quiet ballerina I do!! I figured get it out of the way since theres so much going on and so much stuff to focus on...lol Thanks!!! Im really excited about it and I hope I get it.. the building has an exercise room as well so that would help with my weight loss... especially since I cant get to a gym now and have to do all my working out at home

torito yes they are very frustrating... but according to him after our visit he said I lost 9lbs since ive been there last... so im quite please with myself... he also said he was going to keep me on the same meds (bonus!) which theyre a tad high and will help with my weight loss as well... im determined to get down to 215 this month if it kills me... I know its not much but i just cant break the plateau so it will be an accomplishment. Haha and thanks should be an interesting hour....

.... I want an elliptical sooo bad ive seen them on sale for like $299 and $399 so i might ask for it as an xmas gift and get the whole fam to chip in on it lol

I might try to see it more as a personal investment rather than money spent. I think a change in perspective all around might be in order.

Hello!

It's been really warm today and it's going to be as well tomorrow, so I decided to go for a run today. It was really nice, even though I can only run 2 miles before feeling really pooped. My boyfriend is going for a run with me tomorrow, so hopefully I'll feel better...though I'm in more shape than he is for running!! I'm SO going to kick his butt with the annual 5K we run in July! I did well with eating yesterday, and mostly well today. I had everything counted up, including my chicken caesar salad I had for dinner...but OF COURSE my mom had to order deep fried pickles. I was starving, so I had three. So because of that I might have gone over my daily allowance by 100 or so....I did burn more calories than what I had entered...so who knows. Stupid pickles.

I also went into Philly this weekend to do a test run of my new commute starting this coming monday. During my test drive...I passed by love park! So I had to get my picture taken! (I'm sorry if it's big!!)

Thanks everyone for the kind words. I know I can count on all of you for support, it just stinks when I'm so busy that I don't even touch my computer for days...so that's days that I don't have time to come on here for support. Those are the days that I just wish I could turn to my mom or boyfriend and express how I feel. That's what's so crummy.

I promise I'll catch up on personals. I am reading everything and lurking around....It's just been crazy lately so I don't have time to play official catch up until the weekends. So..on saturday, be prepared for a HUGE post

sammalamma when you cant get on here for days ...may i make a suggestion? i know it sounds corny and completely dumb but why dont you stick post-its around the house with great quotes, inspiring quotes, things that will make you feel better about yourself or just everything in life.... stick it on the fridge and the mirror in the bathroom on a book you like to read... wherever... or you could keep a journal

sammalamma, I had NO idea that logo came from a park! That's very cool that you and your boyfriend do a 5k together. I'd love it if mine wanted to run one with me; maybe if Run for Your Life ever makes it out our way, I can convince him to do that.

leighish, that's really smart. So much of successful weight loss and maintenance is a changing of perspectives and attitudes rather than calories in and out alone. I feel like that's what I didn't change the last two times I lost weight, and now I'm having to do it again.

candice, your first ever kids' birthday party! Just you wait, it's all downhill from here. You will be attending EIGHT MILLION birthday parties for the next ten to thirteen years.

Nothing much going on here. Ate like a lunatic last night--manicotti, garlic bread, cheesecake--and still managed to come in under maintenance.

I've got a deal with myself (and have had from day one): I can eat whatever I want so long as I log it using Livestrong.com's MyPlate. This results in me almost always eating at or under my calorie goal for a 1lb/week loss. However, this week, with Zara's illness and my anxiety so unbelievably high, I took Monday off from the gym and may eat at maintenance for perhaps one more day. At some point in the next day or two, I'll start to cope with what's going on and eating at loss will take priority again. But I've barely slept in a few days, and I'm having muscle twitches all over my body. This stuff is CRAZY.

The good news is, I think I'm just about over the coping hump. I was good this morning until the cat wouldn't eat her prescription kidney diet food, but I'm going out at lunch to buy her low-phosphorus, low-protein foods she'll actually eat and after she chows down on that tonight I'll feel significantly better.

If not, I'm going to punt her across the apartment.

Don't worry, I won't hurt her. My apartment is very small.

Candice: that's a wonderful suggestion, I'd have to keep it within my room though, or it might be considered "anorexic like". I'm going to start searching for some good things!

Bopbot: yup! It's a park. Behind the statue is a fountain...it's just too cold for it to be on. And aaaalllllll the way behind me is the art museum...those famous steps Rocky ran up!

bopbot lol haha i dont mind i love kids and parties so i will welcome them!!! My best friend is a vet and she also had cat problem similar to yours and she said to wean the cat off its old food on to the new kidney food....

lyrical Hello and Welcome!

sammalamma glad to help!! and im guessing you mean considered "anorexic" by your family?? but either way even if its in your room stick them everywhere... on a shirt in your closet, in a book you read as mentioned... on the inside flap of your wallet... some place youll always be guaranteed to catch a glimpse and keep ya going through the day

So had my sisters birthday last it was good to see everyone and I had one small piece of cake and a tiny scoop of ice cream so I dont think it did too much damage is a matter of fact im down .5lb since yesterday lol other then that just the normal hustle and bustle of everyday life over here... I think its going to be in the 50s again today if not higher... I know next week its going to be 60 on monday and 63 on tuesday and 68 on Wednesday so I am DEFINITELY looking forward to warm weather We were supposed to get some Northern Lights effect last night due to a solar storm from the sun but it was so cloudy we didnt see anything Hopefully we can catch a glimpse in the next couple days before its done! Thats all for now hope everyone has a good day

Quiet Ballerina Thanks! How are you doing this week?

torito Thank you! Ooh enjoy the hot yoga. It's meant to be good for weightloss anyway and yoga makes you feel pretty good so I'd say it's a great combination!

JellyMae87 Welcome I'm pretty new here too but I'm finding it super encouraging.

SammaLamma I love that photo! And well done on the running.. seriously I can run for like 20 seconds haha

candice1022 It was too cloudy here too.. although for the past few months people have seen them on the horizon from the north coast. I'd love to see them! And yeah our bodies can handle some nice stuff, I guess the more we get used to small/more normal sizes

How is everyone else?

Eugh. I finished that round of antibiotics but they weren't strong enough to kill the infection. I'm already allergic to 2 types of antibiotics so I was given another type, a really strong one for when antibiotics have failed the first time. Within the hour I was breaking out in hives and starting to swell up, red painful skin.. it was horrible.. Luckily I had antihistamines in the house.. I always try to have some on me incase I get a bad insect bite or if somebody else does too.

Anyway, had to go to one of those emergency out of hours Doctors and now I'm on 6 steroids a day, a new antibiotic that I take twice a day and antihistamines at night.. I'm going to bloat up, get spotty and twitchy apparently haha.. sounds great

Good morning!

Day light savings time...ugh. Of course we lose an hour of sleep, and I go to a new externship placement tomorrow that results with me having to get up an hour earlier anyway...I'm going to be SO tired tomorrow!

Friday was my last day at my school placement. I'm beyond bummed!! I'm going to miss all of my students! I was surprised with lovely cards, and a bag that had all of my student's hand prints on them, and the bag said "you touched our hearts". I almost cried!
Anyway, that day ended up turning my weekend in to a bust workout wise.
When I was done for the day on friday, I ended up going out to lunch and beers with some of the school staff, so I was too full to go to the gym, and then I went out for the night with friends. It was a night of celebration!

Yesterday, I felt so crummy and had ZERO energy. Eating wise, I was fine until dinner. My mom and I went grocery shopping and bought all of this healthy food. By the time we were done shopping, it was 7 at night, so we decided to go to this place called The Melt Down. It's a GRILLED CHEESE place! Of all bad things to eat, but my goodness was it good! I got a brie and pear grilled cheese. The bread had honey butter on it. OOOOH NOM. My mom got this BLT type of grilled cheese, with a garlic butter to dip in. Clearly this place is the healthiest out there! But it was worth it.

So today I'm back on track! I'm making this quinoa breakfast oatmeal type of thing, and it's only 200 calories. It has milk, brown sugar, cinnamon, and blueberries in it. Then...I'm going to the gym!! I'm making chicken pot pies for dinner tonight that are 300 calories each. I got this betty crocker cookbook...all of their recipes are 300 calories or less! They have some really yummy things in there!

LeilaJay: Oh that stinks big time!! Hopefully the steroids will help along with the new antibiotic!

Candice: yeah, my mom thinks some of the things I do are considered anorexic like, when they're not. She has a completely different mindset with all of this. She's finally backed off though because she knows that I love food to much to ever starve myself! So jealous you can see northern lights! They must look so beautiful! I heard about the solar flare. They said it was supposed to effect the radios, but it never did.

bopbot: I hope everything works out with your kitty! Its a shame for a 6 year old cat to have that many problems.

leighish welcome! If you hate running why do you want to start running? The key to keeping to a program is finding something you enjoy! I don’t really like running, but I love the feeling after a run so basically I love running!

quiet I don’t know how hot this studio cranks up the heat to, I’m too nervous to look it up. I’ve never tried it before either, and have wanted to but just never did. With my brother being able to give me these sessions I have no excuse not to. Except right at the moment, my sister in law borrowed my yoga matt and decided to never give it back, plus my brother said it gets HOT so wear short shorts and a sports bra – well no one wants to see that yet!
Yay for new equipment! I have a treadmill in the basement, but unfortunately so much other sh!t is down there its unusable at the moment. I don’t like working out at home because I find it way too easy to make excuses since the comfy couch is just upstairs. Good for you!

Candice I hope you have a good time at the party! I loved when my nephews were little going to their parties – now that they’re 8 and 9 I’m no longer invited haha
On my bucket list is to go to Alaska to see the northern lights. I love them, I remember when I was little and we were visiting Ontario (I was born there, but moved away when I was 3, but returned every summer) and they were ever so faint I thought it was the coolest thing ever

bopbot good for you for logging everything! And keeping it under maintenance. Hope kitty feels better soon

Samantha you look amazing!!
Good for you for healthy meals and getting to the gym! You can do it! Though that grilled cheese place sounds amazing… I might just have to make one for lunch tomorrow.

Welcome lyrica

leila oh my goodness that sounds awful! I hope you get better soon

I’m now officially on reading break – I have so much catching up to do so I gave myself a schedule of one course per day so by the end of the week I’ll have everything done. Well yesterday didn’t go so good, I literally did NOTHING. I had all my books open, and the online content, and I just kept checking 3FC, and other time waster websites. I’ve done slightly better today, got almost all of one course done but of course I’m tackling the easy ones first. It’s not like I have to write a paper, or study for 2 midterms, oh right, I do
My brother (who moved up north with his family) called and said my one nephew (who I raised for 3 years while he was over seas/had back surgery, and who I had for the summer because his new wife is lazy) asked if he could come visit next week (their second week of spring break) and spend it with me/my parents. I wanted to say yes so badly, but I’m back at school so there would be no one to watch him during the day. I’m going to talk to my parents, because if they can take him Monday and Tuesday, I can take him weds and thurs if I work out a deal with my sister that she watches him while I’m at school for my short days (3 hours) then go to the gym, then I’ll watch her boys while she can go to the gym but I also have the midterms that week so I don’t know if it’s even a good idea.

Hey ladies! How is everyone?! It seems like it's been forever since I've been on. School is keeping me SOOOOO busy. We are on Spring Break this week, thank goodness. I needed the break. Since my lesson planning is done, I'm planning on stopping by more often. I've been getting lots of exercise at the elem. school, so I'm still losing. Slowly, but surely. I bought my first pair of size 16 jeans yesterday! I can't remember the last time I bought a size 16 in jeans. It's been over 10 years ago at least.

torito - I don't see how you have time to even get on 3fc...with all those classes. LOL! Good for you for keeping up with everything though!

samma - I know how you feel about leaving your students. I had to change classes last month and I cried when I had to tell my students that I would be in a different classroom. You should have seen their little faces.

Leila - wow! Hope you get better soon!!

lyrical - HEY! Welcome to the chat thread!

Candice - Do you lay Aiden down when you are washing his hair? Just curious. I have an 11-month old and I've just started letting her sit in the tub without anything around her. We used the baby tub for a while and then a blow up duck tub that sat in the big tub. I have not laid her down though.

leila jey- yea we didnt get to see them... well I didnt anyways the next couple nights after I checked but saw nothing That really sucks that your allergic to soo many things... hopefully they get that figured out soon so that you can take something without breaking out and looking like a puff.

sammalamma- I know I feel ya on the losing an hours sleep -_- especially when I get no sleep as it is with my son... what exactly is an externship or was that a typo? That sounds sooo sweet what your kiddies did for you I probably would have cried im such a big baby when it comes to stuff like that :') The grilled cheese place sounds yummy... and no worries treating yourself is fine... and you worked out now so its all good.. I havent had a grilled cheese in so long.. my son eats them once in awhile for lunch and i nibble at part of the crust i cut off for him haha Im not a big oatmeal fan but the chicken pot pies sound sooo good. Im going grocery shopping tomorrow going to do some batch cooking this week.. some homemade chilli perhaps and maybe some crock pot stew... mmm sucks about your mom being that way... but good thing she knows you would never go to the extreme and starve yourself or worse become like bulemic or something...

torito- lol sucks that your not invited anymore... I would go anyways haha bring a gift and play with all the kids im such a kid at heart. Thats crazy that you say that because on my bucket list is to go on one of those Alaskan cruises and see the northern lights haha You must have lived very north in Ontario cause we cant see anything here... but then again were in the most southern part of ontario (Windsor) I hated reading week when I was in school I got absolutely NOTHING done but i had a similar plan to yours one course per day and all general stuff and papers the last two days... didnt go out and party or anything like but wound up spending my time on facebook and msn chatting with all my friends lmao. Hopefully you can work something out with someone so that you can see your nephew and everyones good

Well I cranked up my workouts everyday currently i was doing 30 minutes or more of Hip Hop Abs everyday but Sunday and walking with my son when I could so Ive decided to add another workout to my day .. to do either right after hip hop abs or split it up... omg let me tell you I just did 30 minutes of the HHA and 55 minutes of this other workout and im reading to hit the floor and die... the new one was so fast paced and you needed to have so much balance and flexibility which isnt the easiest thing when your 100lbs overweight... but I managed to do it and only lose my balance a couple times... but let me tell I sweat like I have never sweat before in my life -_- its harder then the hip hop abs cardio.... i have to keep this up tho... Sundays I have off from both workouts and its my "cheat" day or "relaxed" day so hopefully the lbs fall off this month..

Wednesday Im going out to lunch to East Side Marios for a couple friends birthdays who I used to work with at the factory.. so I went on their menu online ahead of time and they have this special All you can eat salad and bread loaf and you get either a personal pan pizza or bowl of pasta.. So I figure I can fill up on salad... have a slice of bread and let the table eat the rest as well as my son and the pasta ill split the bowl down the middle eat half feed my son some out of the other half and bring the rest home for him... it comes with a drink so I can get a diet soda and water for myself and it comes with dessert but I was thinking id just give it to one of the birthday girls and skip dessert... or maybe take one bite and let them share it hahaha ( they make incredible brownie cakes) SO it should be a good time havent seen them since xmas and were going to go hangout at the park for a bit and talk and catch up...

Other then that Im going to clean my house up if I can move after I leave this seat and probably relax for the rest of the day... might go for a walk later.. its nice out like 62 but was raining earlier so I cant bring my son to the park but we could go for a walk... well see... and ill plan the rest of my menu for the week or next couple weeks

Anyways hope everyones having a wonderful Monday

No I dont lay him down because I dont want water to get in his ears... He already gets ear infections very easily and it sort of runs in the family I guess I could say my brother had very bad ear problems.. lots of fluid in his ears and had to have them drained... cause a lot of learning problems for him in school ... and even prevented him from learning to read properly until he was older... so no I dont I try to lean him back a bit and pour it over his head draining off the back of his head.. but he still squirms quite a bit so I took a suggestion of a friend and used a baby brush and wet his hair that way.... scrubbed then got as much of the soap out as i could again by using the brush and water then I only needed to do a couple pours over his head with the cup to rinse the remainder which seems to be helping
