Okay, so long story - for my wedding this summer, I've asked my bridesmaids to simply buy a dress that they like in a given range of colors, instead of having one official dress. My sister is my maid of honor, and I'm in the process of helping her find a dress. She's thinking about ordering from David's Bridal, but I'm concerned that it can take up to 12 weeks to order a dress, when we'll be about 11 weeks out by the time we're actually able to get together.

So, I wanted to come up with a few places where she can try on dresses off the rack and buy them that way, but she's size 22/24 (I'm guessing) and I know a lot of stores don't carry a huge selection of plus sizes. Also, I know she's on a budget, so I want to have some cheap, but nice options.

Can anyone name a few stores that carry higher sizes in stock for not that much money? Thanks in advance!

When my sister got married, she went to David's Bridal for the bridesmaids dresses, and they had the larger sizes available to try on. Also, we were able to get our dresses fairly quickly - mostly because they had them in stock or were able to just reserve them for us at another location that was fairly close by.

Yea, I had gotten my bridesmaid dress there (David's Bridal) size 22 and they would have had it available right then and there but I needed some slight alterations done and that only took 4 weeks. The dress was beautiful and under $100. =) Good luck!

Oh awesome - I was worried that the plus sizes would be more complicated and take longer for them to order. Hopefully they'll have one on hand or nearby that we can just buy off the rack!
