Default Confession

I have a confession to make: I have no idea how much I currently weigh...or what my starting weight is. In the past when I dieted I was obsessive about the numbers on the scale-even when I tried not to be. Well, I recently moved and left the scale behind.

I'm bigger than I've been in a long time so I'm guessing at how much I weigh. I'm worried that I'm not doing as well as I'd hoped because I have no way to see how much I've lost. I keep playing mind games with the fit of clothes--in short it's driving me nutty to not have a scale!

Anyone else dieting without a scale or tape measure(I don't know how I'd consistently measure in the same place. I feel like I'd be knocking off an inch by measuring in a different spot by accident)? if so, how do you measure your sucess?

Im using a scale, but if you want to use a tape and make sure you hit the same spots, my trick is that I have a special outfit just for measuring. I wear the same one every week, and I marked the places on it to measure, so it gets you REALLY close to where you measured the last time. Also I always wera the same bra. Hope maybe that helps a bit

I tried to do that and didn't get anywhere...in fact I got bigger. I think personally needed the pressure of weigh in every week.

Clothing fit is a good way to do it and just noticing fitness improvements in general might work?!

Like bex I tried to diet without a scale and couldn't do it, I joined Weight Watchers.. I need the accountability factor and WW gives me that.

For some reason I hate the idea of spending money on a scale, and I have never been that much into weighing myself either. So for me I am going by how my jeans fit.
I have 3 pairs that are my sucess measurements and goals.
1st pair is my current pair and also my first mini goal - make my current jeans too big.
2nd pair is the in between - well onto my goal pair - the I cant wait until these fit again!
and then there is the 3rd pair which are my "skinny" jeans from a few years back. My goal is to get back into them. I hang them on the OUTSIDE of my closet so that I see them every morning and at night. It reminds me to keep going so I can get my butt back into them again.
I think once I am back into those skinny jeans then I will buy a scale to keep myself on track so that I dont let this happen again!

so yes, I am doing it with out a scale as well!

I like the idea of the fit of clothing for now. I'm just a little worried that I'll get super excited that i've lost weight only to discover that my jeans were fitting loser because I hadn't washed them recently or something stupid like that. Lol. But I'm going to go with it considering I have a pair of goal jeans I used to fit into waiting for me .
