Rough Two Days

  • Well, it's been a rough two days. Yesterday I worked a 12 hour shift and today I worked a 13. These long days are just bad. I eat and eat and eat and eat, just because I'm bored and because there are cookies at work. I probably had 6 cookies today I'm also so darn tired after these shifts that I have no energy to work out. It's ok though. I still have 3 days left to get back on track before weigh in day on Monday....just needed to get it out a bit.
  • Good luck getting back on track.
  • thank you
    Thank you
  • Those shifts are killer! Of course you're eating cookies. Your body is tired!! Good luck.
  • Are you standing when you work?

12 hours on your feet is enough of a workout for anyone =P

    This!

Not to mention, your body needs adequate rest to lose weight.

Don't beat yourself up over it (as tempting as it is). Get a good night's sleep and start fresh again tomorrow!
  • 6 cookies didn't really hurt anybody who stands on their feet all day, but the whole bag did!

when you are a) tired b) hungover c) working late (basically any state of tired) your body craves carbs. a salad is not going to satisfy you, simply because your body needs to be DOING WORK (aka processing carbs) for it to maintain awakeness. on these days, why not pack yourself a bag of popcorn to munch on? carby, low cal, and you can account for it!
  • totally know what your going through, long days are not a friend to the waistline. If you are quite active at work, maybe start wearing a pedometer, you'd be surprised just how active you are. I walk 18,000 steps in my average 8hr shift
  • When times are crazy, I rollercoaster with weight and part of the reason is because I don't have time to breathe and have time to figure out ways to destress without food, or to find filling and low cal food that will satisfy me so that I can keep going. Even if you gain or stall, please don't be too hard on yourself-good for you for going on despite the difficulties.
  • I agree with a lot of the comments above, lack of rest is horrible for cravings and maybe plan some food ahead of time for your long shifts that will satisfy you but not throw you off. 6 cookies is simply 6 cookies, you ate them and you move on and focus on the positives.
