Yeah. I can remember misjudging "a little" whenever my mom asked for something. She'd always hand it back to me saying, "I only want a quarter of that" or half, etc. That's the best way to do it in my opinion, as I learned what she wanted portion-wise, so eventually I didn't have to take it back to take some off her plate. Maybe you can train your SO? *giggle* :D

kcx - have fun on your vacation!
ade - it's good you can overlook the probable current scale nudge TOM will give you and focus on the rewards next week :) And happy bday to your little sis! KayNicole - Funny how we eat things we aren't all that fond of because we feel we ought to (it's my birthday, of COURSE i should have cake! even though I don't like it much...). Good on you for resolving not to have anymore! zan - GOOD LUCK on the WI tonight. Ok so calling people before trying new things totally pays off. I decided to call the Y where the aquafit class is just to prod for information and give myself more motivation to go, and it totally paid off! So the way it works is that a monthly membership is $50, plus a one-time $75 joiner's fee. A month of aquafit would be $50 but then I would not get access to all the facility. Starting Monday they are running a special to waive the joiner's fee, so I said maybe I'd wait til then to come check out aquafit, and they said they'd leave me a guest pass at the front so I could try the class tonight for freeeee! :D :D The best deal I could have gotten otherwise would be a $30 week pass to tide me over. Now I HAVE to go tonight, the lady at the front desk is expecting me :D I'm pumped! I have a feeling I'll be surrounded by little old ladies but I am cool with that :) |
Thanks for the support ladies. I stopped by home at lunch and my husband had just gotten home from the store. I took one look at his bags and told him he is not allowed to go shopping anymore. I saw 3... 3 bags of chips! I stopped even trying to look at the rest when I saw that. After offering me a bag (which I turned down) He said not to worry that he was taking them to work. Then when I started asking if he planned on sharing them with coworkers or just hoped they wouldn't eat them he admitted that he had planned on hiding them in the house. Ugh! I wouldn't be nearly as hard on him about this stuff if it weren't for the fact that HE was the one that got me started on this journey. I probably would have let myself go a little longer if not for him. So why is he bringing home such crap? He said he was sorry and would try to do better. I know he is a boy and will never actually get it but geesh. I used that as my opportunity to tell him the cake will be trashed if he doesn't eat it because I am not eating anymore! Life would be so much easier if I did all the shopping. :D

Hi Everyone!
Kay, Happy Belated Birthday! Sorry to hear about all the cake drama. Sometimes the Y-chromosomes just don't think things through all the way... I like how busy it's been in here. I'm trying really hard to get back into the swing of school, and not constantly dick around on the internet, but it is totally an uphill battle. I have my WI tonight, which I'm not looking forward to. As I said, I did a little more drinking than I should have while I was on vacation, and my period is late and I am SUPER bloated, like to the point where it is uncomfortable, so I can't imagine the scale saying anything good. But, I am going to try to keep an open mind and not let it get me discouraged. Ade, I hope yours goes well! Abluvion, Aquafit sounds like so much fun. I actually love exercising with old ladies. There are a bunch of them (not so old, but late 50's early 60's) in my favorite yoga class and they are all super nice and encouraging, and way better at yoga than I am. |

My mom is trying to get my dad to lose weight, and when she showed him a proper portion of Cheerios, his jaw dropped. He likes to think of half the box as a serving... Ab: I love swimming. It is such a great workout! Have fun tonight! Miss_Genghis: good luck with your weigh in! |
Can I just say, that although this is a random thought, I would DIE without Vitamuffins?! I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE the Deep Chocolate Vitamuffin and I eat one nearly every day.
That is all....go about your business. lol |
Hi friends. Skipping personals as I'm in the car. Lost 2.4 this week. I'm baffled. Part of me thinks I'm dehydrated because it is 105 degrees and I only drank one of my normal three liters of water. But another part (my mom) says bloaty Tom cancels that out. Who knows? Kinda funny how I can't just accept my loss and say whoa, I worked hard this week and earned that! I've never done that. Ohhh ohhh I forgot!! Hit my 5% loss. Have a good night! I'll catch up tomorrow!
|
Yay congrats ade! I love it when that happens. Although it always gets me nervous for next week :P Go with it babe!
I have been MIA lately. Its my uni holidays but I have spent everyday so far at uni working on assignments. So much for a holiday?! Gr! I have been super on plan the last few days. Really really proud of myself actually. I am allowed 23 points and have been having 18 to 20 most days so should have a good loss this week. Haven't been doing much exercise to be honest but I have been walking a fair bit. Will hopefully make it to Zumba on Sunday. I am really excited. In NZ we used kgs to measure weight and I am currently 100.4kg. Next week I will be under 100kg for the first time in about 2 and a half years (if all goes to plan:P) I will cry. Happy tears. Ok should get back to my uni work. My flatmates are off for the week. I am SO excited cos they annoy me like crazy. My bf and I have the place to ourselves tonight so I want to get everything done before he gets home from work ;) Tehe. |
Congrats on the awesome loss Ade! And Hickory, the chocolate Vitamuffin Tops are sooo good. When I want an extra decadent snack sometimes I eat one with peanutbutter on top.
I was actually down 0.6 at my weigh-in, which I am super excited about since I didn't think I'd lose at all. Enjoy having the house to yourself Bex! |
Oh geez I love vitamuffins too! my favs are chocolate chip and cornbread!
|
Yay Cohen! Big hugs to you!
What are these Vitamuffins you speak of?! Its making me hungry :P |
just wondering...do you guys use any/all of you WPA?
|
Okay...I'm home so I can do personals!!
ab-how was the aquafit class? Sounds good right now. It's 105 here in the day and I'd guess it's about 80 right now. Aqua-anything sounds good! Kay-I can relate. I've been practically living with my boyfriend all summer. And he is a guy, so we all know they can eat like crap and still lose weight just by working out. And my bf eats like crap. His dad, too. And I shop for me, but don't have any say as to what is in the house. This week: Honey baked ham AND scalloped potatoes with ham. And he's been sick, so I prepare his food for him. Slipped up more than once. It's so frustrating. I've even talked to him about it. Don't offer me anything. If I want some, I'll ask for a bite or get my own portion. He says he'll feel bad. I said he should feel bad for doing it because it tempts me. Seems like I won't win this one. I just need to practice control. Good for you throwing the cake out! msgeng-congrats on the loss! Kinda funny that we were both bloated, but both still lost. It'll be interesting next week. I always feel like after a good week, the following week will say "Just kidding! ha!" Maybe I'll still get a post-bloating woosh and be down more! kcx-portion sizes make me sad. But I'm getting used to it!! I do use all of my allowance points. Especially since I've been drinking and it's birthday month around here! Bars, restaurants, etc...hard to stay on track. The past few weeks I have been just not tracking. If I'm good, I track. If I'm bad, I don't. But this week I'm tracking everything. Hickory-I've never had a vitamuffin...might look into them. Glad you LOVE them :) bex-good job being on plan! Just make sure you are eating enough! I'm excited for you to get under 100kg! You will have earned those tears! Well Claim Jumper was really good. I actually did pretty much what I planned. I was planning on a steak (22pts), asparagus (0), and a sweet potato (9). I had the steak, asparagus (dry), veggies (dry), 1/2 an artichoke (yes, I dipped it in the sauce, but very little...), one bite of my sourdough bread, one bite of my sister's cupcake, and one bite of her mud pie. All in all, I'm going to count it for the 31 points I had planned. This sounds horrible, but in the past, I would have chosen a fried option, probably the cheesy potato cakes as my side, veggies in butter, and cheesy bread. Then a huge slice of mud pie and several bites of her cupcake. I'm calling this a success. And I don't feel deprived. At my meeting, they did a pretty cool visual. They had a 2" by 2" brownie. 5 points. They put together five points of filling foods which consisted of: 3 apples, 1 c. carrots, 1 c. blueberries, and 1/2 a 94% fat free bag of popcorn. The same amount of points, but it's so much more food! Kinda puts things into perspective. I was talking to my family about this at dinner, and they realized "Oh, that's smart. You only spend a lot of points on it if you really want it!" Exactly. They get it now! Well, I'm off! Have a wonderful Friday! |
Kay - Your husband is full of contradictions! I've told my boyfriend that if he wants junk food, he can keep it in his car. That doesn't work so well when it's 100+ degrees out and he wants chocolate though  I am seriously tempted to get a box I can put a lock on and have him keep junk in there... but then he says "how will you ever learn willpower?"... Sigh. Boys.
MsGenghis - Hi! Actually class was totally devoid of little old ladies. There was one middle-aged man and one other lady who was probably in her 30s. I was kind of disappointed :P And congrats on the loss! :woohoo: That is awesome. Hickory - Oh man, I've seen vitatops in the grocery store. I am pretty sure I'd just eat the whole box if I bought them. They look DELISH. Ade - YES! Congrats! :woohoo: That is awesome!! Don't try to analyze, just take the loss and run with it!! :D I am glad it has cooled off where I am, we spent a month in 105s and it was NOT pleasant. hope you have a/c  Good job sticking to your plan at the restaurant, it sounded yummy. And that's what I miss about WW meetings... the neat visuals and different ways of thinking about things... but I can't find a meeting here that works with my schedule :( I'd love it if you kept sharing neat things that happen at your meetings, if you don't mind :) bex - Yay for staying OP! But I agree with ade, make sure you are eating enough :) Though I bet the desire to see your next milestone (under 100, woot!) is making you super OP right now! Exciting! kcx - I eat my WPA. If not all, then at least some. It gives me some flexibility each day. Also I find if I have a bad day and I track anyway, I find I'm actually still kind of OP as long as I don't splurge again that week... so that prevents me from feeling like I've "failed" or fallen off program. I try to alternate weeks of using all of them and using few of them, kind of like calorie cycling but with points. As for me... Aquafit was fun but not nearly as intense as the classes I'd do in college. They really beat the crap out of us in those ones. This was much more "do everything at your own pace, it's ok not to work hard," while college was the instructor yelling at us to go faster and harder and really motivate us. I'll try a couple other water classes and see what I like, and just alternate with other things. Work blows. I have THREE projects due on Monday - my dang birthday. Come on people. I was kinda hoping to call out sick ;) But now I can't. Because I have deadlines. Boo-urns. Sounds like a number of you have Thursday WI days. I need to pick one official day for here at home. I weighed myself Wed but not yesterday, suppose I could have Wed as my official WI... in which case I need to change my ticker cos I was up a lb (oops). Ok I am rambling and I REALLY need to get some work done so later ladies! |
Grats, ade! Awesome loss!
I'm up .6 lbs this week, oh well. *shakes fist at TOM* Here's the website that has the vitatops that they are talking about, Bex: http://www.vitalicious.com/allnachvi1.html I'm not a fan, ;). KCX, I don't think I have ever used my entire wpa, but I dip into it from time to time. Ab, actually I don't have an official WI... I kind of try to remember to do it once a week, but sometimes is stretches out further, like once in 8 or 10, or even 12 days. |
