Default Help =/

Need one of those swift kicks in the behind. I've fallen off track and trying very hard to get back to it. Feels like I'm never going to lose this weight and I have no one at home to support me. I feel like I'm losing the battle with my own weight. Why did I let myself get this big.... anyone else fallen off track? What do you do to get back motivated???

Ive not fallen off track persay but I am stuck at about the same weight you are at :\ Its frustrating. In the past what has helped me is knowing I needed to do this to inspire others. Like my mom and sisters, friends etc. I also wanted to take a ballroom dance class and I told myself I couldn't till I got to 250. I am 259 atm and my class is scheduled for fall term. Will I be 250 by then? If my body continues like this then probably not but hey...Im 60 lbs down I think I deserve a reward You will get through this! I know it. Just keep plugging alone, start recording food etc again if you have fallen off that even if it starts out half assedly. You will get there you WILL I know how you feel right now it feels like I will never get there but I have to!

I completely understand where you're coming from. I don't have much support at home either and space/funds are limited to try and keep myself up by myself. I've fallen off several times but with some pretty big changes happening in my life I'm truly determined this time to do it right. Usually my motivator is that I've done this before. It can be defeating when you realize you keep tripping yourself up, but knowing that I've been able to keep trying is what keeps me going. I think I'm finally at a point where I'm just so determined to not slip up again that "failure" isn't an option. That's what I'm aiming for this go round. I'm new to this site but people seem very very genuine, so I'm hoping I can find a community here to help keep me going. You can do it!!

Thanks for the replies. I feel like that scale just teases me shows me a 259 and then a 264 the next day even though I was doing everything right. That's my problem THE SCALE! I've tried telling myself to stay off of it but it's gotten to be habit. At my current weight right now to lose weight what has worked for everyone else on the calories? How many should I have a day to really start seeing results? I know I need to lose this weight but it seems like so much is just holding me back I want to feel like someone is there for me, and know what I am going through at the moment. I find that here but it would be nice to have that at home too.

The only people that know what I am really going through are on this forum. The people around me have all been on diets, but have regained all the weight they lost.
So they support my weight loss, but then tell me not to throw out all my baggy clothes because I will gain all the weight back anyway.

They are absolutely no help at all for the long term.
I plan on going on maintainence once I reach my goal. My friends and family don't even know what maintainence means. They can't figure out that this is a lifetime endeavor to stay skinny. All they know is yoyo dieting.
And they won't go to this site.

So what's the use trying to get support from them? I made up my mind not to discuss dieting with them because of their defeatist attitudes.

I track my calories on LoseIt.com and I eat 1575 per day. That causes a weight loss of 1.5 pounds per week. But I am always over on the calories, so I lose 1 pound every week. 50 in one year. I am happy with that. I had a problem keeping on my diet until I started using the tracking on LoseIt.com.

And I joined a couple of challenges here. That keeps me going too.

Best of luck to you!

YOU KNOW IT’S TIME TO DIET AND EXERCISE WHEN......

You get winded just saying the words "ten-kilometer run."

I always lose weight when I track my calories and make sure I'm exercising daily. I seem to lose easily when I eat between 1400-1700 a day (or average them out over a week), but when I started my WL I could eat between 1800-2000 and still lose steadily. The problem comes with me keeping on track and not getting lazy about it, because that's when I don't do well. I need to stay on this site for support.

I have no support at home either. My husband likes me to be 'soft' as he puts it. I have to ask him how long he wants me to be alive, and how soon he's planning on building a wheelchair ramp and when he's going to start weight lifting so that he can get me in and out of bed when my joints give out. Otherwise I also don't discuss the issue unless he brings it up or tries to push his food or extra food on me.

You are welcome to come join us in the 20 something mommas thread! It's been motivating to me!
