've found calorie wise and it's really good !

Changes as I discover what works but at the moment; leeks, cabbage, carrots and potatoes. Lean meat for sandwiches and lettuce. Semi skimmed milk and some sort of nut to add protein to breakfast. Small bars Dairy milk chocolate and Special K mini bites for treats. Like picking so grapes are handy!

I went grocery shopping last night and got a healthy haul for $40. I tend to vary what I buy based on sales, though. There were some really good prices at the store last night!
From what I remember, I got: -1 whole chicken -pack of ground turkey -pack of chicken tenderloins -3 cans of tuna -asparagus, 2 avocados, cucumber, 2 sweet potatoes, red onion, green beans -3 oranges, box of strawberries -6 packs of steamfresh veggies (one of the biggest obstacles to my eating more veggies is laziness. If I am lazy I don't want to prep veg - so these are very handy) -box of Kashi golean crunch |
