Good morning! Hope all is well! It's been overall a pretty bad week. But I think I always say that. Weigh in tonight. Yikes. I won't be surprised if I'm back in the 180s. But I'm okay with that. I had a terrible weekend, so hopefully my 3 liters of water a day are doing some good. I made a yummy crock pot Thai Peanut Pork yesterday. I'm even going to add a picture, that's how excited I am about it.
http://i953.photobucket.com/albums/a...PeanutPork.jpg BF loved it. He basically worships me now. Well, he did before, but now he knows I can cook. Apparently guys like that. Kay - well, do the shoes match?? Bex - it was about 5pm when you posted that last night here in California. zan - yay for having a job! Kim - an update on "eating clean": I still like it. Went out Tuesday night (totally unprepared and angry with life...) and ate a pizza...well half a cpk pizza (14 points)..I felt awful after. So I just need to not let my emotions rule what I eat. I'm going to a party on Saturday and I'll be bringing my own cooler with food (it's a beach party so that won't be too weird). Have a lovely Thursday! |
A beach party sounds awesome, Ade!
I might just have to put one together myself. It keeps slipping my mind that it is basically available pretty much year round here. ;) Mmmmm that pork looks tasty! |
To be honest, I'm not a beach girl. I grew up an hour from the coast, so it's always been there. But I'm not throwing the party and I've never been to this particular beach, so it should be fun. I'll get to see my family, and that's always fun. And it was tasty! YUM!

Thanks, Bex and Zan. Lots of pictures will be taken so I will be sure to share.
Ade- I wont know if the shoes match until next Thursday. My sister is in Michigan and I don't fly in till next week. That dish looks great! I LOVE peanut Thai stuff. I miss the beach! Being from Michigan I am used to nice freshwater and sandy beaches everywhere. Now that I am in California I have found that the Nor cal beaches aren't worth it since you can't get in the water (at least I wont since it is fricking freezing!) and all the lakes are dammed so there aren't beaches. Just rocky muddy areas near the water. I really REALLY hope to spend some time on a beach when I go back home. |
OMG I am so excited I have to share!! I do some crafty stuff and sell on Etsy (THIS IS NOT AN ADVERTISEMENT) Everything thing I make is upcycled in some way. Well the advertising company for one of the name brands I used asked me if they could send me free stuff so I could make more upcycled stuff from their product. Wooohooo!!! That is just too cool. Of course it has to be a snack food... lol But I plan on bringing them into work... I just use the box for my crafty stuff. Anyway, I was just super excited to be contacted by a huge brand names advertising co. SO FUN!
|
Kay - that's awesome! Can you give us (me) an example of something you've upcycled? Sounds neat!
|
ade- I will PM you. If anyone else is curious feel free to PM me. I just don't want it to seem like I am trying to advertise on here since it's a big no no.
|
Thank you! I didn't think of that! Very beautiful, btw.
|
Thanks! :D

I'm down 1.6 pounds this week! My body is liking eating clean!! :-)

WTG ade!

Thanks!
So I've decided to make it my goal this weekend to track everything. I know that should be an all the time goal, but I'm not gonna lie, I don't do it. If I slip-up, I don't track it. I'm determined to track everything, even if I just have to guess on the points. At our meeting last night we talked about bites, licks, and tastes (BLT). A lot of the women there count a BLT as a point. Or if it was something horrible, 2 points. So basically, I'm working on holding myself accountable this week. It'll be interesting to see how much I go over. Or perhaps I'm just beating myself up for nothing and not actually going over. hmm...I'll keep you posted! |
I think it's time to stop daily weighing. It's totally depressing. I think I'm figuring out why WW only weighs you once/week. lol
Anywho, I started Power 90 today and I will finish the 90 days 2 days after my husband's 30th birthday. Looks like I'll be looking good to take him on a nice date! :D |
I agree about daily weighing! I'm so all over the place. I can go from 179-173 and back within a couple of days. I bought a scale at the start of this, but I haven't used it this week. It also makes the official weigh in more drastic (instead of losing .2 pounds each day or whatever). Different things work for different people. Some people have to weigh everyday or they will fall off track. Other get discouraged. I'm trying to not focus so much on the number, or I will get discouraged. Last night at my meeting, a woman was talking about how she only weighs in every six months. She knows that if she does it every week, she will fall off track. She either feels the need to celebrate a loss with 6 donuts (her works exactly) or make herself feel better about a gain with 6 donuts. I couldn't wait that long, but the point is we are all different and you have to figure out what works for you! Have you taken your measurements? That's the best. because even with weight gain (muscle), you'll still see results!

Hi Ladies,
Greetings from Georgia! This is day 6 of my professional development trip, and to be honest, I have definitely had more enjoyable travel experiences. But, at least in terms of diet and exercise I'm doing okay. My 5K race was this past Sunday and it went horribly. We got there late and I wasn't able to warm up and had to sprint to get in front of the truck picking up the cones, so I was winded from the very beginning. It was really hot, and hilly, and I had to do some walking. My time was 35:37. On the other hand, it really makes me want to sign up for another one so I can do better next time. I've been surprised at the amount of good food choices available. At our first hotel there was always fruit and oatmeal and light n' fit yogurt for breakfast, and at the meeting I'm at now they have TONS of snack breaks with all kinds of delicious looking pastry and candies and this afternoon there was a freezer of ice cream bars, but I've been pretty good about sticking to the fruits and vegetables. So it's not always easy, but I think I'm doing okay. Last night's dinner was 2 glasses of white wine and an ice cream cone, but I only went over my daily point by 4, and this morning I was right back on that treadmill, hangover be damned! I was so excited to get below 135 before I left, and I'm really hoping to stay there. I hope you've all been having a good week. Ade, that's awesome about the 1.4 lbs, and Kay, congrats on the gorgeous dress and the interest in your crafting. I would love to see what you make! Hickory, I actually don't own a scale, so I only weigh at the meetings, and would highly recommend it. |
