Default Exercising while congested?

Okay. So I have a cold (or something... haven't quite figured out exactly what it is yet. I'm just praying it's not bronchitis lol) and I'm pretty durn congested. I don't feel miserable, though. Like - aside from the congestion and minor sore throat I'm quite fine. I want to exercise, because it seems silly not to when I don't feel miserable - but moving too much does make breathing a little difficult for me. Soo - I was wondering if anyone knew of any good ways to get some cardio in without getting my breathing up too much. (Aside from like, walking which I'll do if I have to, but I'm not really a fan haha.)

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend.

I too am congested and have flu like symptoms but not the full blown flu. My trainer basically says the body needs to rest during this time. I went to work out the first day I was sick and I regretted it because I was immediately worse later on that day.

Not sure of any cardio you can do without breathing fast.

Maybe some gentle yoga? But really, you might feel fine now, but your body's definitely fighting something off and it needs energy to do that. Resting a little now might prevent you from getting worse in the future.

Maybe go for a nice, slow, long walk? And maybe configure your route such that you can cut it short and return home if your body says "no!"

I've had a cold for the last 5 weeks. I can tell you that I felt fine too at first. I worked out and went on normal- Now this weekend it all caught up! Let your body rest even just for a day or two.

sometimes exercising can help....I'm sure I read somewhere (either shape or fitness mag) that it's ok to exercise with a cold and sometimes it can boost your immune system. I still exercise when I've got a cold (obviously not when it's full blown head cold/stay in bed type of ill). Usually it's not as intense but I'll still manage 45 minutes on the elliptical.

I had a virus a few weeks ago - I took 2 days off during the worst of it, then I went back to the gym. I didn't work out as hard as I usually do, but I still got some sweating in, and it honestly helped.

Granted, I just had nose congestion - and when I worked out it kind of went away - but there was no wheezing or chest congestion. Generally that's a bad thing, and you should probably rest if that's what's going on.
